Maybe use operating system timestamps? I know when you right-click a file in Windows and open its' properties, you can see its' creation time, last modified time, and last time accessed. This of course is not cheat-proof (you can always spoof your operating system's time) but it's an idea.

I saw a topic about this on GameFAQs. I knew it was gonna be pannenkoek offering the bounty without even watching the video.

You aren't the only one. Bowser in the Sky literally gave me a headache, although the fact that today has been one long (seasonal) allergy attack probably isn't helping me.

I was also wondering, is wall-clock speed or season count preferred for this TAS? The strategies will be vastly different, as assassinations or even waiting for enemies to die of old age could be much faster than fighting battles. Also, putting grants on certain fiefs will speed things up, but sacrifice the gold and rice that could be sent, taking more seasons to attack.
Length of game input (wall clock) is the typical metric we measure by, but turn count is equally valid. If the two provide distinct viewing experiences, as you seem to think they would, then both of them might be publishable. This run might still be publishable as well, if it provides that distinct viewing experience from the Level 5 run you've started.

That was wonderfully entertaining, and shows your improving skills quite well. Easy Yes Vote™.

Looking forward to it. Been watching the WIPs off and on, and I'm not sure whether to be impressed at all the time saved from my original run, or embarrassed that I apparently did that bad a job. -_-

Derakon resume all...and i also don't wanna break the feeding coins rule.
The rule on feeding extra coins is only meant to prevent abuse in games like the Metal Slug series (in some of them, using a continue gives you a Heavy Machinegun) or Captain America and The Avengers, where you can literally buy health in increments of 100 with coins.

Also worth remembering that time gains from faster text are discounted.

Not to mention, different cores have different system requirements.

A run full of "Luigi wins by doing absolutely nothing" would be amazing from a technical standpoint because of the luck manipulation required, but as mentioned, it would probably in indistinguishable from the same thing happening in realtime.

Unfortunately, calling it a "Warpless" run won't fly either; since you intended this to be a 100% run, you beat every level in Worlds 1 and 2; by the logic of the "Warpless" category, that makes your routing significantly suboptimal. I would recommend you simply cancel this, and seek feedback from the users who frequent the NES Games forum. From what I watched, this was not a bad first submission. Rough, but serviceable, aside from your not knowing how we defined 100% for this game.

100% is defined here, by the NES SMB3 run, as "All levels and all monster encounters on the world map." You skip the Boomerang Bro holding a hammer, and the Fire Bros in World 2. Stopped watching there, and voting No. Also, there are lots of little suboptimalities. I did like that you stopped for the Ghost Mushroom House in World 1, though.

If it is "so easy" for someone to beat your movie, that implies that it's not optimal, which does not bode well for its' acceptance. We are not a repository of any kind of tool-assisted movies; we aim to host the best of the best, both in speed and in entertainment.

This is the second MMX game. There are 12 physical buttons on the SNES controller. 2*12 = 24. The author's name is Hetfield90. 90 - 24 = 66. 66 turned upside-down is 99. Mega Man has two eyes. 99 is two digits of 9. You know what that means, people?
You missed the most important part! There are 3 Mega Man X games on SNES. 9 / 3 = 3 HALF-LIFE 3 CONFIRMED

You're forced to break your own rule at frame 13531 to clear the pit, either by wall-jumping (which is a glitch, and what HappyLee did) or by running (which is not a glitch, and what you did.) I don't think this is a good set of categories to combine for SMB. In addition, you do absolutely nothing to liven up the movie (collecting coins, killing enemies, etc.) Voting No.

I loved the explanation at the end. But what did quitting the level after the first staircase accomplish?

Was doing some casual playing and I'm fairly sure I've discovered that mission parameters are set when you accept the mission. I took three bounty missions, saved the game, then ran that 3-mission set twice. Both times the bounty targets were at the same sequence of waypoints.

I liked it. Fast movement throughout and lots of enemies dying quickly. Yes vote. Also, what was the music from the Wily levels? I know I've heard it but am having a brainfart on where.

I was reasonably entertained, but I agree that the current Moon run is way better in that regard. No vote on entertainment, but this is perfect for the Vault.

Samsara: I've never had that kind of psychological harm inflicted on me by another person, but I tend to be super critical of myself and the things I do, more so when I'm off the meds. As an example, maybe a month and a half ago, I was in danger of getting myself and my roommate kicked out of our place because I had let it go for quite a while without cleaning, and our landlord was not happy about it, so I spent most of a Friday night and part of the following Saturday busting my ass getting the place cleaned up. The landlord was more than satisfied when he stopped by the following Tuesday, but in the interim I was scared of what he'd think, and half-convinced myself that I deserved to be thrown out, no matter how good a cleaning job I'd done.
