Now we need a run that crashes the game (and destroys the ROM in the process) for April Fool's Day.

My mind is blown. The "Fuck (insert obstacle)" was hilarious. How certain are you guys that you'll finish by the end of the year?

Doesn't seem to be much information about it out there. Is there a reference implementation anywhere?
You could always ask Nach about it. Alternatively, NSRT is (I believe) the only way to compress a ROM with JMA. The most I know about it is that it's based on LZMA.

You can post the updated .fm2 here and ask for someone with the right permissions to replace the submission.

Trying to watch adelikat's current submission of The Flintstones: The Rescue of Dino and Hoppy, I only get about 40 FPS. Also tried Super Metroid to test a different core, and I get 50-55 FPS on that. Get full speed on the Genesis core, though. My specs: Windows XP Professional SP3 x86 Intel Core Duo processor, 1.82GhZ x2 cores (rated 2.7 GhZ) 2gb DDR2 RAM Intel 950GMA graphics (shared with RAM, 224mb max allocation, Pixel Shader 2.0) I installed .Net Framework and DirectX separately AFTER running the dependency installer.

Was actually just doing it after your response to mklip2001 in the Flintstones submission thread. It worked.

Would you be able to implement support for Nach's JMA ROM compression? Or alternatively, does lsnes already support some other form of compressed ROM?

Having just run the prerequisites installer, I get the following Windows error message following an immediate crash, running XP Pro SP3:
EventType : clr20r3 P1 : bizhawk.multiclient.exe P2 : 1.0.1.3169
P3 : 505f4621 P4 : bizhawk.multiclient P5 : 1.0.1.3169 P6 : 505f4621
P7 : 5ff P8 : 54 P9 : system.io.filenotfoundexception
I don't know how to get Windows to let me copy the full error report.

I have to agree that this run does enough differently from the published any% to warrant acceptance. It's clearly good technically, and entertaining too.

I have one concern before I make my vote: Was there no way to damage boost around the downstairs segment in Stage 02? Or did you need the health for the critical hit glitch at the boss?

The only place you would take damage to save time is in Stage 3, at some of the poison vents. The time saved would be minimal, probably 5 or 10 seconds total. Remember too, it's not just about fastest time, it's about making it look cool.

It's actually "1584," not "158."

Looked excellent, and I'm glad to hear that those wall-kicks I found helped save time. Yes vote.

I don't see that we necessarily have to obsolete the published warped run because it uses the same glitch this one does. I would argue thusly: Publish this as a new category, and stipulate that any new 2-player run must either be warpless, or use the glitch to its' fullest effect as this run did. EDIT: Derp-a-derp, I forgot that we already HAD a 2p warpless. Color me confused, then.

Same thing I said for MvSF. I saw very little in here that the fighting community didn't already have numerous videos for long long ago. I expected/hoped for a lot more finesse and creativity instead of mostly the old and played out infinites.
The thing is, this isn't the fighting game community. This is TASVideos. You shouldn't judge something here by their standards. How would you feel if unassisted speedruns were judged by the standards of a TAS? Anyway, I thought this was great. I agree that there was too much Venom, but that's a minor complaint, and not enough to prevent my Yes vote.

I think it's too much of the same action as the Super Mario 64 0-star run to be worth publishing. It shows almost none of the game.

Apparently it's a Time Warner issue.

Is there any way I can check if my connection supports IPv6? I know I have support for it installed, which I double-checked after not being able to connect.

Man, it sounds like a planning nightmare, but the results will be well worth it. The WIPs you guys have released are incredible.

About what is the time spent TASing for each minute of the run? Would you guys be able to make a guess at that? I'm curious just how long it took you to do, say, the 4-7 you posted, which (discounting the goal roulette and score tally) lasted less than a minute,

Can you provide... 1. Links to IPS patches? 2. Links to the version of Gens you used? 3. Links to your GMVs?
