Okay, put like that, no Yoshi makes sense, but not hitting the Switch Palaces doesn't.

With regard to the small-only max%, what exits would removing the "No Yoshi" restriction enable and/or make easier? Honestly, that restriction in particular seems pretty arbitrary to me even in the current run.

Letting the YT cache as we speak. Before I watch it, though, I'd like to voice my support for a concept-demo run using the Ultimate Armor code.

Sorry, but I don't really think that this should be voted down purely due to the game's own faults. I agree that the music sucks, and that the game, and gameplay does get extremely repetative, but that's no reason to dislike the TAS.
People aren't saying they dislike the TAS, they're saying that they dislike your choice of game. I watched the whole thing, and there's just not enough variety for the amount of time it takes. Remember, the question posited by the site is, "Should this movie be published?" It's not "Did you enjoy watching this movie?" although it used to be.

I enjoy playing Flicky casually, though I don't know a whole lot about what would make a good TAS of it. Unfortunately, I have to agree with Warepipe et al, that this was pretty boring. My vote is No, for bad game choice.

If it does turn out to be necessary, we could always do some emulator nesting; run VBA-rr in Hourglass or something. EDIT: Actually, a setting to have the emulator to write to the save file whenever it's modified in-memory would work just as well.

I think I remember trying to do the GSC cloning technique in TGBDual, and having to actually close the emulator to force it to write to the save file instead of just caching it. Try that, maybe? Don't know if GB/C save files would work differently between the two.

I liked your WIP there. I've got a few suggestions for you, based on what I've seen of fighting game TASes here, both accepted and rejected. * Simply going for long combos isn't going to impress most people, especially if they're familiar with the game engine. Make it look cool in addition to being technically sound. * If you're going for completing the game in your upcoming TAS, try as hard as you can not to re-use combos. The more we see something, the less it impresses us. * Try to learn controlling two players at once, so you can do multi-player fights. * Switch characters in those fights, and show off the full roster. ** Alternatively, if there's a character who can transform into other characters. (I haven't played any of the Street Fighter IIIs) use him/her.

Additionally, you should use the same version of the game that the published run (if any) uses; in this case, the SNES version. The Genesis version has no advantages, and it both looks and sounds worse. Positive thoughts on the run: Reptile 1 was hilarious. Glitching the fatality in Endurance 1-2 was also funny. Negative thoughts: You miss way too many attacks, and even allow some to be blocked. That looks incredibly lazy. You should never use the same gimmick more than once. (For example, the aforementioned Reptile 1. You did that same trick twice more.) You should also never use the same combo repeatedly in the same fight. It makes it repetitive, and again, looks lazy.

This would have been better if you'd just murdered them during the course of playing the match instead of gatecamping them. Voting NO.

For Goldeneye at least, the Glide64 Napalm WX plugin has no graphical issues.

In addition to this, I'd like to see a Playoffs run-through with the Mighty Weenies on minimal violence. Haven't watched yet, but wanted to get that opinion out.

I was surprised by how good this looked compared to your last Sonic 3D Blast submission. Very entertaining, and even if you missed the TSC times in a few levels, I think this is plenty optimized to deserve publication. Yes vote. On the subject of world records: In my opinion, even if a world record is not matched, as long as the difference is not significant (maybe 2 seconds max), it shouldn't matter if the result is still entertaining.

I was poking through the Gruefood, and it occurred to me that it's been about two years since the original Gruefood Revival Project™, wherein rejected movies were given a second chance at publication. I think I remember someone proposing to do it on an annual or semi-annual basis, and as I mentioned it's been two years, so I figured I'd put the idea out there to remind our good userbase about it.

It's pretty easy. 1. Start playing the movie. 2. When you reach your resume point, pause it, and make a savestate. 3. Make sure the emulator is in Read+Write mode instead of Read-Only mode. (The default hotkey to toggle this is Shift+8.) 4. Load the state, and the emulator will return to Record mode.

The Big House In The Sky: 40.03. Is this new? I saw it linked on one of the GameFAQs boards I frequent.

1. You can get way more coins from that multi-block. You were jumping again too quickly. 2. If you kick the Koopa forward, you can score about 13,000 points from it taking out the Goombas.

That looked pretty good. A few things, though. * Georgexi's published run uses a button code to access "Gamer" difficulty, which is harder than Hard. If you hope to get this published, you should use it as well. * To save time, fully use up your special weapons so there's no refund countdown.

I think it's acceptable, since there is an actual ending after each set of 33. Whether or not all three get published, however, is a different story. I would expect that whichever one the site audience seems the best would be the only one to be published.

I enjoyed this immensely. Getting to see a different route than the 1P run was very nice as well. A few questions, though. * While you're fighting the boss after the boat ride, during his second form, it looks as if you stop firing well before he becomes invulnerable to transform into his third form, and again right before he's destroyed. Does he become invulnerable that early? * Any particular reason you don't kill everything in sight? Games like this look a lot better when your characters are mass murderers, IMO. Those two criticisms aren't enough that I won't vote Yes, however. Because of the different route, I would say that this should be published alongside the 1P run instead of obsoleting it, or if something MUST be obsoleted, the Secret Ending run should be the one.

Question: I've heard mention that the game's RNG is very volatile, rendering hex-editing basically pointless on most stars, BUT that there are some stars that can be collected that don't depend on/suffer from the RNG, and thus can be hexed. Which stars are these?
