The ending to Sonic 1 desyncs if you hold C, due to it being unable to press C itself (because it doesn't register a "new" press of C if you're holding it.)

An amazingly thorough run... and WOW did this game pay for every little kid it tormented with difficulty years ago... poor poor game... I almost feel sorry for it... but I would've done the same thing, if I was a script wizard! congrats, dude, on an obliteration that makes me say "Yeah, and we thought the LAST one was perfect!"

I totally loved that (Watched the rough encode, thanks for that!) I'm totally going to buy this game at some point... it's much better than the thoughts I'd seen on it before, from just what I've watched.

Seems well-enough optimized to me. Barring any game-annihilating glitches, it seems good to go.

One more enlightened viewer, YAY! Also, I'm totally in favor of another game being annihilated, and this game is certainly one that deserves it! Broken as it can be, I love it, and I hope it breaks more in the future. YAY!

Very well done. The above posters have commented on all the things I really enjoyed, so I'll save you some time by saying the following: YAY AWESOME RUN!

I'm rating this 5/3. This looks very much like a real-time speedrun by a skilled player, but it's not TAS Quality. Count your shots, refine your movement, test ship selections, and so on. Also, an improvement doesn't have to be large to be important... could you imagine refining another frame off of the SMB TAS? I had this game, and it, along with Lightning Force (GEN) top the list of games I've annihilated with glee. I'm voting deny, because there are only a couple things in this run I couldn't do in real time, as far as maneuvering goes, and the lack of refinement in the movement, considering that this is supposed to be a view of perfection, is just laziness. EDIT: Sorry to be so hard on you. It's really a good run, compared to most normal speedruns. I do want to see a run of this be improved and submitted, though! You have my honest support, if you do spend more time on it.

Annihilation of this game, in it's purist form. I think that while, yes, this run is 90% menu manipulation and outright abuse, if a game is mostly menus, is there any really alternative?

A few things here... The current v3 Mighty run has a couple route flaws in MM3, which can be beaten IRT about 4 seconds faster on a decent run... Also, I had gotten 54'56 on SS3-S when I was TASing it for my route for my run... sadly, I didn't vid it, so I can't really be much help except to offer a goal for you... And more on-topic, I think that S1MMv4 is much better for TASing because of the inclusion of Knux... he is easily a rival to sonic IRT, and probably even better under TAS standards. 9'46 on GH2, for example, as Knux... the best I could manage with Sonic was low-12...

Most impressive... I'm curious about how much of this is possible on console... perhaps I could get some more info on the through-the-wall and zipping stats? I've made Zipping nessecary for only one record (BB1)... and it seems like they could all have the same effect... but for me, it seemed luck-based... what is there to be known?

Ok, has anyone actually started work on this, yet? Also, for he who was talking about AR2K, what pathchange are you speaking of? The human-played top path of Knux can almost break the TAS for Sonic, thus rendering the bottom ineffecient. I can finish AR2K in :39, with others proving :40 and :41, while, as stated before (and I think it remains) the fastest Human AR2 was :43. Knux can indeed defeat 'botnik by using the intended, frontal method (hitting him when he lands was the only "intended" way to injure him, originally). Also, though, I think, maybe (though doubtable) that Knux can Superglide from the next-to-last-hit to pick up the 12th hit to end the game. If I do undertake this project, I'll not be using the Boss glitch, even though it could save nearly a full minute, because it is too unpredictable, and it is not yet understood how to replicate such. If I do undertake this project, unless I am constrained from doing so, I intend to complete four(!) versions. First, a pure speedrun, focusing on individual level speed, then, a pure speedrun focusing on pure total time (which only changes 2 levels), then a level-speed-post-EH-Emerald run (all emeralds before CP, then fastest per-level from then on), and finally, the fastest completion run I can manage, which will involve testing to see where the emeralds are the easiest to find, and easiest to do. I now begin my quest... wish me luck! P.S. to the above. No, the reason the glitch works in CP2 (noted because it's possible with Sonic and Tails, in a way) is because of Knux's jump-angle off of slopes...

I watched this with a friend, and his thoughts on the matter are "wow... don't they throw people in jail for pwning games that bad?" Mine, however, were that I did see the mistake of overall time, but that's ok, because even with that you obliterated all thoughts I had on the time of this game. I've been doing speed-runs for a while, and I can pull 20s in 1-1, so I don't feel too bad overall. points and props

there are actually 3 speeds, because at some points, there's no scrolling (in the normal version) A 2P run is much faster, taken the example of me and my friend Danny, who roughly tied THIS score without emulator

My copy of Ys works on FCEU L+R near-perfectly, with the only problem being the occasional visual error in the mountains, but I've only seen that twice, and that's where the sprite for Idol (sp?) became a goblin sprite... I finished the game yet again the other day, and I need some help if I'm going to do well.... The Aitamen

Ys... an excelent game that has always had a special place in my heart, but sadly, doesn't have it's place filled with a vid here.... so... I'm not sure how it could be done, since nearly enemies in this game are so random... but if no one else is going to give it a try, I suppose I'll give it a shot... can anyone give a starter some advice?

Much thanks... I thought it was like HCF... this makes more sense... I'm doing an official speedrun on the NES, and I'm going to do three versions... one no hit (howl damage), one no damage, and one full speed... all three, first hacked controller and then my JS controller ^_^ thanks again, and wish me luck! My question is over the LDR... what exactly is it? I can't get it to work, and I've modded my controller to fit it The Aitamen
