Your WIPs continue to impress, Saturn. Keep it up! ALSO: Any further word on you ETA for the run? I remember you said you were hoping to have it done this year.

Run Saber for SNES is pretty easy; I was able to do a pretty good couple of TASes of it using ZSNES (which doesn't have a lot of the tools SNES9X does) and even got one published.

Deign does that in the FF4 TAS to avoid random encounters.

1. I split about 50/50 between listening to music and not when I TAS; sometimes it'll help me keep my cool (I get frustrated pretty easily,) but sometimes it's just a distraction. 2. If I need to keep notes (comparisons between my run and another run, for example) I'll do that with Notepad. 3a. I'll use savestate slots 1-3 for my so-called quicksaves, and the rest for backups. 3b. If I'm using ZSNES, I don't need to maintain multiple savesates thanks to the ever-so-handy Rewind button. (Does any other emulator have something comparable to this yet?) 4a. I'll typically work on my TAS in spurts, going for about an hour, then playing it back to check the sync, then taking a quick break before going to work on it again. 4b. I may stop before an hour is up if I've hit a good breakpoint, like the end of a stage. 4c. If I'm using ZSNES, I'll check the sync a LOT more often. Accursed core randomness.

The short-charge is one of the easiest (hell, it probably is the easiest) glitches to pull off, honestly. Just walk for a bit before pressing the run button.
Unless I've got my terminology messed up, that's the quick-charge. Short-charge is where you only press the run button on specific frames.

I considered mentioning that one, but I'm ticked off with it because I can't do the short-charge and thus can't get to Kraid.

The link to the patch in the submission is dead. Can anyone mirror it?

Windows XP does everything I need an OS to do, and I run Slax from my flash drive in case I need Linux stuff. The only reason I would even consider "upgrading" to Vista would be for DirectX 10, but I don't have any games new enough that they'd be able to take advantage of it.

So do I. If the computers of the world still ran on DOS, intelligence would be a prerequisite for using the Internet. I would like a world like that.

Work on Megamix has resumed (see http://forums.sonicretro.org/index.php?showtopic=14121) so if you ARE gonna keep at it, nitsuja, I'd suggest you wait for the next release due to some of the bugs in 4.0b.

It played fine for me too; SNES9X v1.43+ v13 and the correct ROM.

I'm surprised you enjoyed that level. It gave me no end of trouble in Time Attack mode.

The Citadel in Mass Effect is a lot of fun to roam around, and the battle there at the end of the game is ridiculously epic.

This idea occurred to me last night. Would it be feasible?

Try updating your copy of MPC. Mine works perfectly fine with MKV.

My standard reply to movies like this:
what is this i don't even
10 for entertainment, 9 for technical. Cursor movement looked very well optimized.

I saw Resident Evil: Degeneration at New Year's, and it was a good watch, even considering I don't really follow the games' storyline.

ROM name doesn't tell anything. What you want is either the CRC32 or the checksum.

Okay, I'm working on my verification movie now, just about to head back to 1000 AD from 600 AD. I plan to get everyone to around level 60 (which was sufficient for Crono and Marle to take Lavos down on their own with) and then max everyone out by using the duplication glitch on tabs, if I can manage to reproduce it; it sounds complicated. If I can't, I'll just NG+ a few times to get enough tabs.

Also, for future reference, giving us the CRC32 or checksum of your ROM is a much better way to tell us what ROM we need as opposed to the name of the ROM.

That's not a bad idea, but unless I'm misunderstanding the Rules page, it says that any SRAM has to be verified via an input movie that can create it. If I'm wrong and that's NOT the case, I would just continue playing my current save file over and over to create the requisite SRAM.
