That was amazing, Selicre. Thank you so much for your effort! EDIT: Was watching a second time, and an idea that occurred to me. Could you reasonably add a border graphic to show where the screen boundary is? I don't think it's critical, but it would be nice.

I believe FM2 is preferred for site submission.

You can cancel it yourself, or wait until 3 days have passed since you submitted for a Judge to be able to reject it, but since there IS a faster record, we can't accept it. Good effort, though! Keep it up!

What is the RTA-equivalent time to this one?

Do you have any compatibility settings applied? If so, what are they? EDIT: Turns out something was just weird in Windows. It's running fine after resetting my system. EDIT 2: Gy-Laguiah WIP looking good!

What operating system are you running? I would like to watch the WIPs but no versions of Gens I have found will run on Windows 10.

That's fair, if you feel you can get a more accurate comparison that way.

I would suggest you stick with/switch back to Bizhawk. More accurate emulation is always preferred, even if it results in times that look longer.

I would guess you seem to be losing time because the more accurate emulation in Bizhawk includes more lag.

I can download the .deb package with no problem, but when I try to run it with the Ubuntu software installer, the info pops up, then I click Install and it does nothing. I used the terminal to install the pre-requisites, but still no dice. I have no idea what logs/diagnostics you guys might need to help me out, so I'm all ears on that front.

I have a substantial library of games on both Steam and GOG. All else being equal, which distribution would be best suited for TASing? The kneejerk answer is "Definitely GOG because they're all DRM-free," but what about if the Steam version doesn't implement any DRM?

I'm exactly in agreement with Spikestuff on this one. For your first effort at TASing, this is pretty darn good. But it's just not quite as good as what we already have. A suggestion if you want to keep on this tack: Luigi is (comparatively) used a lot less in the Warpless run IIRC, so I think a Luigi Warpless would have more unique entertainment than a Luigi Warps

I haven't seen this, but let me say something about game choice. You are free to TAS and submit anything you want. As others have said (and which I will defer to,) this is a good freshman effort. HOWEVER, since this is a hack of Sonic CD, the game itself is subject to judgment alongside the TAS. Is the gameplay in this movie noticeably different from the gameplay in the vanilla Sonic CD movie? That would be one of the things the Judge evaluating your movie (GoddessMaria in this case) would look for when determining if this makes a good fit for the site. Notability around the Internet would be another.

I don't think high-score is a good goal for this version. There are LOTS of waiting times to pick up coins from downed enemies, and that means the run's pacing is terrible, which makes it not particularly fun to watch. Voting No.

Not a bad attempt at all, but it's a bit too plain for me. I noticed later on that you can use the slide to catch back up to the edge of the screen and keep it scrolling, so I feel like you could take advantage of that and play around with dodging enemies and bullets a lot more. I love alternate goals, but I gotta vote Meh on this.

We had that a ways back. Maybe make your case in that submission thread?

I like the idea behind this, and the run is well-executed. Finding ways to accelerate past standard walking was interesting to me. Voting Yes.

IPS patching SMB2J to allow access to Worlds A-D was explicitly allowed by the site back when romhacks required approval.

I wish I had been entertained by this, but the use of pausing was just too jarring. Voting No on entertainment. Regardless, great achievement for the luck manipulation.

To my way of thinking, as long as every movie for a given game offers something unique, publish it as its own branch with no obsoletion happening. This movie may have the same goal as the Knuckles ring-attack, but the use of Sonic and Tails as the player characters makes it very distinct from that movie.

I plan to put the indicated version of Ubuntu on an older desktop which shipped with Windows Vista x86. The hardware DOES support x64, but it is VERY early x64.

Looks great! Especially impressive for a first outing. Voting Yes. EDIT: Reminiscent of Booster 2.0 flying in Cave Story, to some degree.
