Those of us on "warped" team (and most/all other SMW TASers) don't think that cloud should be in the TAS. So it won't be. Our TAS is still incredibly optimal and I don't see how this warrants the TAS getting an update. It may be getting (very small) update soon due to new strat, but it won't involve cloud.
Can you summarize the main reasons of why eating a Chargin' Chuck as small Mario should be forbidden in any category, but executes arbitrary code and game end glitch?

I can't do anything to help it.
You could make a TAS of it yourself.
Well, after a decision is made here, a TAS that uses the cloud glitch should not obsolete the warps run. Hopefully, anyone can use the Cloud in Super Demo World 120-exit without glitches.

In the forum, when I try to change my login, the site says: Your password must be no more than 32 characters. However, even passwords with 32 chars will result this message. BTW, why only 32 chars?

Has someone achieved that? I use Lubuntu/64 bits and everytime I try to build lsnes, a new error occurs. At first, it was a bunch of boost libraries (unlisted on the manual.txt). Then: Zlib and Portaudio. Now, it seems I can't install wxWidgets-2.8.12 correctly.

I am very impressed by the fact that the major glitch of this game wasn't mentioned here and wasn't used by PeterThePLayer in his WR!
Demo Funnies (by Keiji Dragon): Boot up the game and stay in the title screen. If you wait here, a gameplay demo will pop up sooner or later, as usual. Now, what you want is the demo from Bye Bye Blimps. Just before that demo pops up, keep holding Triangle. After that, you should be able to control Coco in the demo, and it will never end! Furthermore, a few unusual things happen if you finish the level: - You will be sent to the 4th Warp Room (N. Gin), but you will also be locked from the inside, and you can't get out, no matter what you do. - All levels from that Warp Room are playable. - Even if you get all the Crystals in the hub you're stuck in, the boss button doesn't appear. This happens because you only have 5 Crystals, so the game thinks you've just finished the first 5 levels, therefore locking all the level buttons except for Tiny Tiger's, who is the first boss in the game. - When entering/exiting a level, you don't get the funky screen distortion you usually would. Instead, the screen just rapidly fades into blank, like when a gameplay demo begins. - Crash has all of the super powers in his possession (even the Bazooka and the Crash Dash, which you only get after defeating N. Gin). - Crash has no Crystals or Gems, except for those you collect. - The time vortex cutscenes are those of Warp Room 1. - You can't turn the vibration on (the game still thinks a demo is ongoing). New Game With All Super Powers: Repeat the previous cheat's procedure. Once you're in control of Coco in Bye Bye Blimps, pause the game and exit the level. You will appear at the centre of the Time Twister, like in the beginning of the game. The only difference is that you'll have all Super Powers in your possession.
http://www.crashmania.net/crash-bandicoot-3-warped/secrets/ Link to video So, I'm very sure it's faster to wait 2 minutes in order to perform the glitch and have the shoes in all levels. One may try to test whether something is possible starting locked in the 4th world too...

It's a setup for a glitch. It seems like if you activate a TNT and then reset the level right as it destroys a time box, that box will count immediately when you pick up the clock, even though the box is still there for later.
AKA restart's glitch. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v_49zv5aA2U Question: is there any way to download videos from nicovideo? I don't really like using Adobe's FLash Player.

Probably, as there're "replies" of some adresses. I will check this later... For numbers higher than 15, the kart will be glitched.

You all can download my Lua Script for this game. https://github.com/Amaraticando/CTR.lua Link to video It was troublesome to get the RAM adresses (on level) because they vary when 1) You change the character; 2) You change the track; 3) You change the game mode. But I discovered, so far, the pattern for Time Trial. ==== Some adresses are absolute, like the character, track, etc. You can play as Nitrous Oxide if you force the character adress to be 15, but he will get the properties of the previous kart.

If I wanna see if a Super Mario World (NTSC-U) ROM is clean, I can just go to this link and verify. Is it possible to make the same procedure for a generic game? For instance, I have two images of Crash Team Racing (NTSC-U) which are almost equal, except for a few bytes. Do I have to compare my file with the majority or is there any standard?

I have the same problem of Lil_Gecko. I can't display text or lua drawings in the video, even after Config > Graphics > .kkapture is checked.

Here are some CTR videos done with tools, some with allowed emulators and others with only the save state feature. Crash Cove Lap 25.24 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EQylZucSCgY I couldn't even beat my own record, 25:18 (2009). Crash Cove Total 1:17:97 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6tLKJ_GK-uc Author initially pretended it was tooless. Coco Park Lal 23.09 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dw1AWaBpMSs Author claims it was done without save states, but I don't buy this... Dingo Canyon Lap 25.15 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8DvFd1GmqH8 Keeps speed ghost until the end. Almost impossible for humans. Polar Pass Lap 35.22 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Jx8U4b9ahQ Using the NTSC-J version. Cortex Castle Lap 38.25 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FE_xSjT8hZQ Author initially pretended it was tooless. Hot Air Skyway Lap 22.96 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IzTO0cjMq34 Starts the lap with ultimate sacred fire (nearly impossible to turn well for humans). Then, performs a shortcut that can't be done without USF. The rest is just like the WR. Oxide Station Lap 36.85 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jc5TvC1ANXc Didn't break the WR, but it would with the PAL version and the shortcuts done by speedrunners.

Thanks for the script, bahamete; and for the fonts, Masterjun.

Just to note, I should theoretically be able to console verify any SMW run that was made in or can at least be played back in lsnes.
How is it possible to demonstrate this affirmation? And what about Bizhawk, is it as precise as Lsnes?

http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1891645235/smw-any%25.smv Sorry, I didn't see the link at first. My improvement is not in this movie, only ShadowDragon's. I didn't save so I will try later. It is when you are getting the goal tape in YI2.

We've discovered an improvement which could be 13 frames or more. Here is the proof of concept. It gets to the overworld after yi1 9 frames sooner than the current run. Essentially, we use the POW to gain a stock mushroom in yi2 and then in yi1 we no longer need to care about slowing down to double-eat the invisible mushroom as we already have a stock one. In other words, we fill the sprite slots faster. Because I'm lazy, I used input from the current run, and I had to delay yi3 entry by 3 frames and yi1 entry by 1 frame to sync them. yi2 is 3 frames slower but maybe this can be improved (so my demo movie is 9 frames faster, but it is improvable by at least 4 frames by not being lazy). The ending to yi2 was Masterjun; thanks for proving my theory. :p I think we'd rather discover other improvements before attempting a new any%, I guess...
How do you get the POW and still manage to do the item swap glitch? If it's possible, it's also possible ot enter YI3 2 frames sooner, as I did with ShadowDragon's WIP. And he also improved YI3 and said me that he could duplicate the blocks 2 frames sooner.

Yes vote. It's an improvement of the previous run that keeps the entertainment. I don't care about the emulator.

What.
Pressing select or start first and then pressing A and B later is faster than simply A,B,A,B,... But I heard it's because of Snes9x.

Some parts I can't do. Therefore YES vote. . . . . . Since bahamete and TheFinalBoss726 are never going to submit their glitchfest, I think this should be at the site and a TAS with more glitches could obsolete this.

I'm in line with andypanther here. While it's a shame that the more accurate emulator produces a slower run, it is better to use better emulators. It seems that the technical proficiency of this run is on the same par as the currently published run, and that's what should decide publication. Along with what Dr. Jones said, how should credit be attributed to previous authors? It seems Masterjun did all the input himself, even though he borrowed the strategies heavily from p4wn3r's run, so I don't know if p4wn3r should be listed as a co-author. I'd personally suggest that the publication text credit p4wn3r and gia for their major discoveries in this run's category, rather than put them in the author field. And Zeupar, the screenshot is awesome, but it technically occurs after input is already done. It wouldn't be the first time we've used a screenshot with that issue, though. Lastly, I vote Yes. Nicely done, Masterjun!
