Let's wait until one of them complains.
Megaman: Hey that guy stole my name! Megaman X: No, he stole my name! Megaman: But your name's X. Megaman X: My name contains your name! Megaman.EXE: And my name contains your name! Megaman Volnutt: Hey guys, can I be a Megaman too? Megaman X: No, we disowned you a long time ago. Megaman Volnutt: =( Megaman: Don't get so down. Maybe you can make a comeback on the PSP (by rereleasing an old game with slightly better graphics)!

Hmm, yeah, I can see how the remote bombs could help that way. I just have to fall down a level with one of those overhanging snow chunk things to get it. I was thinking the red bombs might help kill the snowboarders, because I'm not having much luck with pumped bombs. My plan right now is to scale a different side of the mountain on each run. The time card run should also get a costume piece on the way up. The other run should take care of everything else.

Why not just turn on the frame counter?

So does Sync Sound With CPU make the crackles or the crash? Or both? Because I would like to get rid of the crackles.

Missed shots could be used to manipulate luck, too.

So which enemies are you thinking I should beat repeatedly? Do you think the red or remote items will help? I was thinking I could beat an enemy or two each time I wait for the wind to dissipate.

No, space is a big issue! I still don't get the point of knowing when the non-input frames happen.

normally, a link is done as follows: http://tasvideos.org/ gives you this: http://tasvideos.org/ If you do this instead: Link to Nesvideos then you'll get Link to Nesvideos clickable, sending you to that website, without showing a (possibly) huge long url. Similar to the <A HREF> tag in HTML. Not a big deal since we hit a new page, but for future reference. Also, you don't have to put the part after the /###/ of the url on DeHackEd's microstorage. It still links to the same page. [Edited by Bisqwit: real brackets]
Actually, it turns out that even though the filename in the link doesn't affect the description on the page itself, it does affect the link you get from it. If the filename part of the link is wrong, you can't get your download!
Okay, I just tried this again, this time all the way. It turns out you CAN get your download, but the default name is based on whatever you typed in for the link.

How about two categories: "Manipulates luck some" and "Manipulates luck a whooooooooole lot!"

Aw, but then it'll be just like all the other emulator movies...

Does Jabo's input plugin have the RawData option too?

Did you make sure it actually saves time to catch the wand high? Because Mario's going to have to fall all the way down anyway... But the falling-down scene is probably on a timer, so if it is, then never mind.

btw, since the metroid2002 topic got locked (eh, locking is so nazi), i'd say "computer aided optimization" (cao) would be much more accurate than "tool-assisted speedrun."
Not bad... But I was thinking that since people want to emphasize that an emulator movie doesn't have to be "tool-assisted", a "tool-assisted run" could be known as a "time-edited emulator run", while a "non-tool-assisted run" (meaning no pausing, slowing down, or rerecording) done on an emulator could be known as a "non-stop emulator run". Something like that. (You could also argue that "tool assistance" doesn't have to "optimize" a run in the traditional sense.)

As for the speedrun section at this forum, do those runs get posted at this site?
Just the MegaRockMan one, I think.

That's one of the main reasons I picked this game, actually. I figured it would look awesome to see this game done without playing it safe and making mistakes. And the 30 enemy goal that some people worried would slow the game down actually seems to be making it much more interesting. Now I wonder which side of the snow mountain level I should work on first. I already know I can skip the avalanche bit with a bomb bridge to the door... But it looks to be really annoying to get the 30 enemies in this one. I may have to repeat a small area a few times.

I found the setting that fixes the desync problem. I had to turn RawData off.

What, record how many real frames have passed for each input frame? Wouldn't that make the file a lot bigger? You'd be adding some number of bytes per frame, and you don't know how large it could get, so you might not know the maximum number of bytes you need per frame in advance. That may be a problem.
