Don't get me wrong, I would like to see a linked run (no pun intended) but I just prefer the idea of a start from new run. If you have the patience, do both. Or I might do it myself after you've done it. Who knows :P

You should use the passwords in this game, then redo OoS with the passwords from this game :P Only joking, I would prefer one without passwords personally.

Hm, can you save time in this game by having all the emeralds? I thought the only benefit was a better ending.
That's what I thought as well, but the reason that i'd get them is because of having full completion if i did a run. I started doing one with exactly 50 rings at the end of the levels with a similar route to Xebra's previous run-through. But I got the same fate as the others who started Sonic runs, excluding SprintGod of course, and Q.

How in the world did you manage to figure that out with the boss?! Brilliant, just brilliant. If things continue I think I'll like this better than the Sonic 3&K run. Great Work!

Wow, I never thought I'd see this run! Definate improvements can be made, at least I think there are.

Oops, I was meant to say it was for GBA, which probably cuts things down quite a bit to which game I'm wanting to do. I'm don't know too much with memory so can i ask, is there a certain section I should be keeping my eye on? Or will I have to go through every section of memory to figure stuff out? I suppose this should go in the gba emulator section...

I was thinking of doing a turn-based RPG run, I won't say what it is as I don't want to get people hyped about it as I probably won't finish it, as with all my other runs I started. I was wondering how you guys managed to figure out about all the random stuff for battles etc. Is it just with extensive random testing or do you have any other methods that I've missed?

The only runs I've posted on the net are horrible, so don't worry about looking for it. If i can find what I ended up with I'll send it to you though. Oh, and if you need a site to post your runs, I can always put it on mine, although you wouldn't be able to link directly according to the host.

I tried doing this run a while back, didn't post much about it mind you, and the only stuff everyone here saw was absolutely horrible. The main problem I had was finding all the special stage rings closest to the main path. But then if you got Super Sonic early, would that counter-act the time it takes to go off course for some, not to mention getting enough rings to turn to Super Sonic. You could of course get the Special Stage rings to gain 50 rings quickly... If I can find all the stats I made on the game i'll post them to you, but I don't know whether I will. Personally, I like the idea of getting the emeralds, as I would like to see the 100% completion. I'd sure like to see getting all 14 emeralds and going on to the actual final boss and getting the best ending. You may see somewhere about me posting with the emeralds, and others arguing against it. I started doing a Sonic 1 run but I had some problems with finding the fastest paths in the latest levels, I'm not good at that sort of thing. Sonic 2 was harder for me because it meant finding the fastest path that includes 50 rings and a Post, which as I said I'm not good at finding paths. I'm good at optimising a section however so if you need any help on that I'd be glad to help.

You seem to know almost too much Saturn... Not that that's bad or anything!

Well from what I've seen, you're doing a great job. There was one thing I wasn't too sure about, I tried to rewind but I couldn't for some reason... It was one of the missile expansions you got... I dunno I can't really remember and I don't think I'll watch it until the final thing. Good Luck! It looks very impressive!

I've seen a run of complete stealth, and it sure looks impressive but this is a run for fastest completion, so I'd say set that alarm off. Oh, and I'd never usually say something like that so you'd better set that alarm off!

The one on SDA is 55 minutes, so hopefully it will be less than that. I'm not too sure whether that's in-game timer or not though...

Oops, looks like after further testing it's not faster. Thanks for the input anyway.

There's an E version? I didn't think the game was released in Europe. The only cart I could find after hours and hours of searching was an australian version, which just happens to be PAL, and seeming as the first wasn't released there it was called the first one (which makes some sorta sense with the storyline). It is an official cart and all. Anyway, I'm really looking forward to this movie. I still haven't finished the game yet (it'll take me years as i usually loose interest then when i come back i start the game from the beginning!). I haven't honestly played it much so i don't know about the capsule monsters... I'm certainly looking forward to this though!

I can't wait for this. I started doing this a while back but it never worked out properly, and by the sounds of it this is much faster! Good luck to you!

There's a game i've been doing (i won't say what it is just yet) a run for, and i've tried both the USA and Euro versions and found out that the Euro version seems to be faster in gameplay and was wondering if you guys could tell me which one you'd prefer.

What's even more hopeless is that i knew about the custom menu before, yet i couldn't find the one i wanted until you posted... Anyway, I'm sure Bisqwit won't want me going off topic too much so i'll stop here.

Ahh, Thanks! Edit: Also, what's the control name for the button which speeds up? It's default is space bar on mine but i don't want it to be that...

One more thing, is it possible to change the keys for FrameAdvance at all? Just my control settings are nowhere near where the frameskip keys, or i have to stretch. Edit: And I usually have x set to b, which isn't good when trying to use the shortcut set at the moment (CTRL + X anyone)

Trial run? I don't see any trial runs here. I see an almost perfect run! Well, there were a few things i spotted but i don't know the game so i don't know whether they were necessary or not.
