Here's the glitch. I found that for 1 Frame, you can use your weapon in the Cossack Stage 3 Boss room, which leads to some cool tricks and glitches. Check out the video.
Could that be used to get a hit in before you can actually move? Maybe with Toad Man's attack? Apologies if this doesn't make sense for whatever reason, it's been a long time since Mega Man 4.

Who'd you hear that from? All the LEGO games have been awesome with the exception of Indiana Jones.

Just want to say thanks to the encoder. I really don't feel like downloading the emulator just for this one game, so it's nice to be able to youtube it. And of course thanks to the player as well, without whom there'd be no encode to encode.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aAPuVnUQ4bM Just linking this in case anything can be gleaned from it. I've never played either NSMB game, but just in case no one has seen this. . . .

why isn't epona being used to cross the gap?
Call me a noob, but I wonder about this, too. Even if you can't mega flip over, why not just go out of your way for Epona? You'd still be saving time compared to the current route, wouldn't you?

omg necro If this game were to be ran, there'd pretty much need to be the choice of speed or entertainment. The two are almost mutually exclusive in this game. If you're aiming for speed, you'll need to do bad at the game, because in the course of even a normal run, you're going to get an upgrade to your rank. If you can avoid Soldier of Song, it saves a fair chunk of time. I just tried doing a nonTASed low% run and got the rank right before the last level pair, getting Cs and Ds on each level and completely avoiding all spinners. However, with games like this, the only thing that makes sense to me is to get 100% on each course. It'd be more entertaining, in my opinion. Though, it'd be interesting to have a run that demonstrated all of the animations that happen through each course on the top screen. You wouldn't be able to all of the intermission scenes in a single run of a course, though. I just figured I'd mention what I see as the options for such a run. *shrug*

Uhm, ToolAssist BLJ'd on the BoB stairs in one of his newer freeruns. I tried on WF stairs when I was a much worse TASer and had a crappy angle, but it was possible.
The BoB BLJ. Dunno if it's possible to actually get to BBH with this, but I figured I'd link this for the lazier folks out there.

Hello, everyone. I was looking through this thread, and I noticed that money was an issue. While I don't have time to dig through ten pages of discussion at the moment (though I did search the thread), I notice no one suggested the trick of buying several Mystery? and then bringing them to Tayce T. to cook into a better item. The Mystery? will cook into a random recipe, and I believe it can, in fact, become any but the best of recipes (Jelly Ultra, and maybe some others). It has been a while since I played, but when I needed money, this was always the trick I used. It's possible to turn 1 coin from purchasing a Mystery? into 300 coins from the outcome. I just thought, if money was still an issue (again, I apologize for not being able to go through the whole thing at the moment), this would be a rather simple fix, especially considering that you have to go through the Boo's Mansion, anyway (and I believe you can also find some in the environment before then). EDIT: I would also like to submit for review the idea of getting one more level of BP than currently planned. You can use the extra slot for the Spike Shield Badge (which takes no detouring) and use it as necessary. Should it prove UNnecessary, it can simply be switched out for the FP Plus Badge. I forget if there are any necessary spiked fights, and I realize that the use of a Hammer (unless the enemy is not on the ground) or partner can get around this, but perhaps switching the badge on/off takes less extra frames than the Hammer/partner attack would.
