You can just do that quest after you do Silver Soldier and you'll have the meseta you need from doing that. EDIT: For showing off combination attacks, I would say to show off what you can as they come available in the course of the run.

"References to past games" was janus's idea; I just put it down here and took it the extra mile and said "all dialog" too. As for the text going too fast, you can always slow the TAS down. (Or at least you can use frame advance, as Gens doesn't actually have a throttle function, just frameskip.)

I fear that a 100% run might look weird, especially when as you have to go to certain dungeons at certain fixed times (not only to optimize movements but also as some become unavailable when The Edge is attainable.)
If I recall correctly, the only time-specific sidequests are The Ranch Owner (because everyone in Mile dies when The Edge opens) and Silver Soldier (because I don't know why.)

Janus is making some noise in the submission thread for his latest PSIV run about a 100% run, so I figured a topic would be a good idea. Here are my suggestions for the criteria a 100% run should satisfy:
  • Use the Talk/Mumbl command every time the dialog it provides changes.
  • Show all references to past games.
  • Show all dialog from NPCs.
  • Get all unique items.
  • Do all sidequests.
  • Get all of Demi and Wren's extra parts.
Anyone else have anything to add? I'd personally say that a 100% run should show off all of the combination attacks, but I think that'd take too long because of the extra leveling to get high-level techs and skills.

I would certainly watch a 100% run, although the publishability might be questionable.

Wait, Mindblast isn't the sleep attack? Derp. That's the one I meant. Sorry.

I think you're misunderstanding. If you can make him use it on them, isn't that a better idea than having him use it on Rika? If he uses it on them (and it's guaranteed to fail), then nobody's losing a turn.

Good answer. EDIT: Wait, if they're immune to it, isn't that even better, since it won't affect them and you'll have higher per-turn damage? Or will Dark Force not even try to use it on them?

Something I'm curious about in the Dark Force 3 fight; wouldn't it be faster to have Dark Force use Mindblst to put Chaz to sleep instead of Rika? I imagine Rika has better attack power than Chaz, considering he's only level 4. EDIT: Finished watching; the new link works fine. Great job. Voting Yes.

I remember fighting this little jerk in Tekken 3. This game looks fun, so looking forward to a TAS.

Yes, a verification movie to create SRAM or a savestate is always required, because otherwise there's no way for the judges to know that you didn't hack the SRAM/savestate before starting your movie from it.

Carranger was a parody of the Super Sentai concept, and was a hit in Japan. Unfortunately for us, the Americanized Power Rangers Turbo damn near killed the franchise. On-topic: Yes vote. Short and sweet. I wouldn't say no to a "good ending" run, though.

I find it fascinating that every bit of graphic work in this game is done layer 1. On the movie: Well done. Yes vote.

I remember Catscratch (from Gau's Stray Cat rage) hitting like a sledgehammer. If there's any way to get those onto the Veldt, I'd try it.

What the hell did you do to that P-Switch block in Invasion Fleet!? This was an awesome watch, a few boring waiting sequences notwithstanding. I would encourage you to go ahead and submit this; there's a lot of great Mario action, including some stuff we don't get in either the SMW or SDW runs.

I had no idea you were still working on this. Very cool. I see from the SMV info that you saved about 11 minutes compared to my testrun from back in '09; very nice.

I looked at the footnote you added, Moozooh, and it's kind of vague about how the Space/Time Beam does what it does. I'd change it to...
A side effect of the Space/Time beam is that upon saving and reloading, the game will restart from the beginning cutscene, but Samus will keep all of her items (except for Missiles.) By doing this, item collection and the attendant detours can be skipped.
So actually, now that you've got me thinking about it, if the glitch works exactly the same in SNES9X as it does on a real SNES, you wouldn't need a savestate, just SRAM.

There's no need to be so harsh; he simply doesn't understand the rules, and there's a language barrier too. You were much the same when you first started posting and submitting. As for this run, I'll wait on an encode.
