What do you mean by "Actual" tools anyway? Do you know anything other than an emulator that is commonly used to slowdown and make savestates?

Yeah, when you think about it, the "tools" really don't refer to the emulator so much as they refer to making a movie outside of normal gameplay. Some games actually implement "slowdown" or "savestates" as features. And since slowdown and savestates don't quite cover everything, I guess putting them into the name might not be adequate. But "tool" just seems too general a term to mean anything to me. (AND NO I AM NOT AN IDIOT WHO CLASSIFIES HANDS AS TOOLS) ("THEY'RE THINKING OF CHANGING THE NAME TO 'FOOL TIME' WITH 'FIM "THE FOOL MAN" FAILURE'") Anyway, I don't want to be called a tass! I won't submit another movie if I'm going to be called a tass in the name!

We should use older, more established terms. Therefore, e.g., we should continue to use 'tidal wave' instead of 'tsunami.'
How about a compromise: "Tsunami wave!"

Isn't that Windows's problem for trying to find the first frame of a movie it can't read?

I don't see a point in it either, hence why I haven't answered.
Maybe it's spoofing all those "How old are you?" topics you always see on message boards. Anyway, you're not getting my personal information just by asking politely! NYAH!

Speed run times are only impressive if they just barely fall within large whole units of human time measurement!

What I like to do is find hacks of games that only change the graphics and play existing movies with them.

Well, make sure the speed is low enough that you can really get it perfect. Meggy should only stand up for one frame between slides! Seriously! And minimizing your jumping time will maximize your sliding time, so try to do that, too. You could look at my WIPs for the Game Boy game to get some ideas for the style, although I'm going to put up an improved fight against RingMan, and I think I can improve the fight against ToadMan, too.

Heh, I just tried the Pharaoh Shot trick, and it works differently. (The trick is to start charging, slide, and then let go of B. You'll keep charging while you slide, so stop the slide early and press B simultaneously to shoot an extra ball.) When you fire the extra shot on the NES, the charged shot gets stuck above your head. You no longer need to hold B to keep it there. You can still bash enemies with it, but you can't fire it off anymore. You can even charge up another Pharaoh Shot, and it'll overlap with the stuck one.
