Post subject: FCEUX Crash After Editing CHT File in Notepad...?

Hi. I like the convenience of editing .cht files in text editors like Notepad and WordPad since I can create duplicate codes for both players (provided they're Pro-Action Replay codes) by simply copying and pasting the Player 1 codes, and use the auto-replace function to edit the addresses and descriptions to correspond to player 2. It's much better than duplicating each code one-by-one in fceux's cheat window and making the changes manually, which can get tedious. Although I have done this in the past successfully, I had recently discovered a problem when adding codes to a .cht file in Notepad. I entered the duplicated codes (in this case SMB3's B-Button Map Item Select codes) and saved the .cht file, but when I opened the ROM up in fceux, the new cheats that were designated as active were not recognized, and trying to open fceux's cheat window caused the emulator to crash. What am I doing wrong?

Is your FCEUX folder read-only by any chance?
Just checked. It was. I changed that and hope that does the trick. EDIT: No. Apparently not. After I closed Windows Explorer, the folder apparently reverted back to read-only. What's going on?

Hello. I am a newbie to this forum but I have used FCEUX for years. However, on my most recent PC, I run into an interesting problem when I try to change FCEUX's settings--even after clicking "Save Config File" before exiting, the settings and preferences seem to reset when I restart FCEUX. Can anyone help me on this?
