okay so right now if I wanted to reset in a rec then... how do I go about that, or can (at this moment) I not do it.

yes, but I need to find out how to: save while paused... what the heck It only lets you save while it isn't paused, and the speed doesn't go down to zero, so I guess I'll knock it to 5% and then hotkey it. But I still don't know how you link multiple recs and whatever else.

True, my response TSA was regarding it's applications for unassisted runs. I will be trying for spirit early wholeheartedly.

I think spirit early is, but it is probably exceedingly random since cuckoos are freakin random.

I'll try buy honestly I think it is flat out not possible. Even with an optimal damage boost. But we'll see.

Gerudo seam is impossible. You aren't even on the seam, at one point it is detached from the textures. I used levitation to get to the top. The point is this: If you can go DOWN from the top to the bottom then you can go UP from the bottom to the top. I couldn't at the top and I don't think it's even possible at all. The Cuckoo damage boost... here are my findings/speculations: As far as damage boosting from the side onto the upper ground: NO. It isn't an upwards boost... it is at best a forwards boost. So, you cannot get enough air to make it up the side. Fret not my pretties... I think it is VERY possible to boost onto the fence though... especially because it can already be done w/ bombs. I tried it for an hour yesterday but quit so that I could get some bow practice. I'm pretty sure that it can be done though. Secondly, I have found a great little trick for Dodongo's cavern: THE EYES CAN BE LIT FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE SKULL ?!?!?1 Okay, I have found the perfect little spot on the right side of the skull where you have the bombchu go up and hook a corner around the jaw and proceed straight across the underside of the jaw. What does this mean? it means that all you have to do is time the bombchus differently, but you can light both eyes from the SAME location. Very nifty. I should see if you could possible light both at the same time... though it's pretty cool that you can light the eyes from the inside of it's mouth. lol For 2 weeks I'll be moving into an apartment so I may be busy, and I also need that gay paypal to verify my account so I have to do that again too so I can get a controller adapter but I'll try to at least get the adapter ASAP.

Hey, guess what? It was the ROM. But I found that pack w/ like a billion OoT roms (thanks Angerfist) and then I picked a good 1.0 rom that gets me past ghoma. I'm currently researching the cuckoo in Gerudo valley thing. (I hope it is possible)

gotcha. I'll try that tonight and thanks. I didn't move jabo into the plugins folder for mupen. I'll see if that's enough. As for the extra processing power needed, I don't mind since my comp is pretty good... as for everyone who don't share in that regard... isn't that why bisqwit also hosts avis? (though the emu movies are much smaller)

K, dled PJ64 since it came bundled w/ Jabo's plugin... Then firstly, in Mupen I still can't see it, and secondly it freezes no matter the plugin as far as I remember it at least. I'll try again tonight though. idea: not sure but I'm gonna see if backrunning w/ deku stick is faster than normal, or if the starting of the run is faster. have a few other small ideas to test but meh. in good time, right now I need to get that gay ebay working so I can get that adapter.

Very strange... I guess I'll try it some more or something??? It gets to 96% loading for the room and then stops completely. Then gives me the stupid crash and "do you want to send..." crap.

cool. thanks guys. I'm just trying to figure some of the stuff/options I have out, so bear w/ me. ;) _________ Update: The rom doesn't work. It crashes when entering Ghoma's room. I tried it on 2 different emulators. Anyone have a working ROM?

cool. I grabbed Jabo's plugin in some zip w/ pj64 today, as well as an OoT ROM from Angerfist (thanks by the way). As soon as I get a controller I can start getting serious. Right now is the time for testing. I have a bunch of calc2 homework to do so I won't be messing w/ it all tonight, though I will indefinitely mess w/ this soon. Question: for a TAS of a potential 3:30 or so run, what would an acceptable savestate number be? I mean, I can work off of rather low amounts, but to make it as good as I possibly can, including frame optimizations and crap, it might take more. What you you guys think? 2nd Question: Are there any script functions or anything for Mupen? Could they possibly be added? Such as scripting the perfect rolls, etc. If not or if it would take too long don't even worry about it. Just tell me to shut up.

Nitsuja, exactly how long (if you are willing that is) would it take to get a proper start menu for OoT? If it took a while now and I recorded stuff and then switched to a quick one wouldn't the rec files be completely off?

:( that sucks. Well, no CC uns then I guess, though CC runs have insane potential and probably shave off around what, 10 minutes plus... and the things that are accessable do to it add to that time. Bah, maybe Ill save that for some "non official I'm dicking around in OoT" run on 64 or something. Okay, no CC then. What about that Swordless link to skip spirit? What are people's views here?

Does Nitsuja or whatever the name is (sorry) plan on programming in CC? Because I think that in a TAS CC is beastly and I have already drawn out a CC route for child that is optimal, and secondly, if you use the fishing pond swordless link glitch, can you possibly get the sword back by reequipping it or by warping through time? I have not done this glitch ever thogh I do know of it. I'm just unsure of the details because I think that I can skip all of spirit temple w/ it. Thanks.

wait, your telling me that it's not just because my current rom is crap? the start menu is f'ed up on everybody's because the emus can't display it right yet? lame. Secondly, if anyone could possibly upload their rom and link me off an email or a pm it'd be greatly appreciated since my current rom cannot get past kid since the stones clump up at the altar and the door of time doesn't open... and it's in spanish >_<. thanks

I updated my previous post too... um, not sure, as soon as I can find a freaking controller adapter I can start thinking about all this stuff. Key part first is exploration and testing of all critical areas.

Hello. just registered to the forums. I'm guessing people from SDA know me but I'm here to find crap and potentially (once I get some crap together) do a TAS of this game. spoony - well, anywhere there is a crate/block/armos statue/acute angle. The one's that aren't acute angles require offsets to work though. bumty - just so you know, I wouldn't base your adult or child route off the 4:57, especially in a TAS... so I was wondering what your current route is, and what kinds of tricks you plan on investigating in order to reshuffle all the temples/items around. thanks ;) have you found any cool tricks w/ your testing so far? I'd love to hear whatever you've got. __________ Here's an idea for getting into death mountain crater early so you can get to the deathmountain seam, sou you can get to the magic GF fountain w/out bombs... If in Goron city, you can jump off the high platform and (on the right side I have experianced sticking into the wall a little but being kicked out) stradle the wall all the way into darunia's room, you can trace the edge and make your way so that you can jump off of there and into the load for death mountain crater. Or you can try to find a way to get past that statue (probably utilizing that spear...idk) If you do this and so spirit early and use the prize upgrade glitch, you can get farore's early, and make the whole route insanely optimal... (granted we can find a way into the farore's wind one too) I think since this is a TAS that this should definitely be investigated further, as it would be a major breakthrough.
