You're gonna have to remember that he starts each level with eggs, while SDA prohibits that... Well, for single levels anyway, for an SS it would be fine I suppose.

A program called BWChart analyzes replay files and tells what engine they use (1.12 and 1.13 use same engine)

It'd probably be really hard, considering cameras in 2d (just an x and y coordinate) are a lot easier to manipulate than cameras in 3d (x, y and z and also a direction vector)

It would be more impressive if you were playing at least against a computer or something, some of these look like they could be escaped from when the other member runs up (during a hold)

Aw, I was hoping you redid forest when I saw the save state... You could definitely take the hover boots off right after you get the first key in the tree, and of course the block pushing. Gonna watch the rest of it now.

Is there a value in memory that changes when a boost is ready? That would make things real easy. =) Can you start charging a new boost as soon as the old boost is released? That is, charging the frame after boosting...Hope that made sense.

Plus Acryte has said he has skipped King Zora with 6 bombs and the flying trick.
I think getting 6 bombs before Zora would take more time than watching his ass move.

What we ought to decide first is what character to use; Pipsy and Tiptup seem like optimal candidates because they can get silver coins really easily, I don't know if any of the faster characters would be faster because of just how freaking hard it is to turn and keep your speed up (plus acceleration issues). I've been trying to see if turbo-ing A is faster than just plain accelerating; the hovercraft and plane don't start moving unless you hold A, but the car does. However it would be hard to optimize the point at which you stop holding A and start turbo-ing (I hope that made sense). Any help would be appreciated.

AKA also claimed to have gotten 50 seconds on dam in goldeneye 007 and 4:40 on OoT without proof. It might just be a dead end.

Is there a backup plan in case the poe boost isn't possible for any reason? Otherwise the whole route would be in jeopardy...

If you saw the 70 star run, some people actually thought it was a TAS because they couldn't believe it was a single segment speed run.

Desync; comps rape the player and run around aimlessly for an hour.

I think so, but working with a very long movie (1.7MB), the save states while recording are typically around 150KB. So I'm not really sure any more... maybe it uses compression?
Savestates are just dumps of the RAM, they should be the same size for each game no matter what the size of the movie.
