Nice work, yes vote! There's a real time improvement you missed. On Bald Bull, it's actually faster in real time to knock him down with an uppercut when he's dizzy.
Bleh, I don't even care about realtime improvements and that's so early in the movie. However, I'm working on the update now, it will be a 28 frame realtime improvement, for what that's worth.

thanks, adelikat, also, while you're retasing/changing things, if it's possible could you change Gabby and Heike's pauses to be fp? and then obviously buffer start again to unpause ASAP. Those were the only things I had slight issue with, other than that great tas!
oh wait, I realize Gabby is literally the first fight, probably not worth fixing, could still do Heike if you aren't there yet.

DJ, read the description of this movie, he credits Zallard1 for discovering this strat, he did not, he was the 6th person to pull it off RTA.

I was able to get the movie to play, although it desynced in the Von Kaiser fight. Dunno what went wrong to cause the instant movie end for feos.
Yes iirc the exact place where it desyncs is it is supposed to (and it works on my laptop) skip the kaiser opening cutscene on the first frame, but it fails to do this and then desyncs/goes off the ropes

I'd want someone else to try replaying this to at least get the movie to run. Also when you start the remake, please post interim versions so others make sure in advance they work properly and sync and stuff.
Do I post those to the discord? or to this page? or somewhere else on TASVideos? either way will do

I match the config, but once I start the movie, Dolphin instantly says "Movie end" and nothing is happening.
Yeah it might just be because this movie is poorly tased to say the least, I'll remake it sometime but I think this specific submission can be rejected

Could you share your Config and Graphics settings for Dolphin, and maybe your PC specs? Maybe someone could sync it if they set their settings the same as yours, or as a last resort, if they have the same graphics card.
Uhhh, well I could do this but I TASed this on a Macbook air so I don't know how viable an encode would be even if someone was able to get it to sync on theirs. That being said, do you want every page of config and graphics settings? Or just specific parts of it. It was also on an NKit which I didn't know at the time is not optimal for TASing.

If you have any sort of save in Punch-Out!! Wii already, highlight Punch-Out!! and Right Click>Open Wii Save Folder. Then Delete/drag out the banner.bin file and save_game file. If those are in the TAS will have a fatal desync immediately due a pop up showing up when there is no save inside of it, that isn't there when there is a save loaded. If that doesn't fix it well shit, guess I'll have to delete this submission and someday reTAS the entire goddamn thing again.

I've updated the description with a slightly reworded version of this, in order to stay consistent with site style.
Definitely for the best, I'm quite shit at wording sentences if you can tell from the Sparring notes :D

Hey Awosomeandy, I wrote the publication text for this submission a bit generically as I had a hard time interpreting the improvements that were made. If you provide a very brief (1 sentence preferably, 2 tops) summary of improvements over the previous TAS, I can update the text! Of course it can also remain as it is if you are satisfied. And actually, it doesn't have to be me that updates it, but in fact any editor if you have someone in particular in mind.
Sure, here's what I had in mind to add to it: "This new TAS of Doc Louis's Punch-Out!! improves Sparring by incorporating a newly discovered Instant Knock-Out to the game. Saving 3 seconds from Sparring's previous TAS."

I'm assuming PokerPlayer did the encode already? but that could be something else. I could do the encode if there is a source on how to do it, if it hasn't been done already.

It is not only the accurate emulation which is making it seem slower. Delaying by 150 frames may be the main thing making it seem slower. McHazard delayed the time screen for every fight by 20 frames, while this TAS doesn't do that. 40 frames saved there. However, we delay by 150 frames so that Doc's first attack comes out a frame (0.06 in-game seconds) earlier. This nets 110 frames lost in real time.
That is correct, however I believe "150" was an approximation when zallard looked into the cutscene, I believe I wait around 110-120, this appeared to be the first frame I could skip cutscene and still get 36.32, instead of only being able to get 36.38. This also means that the TAS with McHazard's strat was actually 39.32, not 39.38, because he instantly skipped the cutscene.

I can confirm sync. And I give this a yes vote, good job :)
Thank you! aswell as making sure I set up this TAS correctly, also tried to make it less boring than my previous lol. I have one quick question, will this TAS be shown as slower than McHazard, because it is a bit slower in real time? even though it's faster in game time?

My other submission was rejected so I made a new one, stops input at correct time (although still a frame or two slower than McHazard because I opted to waste a bit of real time to save 0.06 in game time, as that is more my goal), and also movie file was made starting from beginning and with Dual Core off.

While the submission states that the .dtm starts from a savestate, I DMed the author on Discord, who said it does not.
I'm doubting this claim. The byte indicating a savestate start does seem to be set to indicate a state was used. The DTM also seems strange. Lag frames are stated to be 0, although game boot appears to have 3 lag frames at least, so that count doesn't make sense. Dual core is reported to be enabled according to the DTM (which is a really bad sign, and might screw over this movie regardless of the state issue). And I can't seem to play back this movie at all, it immediately freaks out over input sizes being wrong on the first input (which different settings can't seem to fix at all, I would guess this state is to blame). Awosomeandy, I have no idea on whether DJ actually DM'd you, so I'll let you just answer in this thread about this reported savestate start. Along with the other oddities I listed.
I'll be honest, I'm a pretty awful TASer and the only reason I'm doing this was to obsolete McHazard. In the past I have only ever been able to get a movie to start from a savestate, but this one in particular when I went to replay it started from frame 0, leading me to believe that it didn't tsart form a save state. If it does I'm not lying, I just simply don't know, but I suspected it didn't. Anyone in this thread I'm sure knows more about TASing than I do, so any help to redo it/fix the current problems would be great.

No, those are just the people who helped make the strats, I tased this movie in particular myself.
