since you asked for opinions, I guess I can post about it I find winTASer to be kind of lame, but I don't particularly like Hourglass either (though I guess I find it to be a more proper name), and have no other ideas

Interesting theory. I'll try it out, but I'm pretty sure Mega Man needs to be on a ladder to trigger an upwards screen transition.
I don't know if it means anything but in Mega Man 9 water boss stage there are Y screen transitions without ladders, in the part where you go on top of floating bubbles worth a try, anyway

at 0:52, is it possible to call Rush sooner and jump over to the top platform? (where that tube enemy is), then after that, either using another Rush or the wheel-climbing weapon, is it possible to go up to the next screen? or does that downward waterflow prevent you from such big jumps? anyway, another nice segment, did you lose frames when moonwalking?

it seems to happen every time you loadstate, to check it easily simply save when you have 158 lag which should be just after the game creates the save file and at least for me it stops there for a while, you save with 158 lag and when you reload it goes to 159 I don't know if the problem is the lag counter or what edit: it seems to be actual lag because if I press A right after loadstate it doesn't work

what's the moat door? I've never heard of this BitDW skip idea, can someone explain?
The moat door is the exit point from when you drain the moat to open up the invisible cap stage. The idea is to open said door from the outside to skip the first key. The problem being you can't open the door.
oh, that would be incredibly epic, I hope someone finds a way… thanks for the answer

Street Fighter IV's AI on Ultra Hard can already do some impossibly fast punishes, like throwing an Ultra if you dare make any move too close to it, at least Ryu

0:51 shouldn't it be faster to jump from a higher place so you have more speed when falling to the red blocks? 1:29 the climbing wheel weapon thing isn't faster? one of the less entertaining levels imo

However, when players say the video makes them feel like they need to vomit from it, I wonder if we should perhaps dig a bit deeper.
they have some kind of eye issue? don't we give awards to run that are supposed to make you vomit anyway? I remember one of this game that won Speedy TAS I think which had aerial parts where the author moved as much in circles as possible or something, that was truly nauseating, but it won an award

would games such as the ones from Alpha Secret Games work?
Yes, they work. At least I made sure "Rotate Gear" is TASable. I also confirmed that Streets of Rage Remake works.

well, it better end up on a minute sub! I'm joking, if that wasn't obvious, I haven't even watched the TAS yet (have never watched any on emulator so far)

I'm gonna try and make a test run of Hero's suggestion, to see if it's faster.
I hope that saves 8 frames, then I'll change my vote to yes

I personally think the goal of the site should be to feature the best movie to a general audience of 10,000+ instead of presenting something "different" to the 100 or so people who constantly follow the Mario 64 TASing scene. You're welcome to disagree.
no point in having older runs still up then? if they're kept there to be watched, making each movie different to one another makes sense to me

I couldn't tell what was going on even though I've seen every other SM64 TAS published on this site.
sorry to say this, but I can't interpret that any other way than to think you're pretty dumb "What I do care about is that it isn't a carbon copy of the preceding movie." ^this imo is a good argument for accepting it, the different camera angles I felt were worse than the normal ones, but in no way bad, they gave the movie a unique feeling and I liked that

They'll need to re-do EVERYTHING from A to Z just to change some camera angles
honestly, I don't believe that… the run doesn't abuse luck, I don't see what the problem is with removing some letters from a text file? it's kind of gay that they tried to make their run unique and everyone hates on them though edit: ok I was wrong, Nahoc explained to me why they'd have to redo everything to change the camera angles, and it makes sense; it's a real shame if this run gets rejected due to arguably worse entertainment

Since when did 'not enough frames were saved' become a reason to reject?
^ an improvement is an improvement, the site should always publish the fastest movie if everyone really hates the camera angles, I don't think it'd be hard to hex them differently, so just request that

I've tried restarting my Advance Wars DS (U) TAS with 0.9.7-win32 version, and I've noticed that the emulator creates 1 frame of lag at every reloading, is this a bug? I don't know if I should continue, I think it'd make it harder to TAS too… I've tried with another ROM (Bomberman Land Touch! 2) and it doesn't happen

after having watched the encode, I see some parts in BitS are different, are those slower or faster? I know they don't matter because of the end elevator, just found it weird to see them oh, I haven't said it yet… congratulations!! huge props for improving those few frames out of a great TAS :) camera angles were unique, but I like the usual ones better

"BitFS 1 frame saved. We reduced 1 frame of the 0 speed state." what's that precisely?
