Its only to keep people right and from looking stupid talking about Zelda.
GANNON-BANNED site was started up by TSA, although he really needs to update it some time soon.

What do you mean by line of descent? You think all the Links are in the same family? I don't think there's proof of that.
The greatest evidence of this is off course WW. I think Link is actaully re-incarnated every time Ganon/Ganondorf strikes, then again I'm not sure of that because one random Link might be choosen by destiny. Ganon/Ganondorf can never win becuase if one part of the triforce is evil or good then the other ones will always gang up on the other one. Allthough it would be interesting to have an evil princess who teams up with Ganon/Ganondorf to see what happends, providing its nothing to do with Zelda or equivalant being corrupted by Ganon/Ganondorf.
The best argument is, that we name the "links" ourselves. Only Zelda 2 (i think?) gives link a default name, only names the save file. Other games your name is ingame. So your theory of re-incarnation may very well apply. "link" might just be a label for this hero, or the hero of time.
However i remember reading something that linked all the games together. dunno where i read it.
But its fun it was never intended to be a cult, it was done for a laugh. Its espeacially funny when people keep freaking out about as to what exactly it is.
I vote for CD-i Link, because he's just... so terrible at everything.

Gannon-banning is probably the single fucking stupidest thing I've ever read on the internet.
How long have you been on the Internet? Every week something unbelievably stupid comes out. Gannon-banning isn't even remotely near the top of the list.
Remember the "Ate my balls" fad back in '99?
There are sites online right now where you can buy fashionable wigs for babies if you want them to look like Elvis.
I've read forum posts where people have said near-inhumanly stupid things, like "I believe that there are an infinite number of universes with infinite possibilities, meaning that in one universe somewhere there's a universe where Sailor Moon happened exactly as it did in the cartoon series."
We have a guy who claims he invented the secret to immortality and sells rings that make people live forever, and then goes on angry rants on his own personal forum because people aren't gullible enough to buy them.
We have websites dedicated to conspiracy theorists who are convinced they are being mind-controlled by a new world order (yet are somehow free-minded enough to start a forum about it?)
The Internet is a nexus for the near-limitless potential for human stupidity. I love it.
I think JXQ would differentiate between human stupidity and sheer mean-spirited assholery motivated by superior knowledge and/or experience in such an eccentric human endeavor so completely devoid of any socially redeeming value.

This Gannon-ban nonsense is TSA getting on his high horse to belittle others because we don't obsess over which Zelda titles have plurals and which ones don't. As if he doesn't do that enough by making claims that he has beat any Zelda record that beats his (but won't submit the proof), and that some goof at Nintendo knew who he was, on and on and on. But, I can't blame him as much as his legions of followers for using the phrase enough to make it recognizable.
Oh well, I'll blame him anyway, because he just bugs me.

Are we talking human players or TAS reflexes? AoL Link does twice as much damage per attack as any other Link if wobbling is used. This combined with the pogo jump, which Links with forward-facing shields would have trouble blocking, could KO any other Link in seconds.
Second, what shape is the arena? If the sufrace is very uneven, any Link that can jump has a definate advantage. However, in a small arena, Wind Waker Link's rolling dodge slash helps quite a bit.
Third, how do we treat OOT/MM Link? Does he have all moves and items from either game? Which masks can he use? What effect, if any, does the bunny hood have on his running speed? Does his mirror shield reflect the earlier Links' spells?
Fourth, how do you mix 2D(top) with 2d(side) with 3d? Can anyone avoid AoL Link's moves with a quick sidehop? can AoL Link jump over any normal attack?
Are bottled fairies allowed? Sure you can kill OOT Link once, but can you do it 20 times? (bottle glitch)
Finally, how much preparation time is allowed? Can ALTTP Link charge a sword spin before the battle? Can OOT/MM Link do a Great Fairy Sword jumpslash then start an endless sword glitch? If so, that may be the only technique that can beat AoL Link's wobble slashes for damage per time.
EDIT:Don't count OOT/MM Link out yet!
