Somebody has usually made a highlights/bloopers reel of these events. That's been about 2-3 hours of content, which has been quite entertaining indeed. It may take a half a year before such a reel is edited and published, though.

Hahah, indeed! Player now moves at 10% of the normal speed. I wonder if this is the ultimate hardest setting? Can you think of any setting to make the game even harder?

And again with the not-highest-possible difficulty level...
Interestingly, Nightmare isn't the hardest skill level. We can start Doom using these parameters: "doom.exe -skill 4 -fast -respawn" The above parameters give harder difficulty than just using "skill 5". That is because in Nightmare the ammo pickups are doubled. The above parameters would essentially be the same as skill 5, but without extra ammo. It would be a completely valid skill level, and also the hardest one, but nobody wants to use it, because it is not a popular setting when playing Doom. The plain "skill 4" is by far the most popular setting. That is why we get Ultra-Violence TASes. If we want hard, then 100% runs should use "doom.exe -skill 4 -fast". Funnily, in a TAS environment this setting might actually be easier than plain "skill 4" 100% run, because fast monsters kill each other faster. Also, less RNG manipulation would be required, because fast monsters move less and shoot much more, thus behaving more predictably. Customizable settings are nice. I wish all NES games had Doom's parameters... "SMB3 -fast -respawn"

Who all has edit rights for that page, and which one of them wants to sift through and monitor this thread for bounties?
Any editor can edit the page. Maybe you could become an editor yourself? Just ask an admin to grant you the power.

Thanks Pokota, maybe the first bounty should be given to somebody who actually keeps the bounty list updated? (Not me.)

Okay, but then why 2 and a half months after such TAS's became acceptable?
Akse is just being polite by not crowding the submission queue with Doom submissions. It is a nice thing to do, because it gives the site encoders time to learn how to handle Doom submissions.

Good work, MUGG! How about a new thread and/or a wiki page for clarity? Maybe even a new forum section to keep track of bounties/donations? I think it is both surprising and newsworthy that a single undiscovered trick has suddenly gathered a significant bounty.

I would offer a counter-suggestion that perhaps a donation to the site would a better option for a bounty?
I agree with ars4326. The system should also have an option to make the donation to a trusted charity, just like the charity speedrun marathons do. Since TASing is timeless, it might require a bit different approach than live speedrunning. Maybe we could have a page/thread that lists all currently pending donations that are being offered for whatever game/category + info on who has donated and where the donation is targeted? It would be a "Wishlist 2.0" where people could offer meaningful donations to make their TAS wish come true. It might look something like this: DONATOR / AMOUNT / DESCRIPTION / DONATED TO henke37 / 10$ / for any% Lomax TAS / donated to tasvideos MUGG / 50$ / for barrier skip in Zelda Wind Waker / donated to Nach charity Aqfaq / 1$ / for obsoleting any published run by Aqfaq / donated to autism research

Hi CReTiNo! Nice first submission. It looks like the precision could be improved, but the game choice is good and I liked the run, so voting yes!

How about using BOINC to make it learn quicker? Who needs protein folding, when you can fold SMW.

We should also be aware that in the LMP demo format turning resolution is lowered. This means that any LMP necessarily makes unoptimized movements compared to a run that would use controller input directly. In the future there will probably be a method (e.g. a user friendly version of JPC-RR) for recording runs without using the LMP format and then these discrepancies will be solved for good. Until then, enjoy the runs!

I love the -fast category
Light_Speed has made a -fast TAS for all Ultimate Doom episodes. I hope they get submitted here someday: http://doomedsda.us/col415.html The -fast category is basically 100% kills with harder monsters, so TASVideos might value it more than the regular 100% category.
