I've been using Mupen64 Rerecording Edition for a while now to take care of my basic household TAS needs, and it's been working fine... But now, for some reason, the fast-forwarding doesn't work at all. I customized the button for "F", and it doesn't work... When I do hold "F", the frames get all choppy, but the framerate stays the same. You can imagine how annoying this is when recording a long movie. Any help? Thanks in advance.

It just happens. Use savestates to load it faster (read-only) That's my only suggestion/advice to N64 TAS'ers. :(

N64 emulation is very CPU-intensive, and the fast-forward button doesn't skip very much except for the final rendering stage of some frames, so it will only make it go faster if your CPU is already powerful enough to run N64 games at higher than 100% speed. However, it's possible that your sound plugin is preventing it from speeding up. Some sound plugins purposely slow down the gameplay to keep the sound synchronized, which will stop fast forward from working even when it should work.

Yes, this is what happened. "Synch game to audio" was checked. I found this myself shortly after posting the original message, but thanks anyway.
