Oh, God! Congratulations for finally getting it under 2 hours! I'm so watching this. Just too bad you're done with this game, though. And probably no chance you'll work on SH2.

Now those bosses really got it bad. Overall, quite extreme.

Yeah, gief moar Julius. I liked the SDA run and would enjoy seeing a TAS of it.

Overall the run is pretty sloppy and I think I can do 5-6 seconds faster. If so, should I just give him credits or add him as a co-author (since his discovery is the only reason for redoing this run) even though he's not a member of this site?
I don't think there exists a single run on this site that wouldn't use a tactic discovered by someone else. So no, I wouldn't say it's necessary to add him as a co-author. Just remember to credit him nice and well on submission text.

So I don't mean to ask whether you use a controller or keyboard or TASing, or what kind of game choices do you make, or how much time you spend on TASing a segment, etc. What I mean is: how do you get the TASing done? For example: *When I TAS, I always listen to either classical or jazz music. Ambient is okay too. It ultimately relaxes me, thus I'm able to concentrate better. *Another habit of mine is to have pen and paper always next to me. Firstly, I write there all the numbers down. Secondly, while trying to come up with a solution for something, doing something advances my thinking, even if it's drawing something abstract. *I also prefer TASing at night, because nothing can interrupt me. I "should't be doing something else", MSN isn't bothering me and dog doesn't need to go out. *I get dismotivated often so I have to get my hands on something else. That's why I'm TASing 2-3 games at the same time. When I get bored with one, I pick another and continue it for a while. This is why my TASes take a long time to get finished usually. So are you as neurotic as I am? Let's share it all. Edit: Since keyboard/controller and button hotkey choices seem to be pretty personal, it's not a bad idea mentioning them too. *I'm tasing with an xbox360 controller, even 2player tases. And frame advance is always on space bar. You can just imagine how hard it gets sometimes executing input.

Yeah... I really should have known Elecman as well. But Sparkman I really really should have known, since it's my favorite track from mm3 :(. Anyway, YAY! Edit: Also, gief more of these. It's fun stuff.

Funny how I didn't get right the game I'm TASing. Even after listening to it again I can't recognize it. Edit: Ok, after putting on headphones I can catch the melody. Maybe should've thought of that earlier... I found this fun eventhough I participated kinda late. And I found nothing wrong with sending the answers via PM. Go go NES!

I can't believe how smooth your WIP looks, even with the crazy ADHD sliding. Keep on kicking it.

Usually GnG games require you to complete the game twice, unless you use the code.

In any case, looks like this underapreciated game finally got the TAS it deserves. I guess this is also a good reason to justify myself never trying a TAS again :P Edit: After watching this, I guess my TAS should never even have been accepted. At least Truncated's decision eventuelly led to something worth watching.
It's always easier to improve someone else's movie than start from a clean table. Indeed, don't be so hard on yourself. Your run might have sparked the inspiration for this improvement anyway. I remember seeing the old TAS. Gonna check this out too.

There is some other ending if you collect all the letters (P-I-T-F-A-L-L). I'm not sure what the other ending would be like though.

Making a youtube video for PSX games really is helpful. Pretty sweet TAS I must say. Nice to get more PSX submissions. 8.5 / 8.8

I meant differences gameplay-wise. Because if there are any, my test-run wouldn't be of any help for a PSX run. Although I do admit that a Rayman TAS should be made with the PSX version.

I'm actually making a testrun for Rayman Advance. I don't know if there are any differences between the versions though.

Is it possible? I got this idea from playing on the Mega Man Anniversary Collection! I was wondering if it was possible to do a speedrun with no lag and switching weapons with the press of a button! Sounds like a neat idea! :)
Please elaborate. Are you talking about NES Mega Man? What do you mean "switching weapons with the press of a button"? Also, what does "no lag" have to do with anything? Isn't this quite an arbitrary goal?
The Anniversary Collection lets you change weapons without entering the weapon select menu with L and R buttons (like in MMX games). No, it's not for NES. GC, PSX etc. I think.

Lion King... I can't believe this bandit guy two posts above didn't like the movie. I watched it with friends ~two years ago, and I just got chills thorough the whole movie. It's so dramatic it's fantastic. Oh, poor Mufasa :(

Revolver... I watched it about a year ago. I thought it was kind of silly for several reasons. First of all, the movie's name, Revolver, doesn't play any part with the movie itself. The front cover of the movie is equally misleading too. Because what the movie actually is about, is mainly chess. Yeah, chess. It even has interviews of professional chess players after the ending. Even other of the villains is a chess pro. I must agree I liked the music too. IIRC it's mostly classical music actually, Beethoven and stuff. But they fit laughably well in the scenes. And indeed, the movie tries to "get inside your head", as the characters get their heads stuffed with stuff. It didn't get inside my head though, I thought it was kinda silly. I wouldn't watch it again.

Maybe someone could do what's often been done for Super Metroid and make an encoding that removes all the transition/cutscene frames. Obviously such an encoding couldn't be published, but they do tend to make for more entertaining movies. MM2 has by far the longest "weapon get" cutscenes of the NES series. :\
Then again, there are only eight "weapon get" cutscenes, which can be skipped on both the .avi and on emulator. In Super Metroid, the door transitions take quite a while, and there are loads of them.

This looks more like a catwalk than a speedrun. In fact, your Gutsman stage could be improved playing in real-time. I won't even start listing things that went wrong in your WIP.

I find no words to describe the awesomeness put into this. 9.9/9.9, just because 10/10 won't ever happen!
