As far as I know, no-one's currently doing movies for these games: Batman Battle of Olympus Fantastic Adventures of Dizzy Fantasy Zone Gargoyle's Quest 2 Kabuki Quantum Fighter Milon's Secret Castle Phantom Fighter Pinball Quest Section Z Swords 'n' Serpents TMNT TMNT 2 TMNT 3 Totally Rad Willow Wizards & Warriors Wizards & Warriors 2: Ironsword Wizards & Warriors 3: Visions of Power Yo! Noid (Japanese ver, Kamen no Ninja Hanamaru) Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link (Japanese ver, RINKU no Bouken) Anything anyone would like to do off this list, or would like me to do? (I'd also like to see a Hitler no Fukkatsu run under 17 minutes and a Rygar run at the correct speed, both of which I guess I could also try.. oh, and I'd like to have Famtasia not suck so much (by displaying only some frames, and having crappy sound support), or to use VirtuaNES or the like, but if people want FMV...) Anyway, Yo! Noid and Kamen no Ninja Hanamaru are the same game, but Hanamaru has infinitely better graphics. I've never played it, but the Japanese version of Zelda 2 also has slightly different graphics, different sound and music, and different experience values and a different level system.. but for Zelda 2 I could run either version.

Batman and the first Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are two games that many have never seen an ending to. TMNT in particular was pretty tough overall. Batman has too much of a slow pace to it. With Ninja Turtles, it has a better looking flow to it, and a time attack would be pretty interesting imo. Edit - Not trying to contradict myself about Batman, but more of a comparison with that and TMNT. Those two I'd love to see above anything else outside of Zelda 2 maybe.

My wanting is on TMNT... Ah, the memories of this game... I remember jumping up and screaming out loud the first time i beat the first boss... Pace is high, there are plenty of different ways to complete the level, and meny people have played it.

I was making TMNT as a debute movie, but I had forgotten that the rom freezes each time you reach the boss of the fifth level. If anyone has a rom that works I think TMNT would make a nice movie. It took less than twenty minutes to get to the end of the fifth level, so the movie shouldn't be too long either (~25 minutes).

Batman - Probably wouldnt be very interesting IMO Battle of Olympus - Messed up with Famtasia. Kabuki Quantum Fighter - Great game. I think a few people are doing this one already. TMNT - Had up to level 3 done but kept putting it on hold. If it does freeze later like you say, then I guess I wont finish it. Id like to see it finished though. Totally Rad - Good game, not as popular as it should be. Yo! Noid - Another good game. Zelda 2 - I had a nicely planned run for this game, but the game wouldnt let me finish it. (Hasnt anyone here tried using the elevator in death mountain? You will get an error). Dunno about the japanese version though. Havent seen anyone do a complete run yet. The games I would most like to see from the list: TMNT or any of the Wizards & Warriors. The games I would most like to see that are not on the list: Castlevania 3, Samurai Pizza Cats, Athena, Bubble Bobble. However, none of these work with Famtasia. Btw, would anyone like to see a Metal Gear time attack? Still thinking about this one.

Swords 'n' Serpents How are you going to speed run this one? It debends too much on luck. Are Simpsons games worth doing speed runs?

Too long, but I'd like to see it anyway. It's hard to play perfectly, because you need lots olives (which you get only by fighting), many enemies are unavoidable and the hero can't walk while swinging his weapon. It's similar in difficulty to Simon's Quest.

I'm working on that, but someone may get it finished before me because I'm also working on some other things.

I have a 17:06 long movie (fmv) of that game, but I don't yet know if I can publish it. It origins from http://www.din.or.jp/~urushi/fam/fam.htm. There's also a 31:05 long Zelda movie btw.

I don't see point on that. You can just slow down Warp's movie by 16% and nobody can tell the difference to the USA version.

Crappy sound support in what way? - Batman and TMHT are on the submission-happily-accepted list aka. idea list, but you're right that Batman might be a little boring. I'm not so sure about TMHT. Sleepz: I have not met problems running Castlevania 3 or Battle of Olympus in Famtasia.

Boco shared that FMV with me earlier this week. I am confident that I can beat that time, especially since he doesn't use A+B+START to exit the neutral areas quickly, nor does he escape the fortress with maximum efficiency. So publish it if you must, but I vow to beat his time, and possibly even make it under 17 minutes. Count on it!

To summarize, these are what people want: Zelda 2 Yo! Noid + W&W 2 + W&W 3 + Totally Rad BofO Kyatto Ninden Teyandee Bubble Bobble And these, for some reason or another, aren't, apparently: Fantasy Zone Gargoyle's Quest 2 Milon's Secret Castle Phantom Fighter Pinball Quest Section Z

If it freezes, I guess it can't be done in Famtasia. And I wouldn't want to do something that others are doing.

If people are doing it already, I guess I won't. Well, except for Zelda 2, which apparently doesn't work in Famtasia (I just loaded a from-save game and went to Death Mountain, and you're right, the elevators are broken). I'd really like to do Zelda 2 - it's one of the games on the list that I know very well (and the only real research I'd need to do to do the run is seeing if I can ever warp ahead using the "on top of the palace" glitch). Kyatto Ninden Teyandee I can also add to the list, and Bubble Bobble, but if they're broken, I guess it can't be done in Famtasia.

If you're doing W&W, I'll gladly do W&W 2 (which is the easiest in the series) or W&W 3 (which will require me to do a lot of planning and make maps of everywhere) instead. I've seen the 17:06 video, and he doesn't always take the quickest path, so a sub-17 run is possible. But I just want to see it because I've speed-run the game before (without emulator/savestate/etc) and have been in a competition for the fastest time ^_^;; Famtasia's 20fps is annoying, but unless you need the extra timing, it's livable. Maybe it's just my version (5.10, from 00/04/01) but the sound support is horrible - none of the music sounds exactly right, and some games (like Zelda 2) are just totally messed up in both music and sound effects. You don't really notice it unless you have an NES to compare, but it's obvious for someone who plays the original games. Batman might be boring (unless I find a way to warp through walls), but it's an incredibly hard game that lends itself well to speed-runs. But I guess I'll stick it on a lower priority if people think it wouldn't be fun to watch. If anyone knows how to get Zelda 2 working, I'd love to try it.

Did you try more than one version of the game? I would say try all 3 versions but that would mean you would need to go to death mountian from the start for 2 versions, and we aren't sure if it won't lock up. For a game thats not on the list that i would like to see, try Cowboy Kid. That game was really fun. I believe it would be a pretty easy game to get the hang of and you have a choice of which enemy stage to defeat first, so you have many options on what you want to do to make your run faster. There are many different weapons you can find, etc...

Kabuki - Quatum Fighter is a great game i'd like to see, i think there is no one working on it, and a video of it would be very interesting.

I just tried the Japanese version, and Famtasia refuses to even load it (it's an FDS game). VirtuaNES runs it just fine. The European version is identical to the US version except for the speed difference. Interesting bugs in Famtasia's emulation: pressing both left & right at the same time breaks the game (until you walk in a straight line for a full screen), save-stating in a sidescrolling part and then loading breaks the game (until you go outside), and using the elevators in Death Mountain breaks the game (permanently). So I'm thinking of doing a VirtuaNES run of the Japanese version....

Famtasia has good support for FDS games. Otherwise we couldn't have played the Japanese Super Mario Bros 2.

Do you have the Link no Bouken image? Could you try loading it and seeing if your version of Famtasia works, and it's just mine that's broken? I don't know if I have the latest release. I get "Unknown opcode 33 at ECEE".

Yes. What should I do in order to see the problem?

You should try using a bad dump of the FDS BIOS that works in VirtuaNES but not Famtasia ^_^;;;; Okay, it works now. Now to test the elevators..

Okay, the elevators work. As far as I know, the emulation is good enough to play through without difficulties. The left-right bug still happens, but I'll be using a joystick so it can't occur.. and the sound is still messed up (the FDS wavetable sounds aren't emulated properly, so some sound effects sound weird). But the game works! And it's fun!! Okay, so.. making a new topic!
