It's a stylistic choice.

I never even managed to find the first Missile pack in Golden Dawn. I much preferred BlackTelomeres's other hack, Dependence. Thanks for reminding me of it. (The link is v1.87; I believe there's a v2.00, but don't know where to find it.)

You didn't play the game in frame-advance/realtime at all? It was all in FCEUX's TAS Editor? Impressive. The movie looks good, and it's an entertaining game. My only issue is that it's too long, but that's not enough to keep me from voting Yes. Congrats on a great first TAS!

Super Mario World: The Second Reality Project Reloaded by FPI is the best SMW hack I've played. I daresay it's even better than the original Super Mario World, by virtue of being bigger and better in every respect.

I'd think a run using Luigi would have a better chance of getting published, since his physics are different in this version. As it is, this was enjoyable, but not different enough from the published SNES run. Voting No.

I think, in addition to all the current listing methods, a listing by game (like SpeedDemosArchive has) would be perfect for games with lots of categories.

If I recall that room right, there's only Grappling Rippers there; can they drop Power Bombs? And if so, I imagine the timing to lay the Power Bomb, drop to kill one and get the item, and get back up, would be almost impossible even under TASing.

EDIT: What I meant is that it might be faster to use the CF trick to come at that room from below AFTER beating Phantoon if you have enough items to CF, instead of going up and around like the game intends you to. And oh yeah, the super comparison video. That was concentrated awesome.

Heh.. I was just looking for different applications of the CF trick when my mind went to the maridia tube. It's only 1 block high, right? If you glitched through that, would there be water on the other side? ..then I remembered that somewhere during the crystal flash, you're bound to drop a power bomb. Drat! :( I found only one place besides GT, but this one will be difficult: gravity without phantoon and xray: Things needed for this to work:
  • The required rooms are all working without killing phantoon. They should be, but you never know.
  • The door leads to the expected room. (The bridge you travel through appears to be a different room, because it has an extra enemy, so who knows?)
  • You can somehow time a CF up there. Space Jump or wall jumps won't help since you can't re-spin after unmorphing, and there's no ground near you. If this is possible at all, it'll have to be done as part of a very tricky IBJ sequence.
Considering that this has been possible with xray for ages, I'm not sure it's worth it. Unless someone considers glitching through a 1-block floor to be less "glitchy" than xray-climbing behind a closed door. Even if possible, it's useless in any% and low% (no grapple, not enough ammo) and 100% (need to kill phantoon and clear WS anyway). It might be useful in an RBO, if you relabel it as "reverse boss order except for phantoon who is totally skipped and we didn't feel like doing Kraid either because we don't need varia any more". Meh.
If it is the same room, this might be a faster way to get the Gravity Suit in an any%, depending on if you have sufficient items to Crystal Flash by then; I kinda doubt it though, since IIRC Phantoon is the first boss fought.

This was one of my first Genesis games back when I was just a kid. Always fun, but I never beat it. Good improvement to FODA's run. Yes vote. ALSO: I think using 1/1 running the whole time would've been fine; seeing Mickey wobbling like he was having a seizure was (for me, at least) utterly hilarious.

If memory serves, the Murder Beam generates tons of lag, so it probably wouldn't do any good. Anyway, this was an awesome run. Just as expected from Saturn. Yes vote, and I'd say to restore the "in-game timer" category.

Where can I find v15? It's not available on the Google Code repository.

Can someone describe what I should be seeing there? All that happens for me is that Saturn commits suicide-by-ramming. EDIT: Okay, looking at the one Kriole posted, it's a way to glitch up to the left-hand door of the Golden Torizo room. I still can't get Saturn's SMV to sync, though. Using v17.

This was supremely awesome. I had watched some of the WIPs, but the final product is just mindblowing. Barring another improvement to Sonic 3 and Knuckles or something, this is easily my vote for TAS of the Year. Obvious Yes vote is obvious.

Goodness me, was that a slow run. However, it contained a bunch of neat tricks and managed to do something long thought impossible. Yes vote, with the request to obsolete the warped walkathon, for this one offers more bang for its buck.
I'll agree with everything here. I very much enjoyed the slower pace of this run.

I think that's true for any game that has a lesser focus on action.

I don't think it's quite an RBO anymore if you're taking out minibosses before the primary bosses, but I'm willing to put that complaint aside on account of HOLY SHIT THAT WAS AWESOME.

http://www.supersmashland.com/ Basically, this is somebody's rendition of what Super Smash Bros. would look and play like on the original Game Boy. Not my forte, but wanted to get this out there.

Voting No on this one. I preferred the normal speed one.

This was great. Nice to see the Ultimate Armor used. Voting Yes, but I partially agree with FractalFusion; if a 100% run is done, it should obsolete this one. I don't see the point to just an all-bosses run with X, since he's the one who benefits from a 100% run.

Isn't hitting the bosses with the saber's beam faster than hitting them with the saber itself.
The saber beam does more damage, yes, but it's damage over time, so it takes longer to do the damage, and then for the bosses' invincibility to wear off. Too, the beam is still not a one-hit kill, so it makes more sense to just do half their health twice with the sword itself.

A friend introduced me waaaaaaay back in 1996 or 1997; I then proceeded to spend tons of dial-up bandwidth downloading as many ROMs as I could. I also raged super-hard at some weird interactions between KGen savestates and games with SRAM which resulted in the savestates being unusable.

I loved this run. Action was good as always, and I really liked the camera angles you guys used. Yes vote for sure.

Btw, why is it not possible to reach the final boss right away, but the minibosses have to be defeated first?
You have to defeat Bowser the first two times to get the keys to different areas of the castle; IIRC, you can't just glitch through the doors because going through them normally loads a new area.

I'll agree with dunniuis and partyboy1a; use the resets, but wait until after the Perfect message. As far as warp-glitching...I'm not sure how I feel about that. I remember Carl Sagan pointing out that you can only do it in four levels (don't remember which ones) which wouldn't be overkill, but at the same time, I'd rather see the levels completed legit instead of seeing 1-1 an extra four times.

My mistake, then. I could have sworn I'd heard something to that effect during a discussion about PS1 games with variable resolutions.
