Get the heart in the Lilipad temple. Buy potion from Purapril. Save. Get the Pygmy Sword. Get heart and return magic from Poseidon's Shrine. Use return. Save. Cross the desert. (Get the Pygmy Armor later.) That's very probably the fastest route.

Good work Fabian! How about getting Pygmy Armor later using Ceramic Boots? I guess Ceramic Boots must be bought anyway. I'll probably try some version your route when I have time. If you get new ideas, please post them! :)

Excellent, Fabian! That route is certainly worth trying. I hate swimming anyway! Oh, I just remembered that the return spell saves a lot of time when you get the Pygmy Armor (near the beginning of the game). Now, it is very hard to tell what route is the fastest one without trying them. Somehow I feel that this movie will not be finished anytime soon... but maybe we'll see quality in the end. :)

Thank you Fabian. Does the quality of armor really reduce the damage of the heat in the desert?

I made some extra fun for all those who enjoy glitches. :) These sick things can be performed only in the end of the game. Use my savestates so you don't have to watch the whole movies. And try not to laugh too much... I have obtained the Pygmy Sword. At this point my movie is 3 minutes faster than maTO's version. I did not buy the Knight Sword and getting any shield seems to make the movie slower. Sorry, I'm not going to update the WIP file. You'll have to wait for the final product. ;) I still haven't found any glitches at all! Here are some things I have not tested yet: 1. Get to the pyramid without Oasis Boots 2. Skip some animated sequence (after killing the Demon King for example) Anyone interested trying these?

It was easy. I just made a savestate in the beginning of the game and then checked out who the murderer was. Then I loaded the game and accused him immediately.

I wanted to have some training in luck manipulation and accidentally ended up making this movie. Please, forgive me, I almost actually submitted it. Here is the link for the perfect crap: http://www.freewebs.com/aqfaq/Aqfaq-Clue-Perfect-TAS.gmv ROM: Clue (U) [!].bin Emulator: gens_movie_test9c

After few decades we may have quantum computers powerful enough to produce perfect input for any game in less than a second. So, I don't think it's impossible that we eventually see all games done perfectly. Seriously! :)

I recommend playing Abuse on the hardest skill level. The levels 11-16 are lovely! Not unbeatable game, but extremely challenging and fun and cool. Maybe it was a bit too difficult to gain any more popularity.

Hey! Thanks! The reasons for all dying are health, help bonuses, invulnerability and as Truncated said: "to not die later in an even worse place". I tried to do many things, but dying was always the best approach. To improve this movie significantly: 1. Find a way to kill bosses instantly (Power Blade style). They have 0 health when they appear. The problem is that weapons disappear when they fly offscreen. (So, this is probably impossible.) 2. Find better shortcuts with the bomb. For example to the boss at 3-3. (This is probably not going to work.) 3. After arriving to the final boss room, don't make the boss appear. Instead jump down to the hole where it comes from to complete world 4-1. Then the game gets pretty glitched and you can't stop laughing. Then try to complete world 4-2 by walking and jumping randomly. This all can be done faster than killing the boss! All you have to do now is complete world 4-3 with this method. (Probably impossible...) Hey, I'm starting to be pretty close to 1000 also!

Ah, DOS, slowdown, re-recording... I'd definitely enjoy making some X-COM movies. These would be cool also: Alone in the Dark Crusader: No Regret Ultima VII Warcraft

Yeah, the first estimation is always vey very wrong. My second estimation is that my movie will be about 5-7 minutes shorter than yours, but it is a well known fact that the estimations always kinda suck. ;) Thank you very much for showing me some things that were not worth doing. Hopefully you had lots of fun.

Great work maTO! I'll keep following your progress to enhance my own. Currently, I'm trying to kill the 1st boss as fast as I can while getting as much gold as possible. Being perfect here is pretty difficult, but... I seem to have started this project now, so the result is not going to be any slower than necessary. :)

Thanks! I'm not yet sure how to use the gold. If I don't buy the knight sword, I can buy the Marine Boots earlier and they speed up walking a lot. In my test run (not recorded), I didn't buy the Knight Sword and the 2nd boss fight lasted very very long. One possibility is to collect enough money to buy all as soon as possible: Knight Sword, Ladder Boots and Marine Boots. I'm not sure, but they might be the only things that are worth buing. So, no need to collect gold after that. The problem now is, should I collect the 1st heart container? I think: yes. Collecting it costs only 3 seconds. Those seconds can very probably be gained back later as I can take a bit more damage here and there. All other heart containers require more time to get. If I have time to continue doing this, I will update the file sometimes.

Ok, so you managed to download it, but failed to playback it correctly? Here it is, I try not to compress it because it's a small file. EDIT: Removed a purposeless link.

I don't know what's wrong with it. I can download it myself. Can someone help? (edit: never mind, I think it works now...) EDIT: No, it doesn't work! Aaargh!

Thanks again, maTO! The first 3 minutes might look something like this: eh, look below... There is heavy luck manipulation in the coin collecting. Can somebody prove me it can be done faster?

Thank you very much, maTO! Your work looked good and you played amazingly well considering the very low re-record count. I have more than 700 re-records in a minute! You have only 1400 in 26 minutes! Hmm. How were you going to collect all the pygmy equipment (required later in the game), you didn't seem to care about those? Is there some secret way to get them fast or did you just not plan the route correctly? I would not have bought the shell shield. I'm not sure about the knight sword... And the leather boots and marine boots are a bit faster on the land than the basic boots, aren't they? I have tested collecting 30 coins as fast as possible to buy the leather boots near the beginning. Does anyone want to host the WIP file? Sorry, I don't know exactly how much faster I can make this, but if I really start recording something, you helped me a lot because I can compare my route to your's! And yes, this game is fun. :)
