You need a minor redo for this to be considered.

The movie must complete the game without viewer’s intervention. This means that if there are dialogs between the destruction of last boss and “the end” that do not go away without pressing some button, the movie must include those button presses.
Since your input ends before the score tally screen, you obviously don't clear past it, and the ending sequence doesn't come up on its' own. I did enjoy this, but I'll withhold my vote until the above issue is fixed.

I was very impressed with this run. You did some very funny things with the options, I didn't notice you missing anything killable (except maybe the boulders in the volcano stage) and you did an excellent job of managing lag. Yes vote for certain.

Still working on Google Videoing it (I have really bad upstream) but Nach mentioned at the ZSNES forums that differing sound rates between users might be a cause of desyncing, and I always set my rate to 44.1 KhZ (it defaults to 22.05, I think); could someone try this out?

Voting yes. Congrats on kind of breaking Launch Base Zone. One thing I'm confused on: Hydrocity 2. If I'm watching right, after the death, you do EXACTLY what Nitsuja does, except you warp right to the boss. How does the death set this up?

Not sure why some of you are having desync problems, but I'll encode it myself and Google Video it for ya.

1. Open the ROM 2. Enter GUI (hit Escape) 3. Misc-->Movie Opt 4. Play The name of the movie file must match the name of the ROM.

Kind of an odd problem; when I open a game in Mupen, it displays fine. But when I try to play back a movie, I get a blank screen. I can tell the movie is playing, because the sound is there, but no video. I'm using the TAS-modified Mupen downloaded from JXQ's emulator downloads page, but without the reset-record patch; is that my problem, or is it something else?

http://rapidshare.com/files/104918710/Runsaber4th-Stage4.rar.html Now about 800 frames ahead. I don't know if I'll break 15 minutes, but I'm quite happy with my progress.

Stage 3 is finished, and with it, the part of the redo I was dreading; manipulating enemy positions over the spike pit right after the eagle boss. I didn't get it quite as smoothly as in either of my other runs (think I lost about half a second) but it still looks good. http://rapidshare.com/files/104639290/Runsaber4th-Stage3.rar.html I'm hoping to have it finished and submitted in about a week.

Okay, finally got my motivation back. Stage 2 is finished; 533 frames saved total. Under 15 minutes seems like a serious possibility. http://rapidshare.com/files/102654596/Runsaber4th-Stage2.rar.html

Norfair entirely without the Varia? O_O Man, I remember that being the bane of my existence when I did it during a max-completion NBMB run. I can't wait to see what you guys can make of it.

Something must have to happen for her to trigger.
I remember someone in Galam mentioning that the Priest has been slacking off since deciding to marry Sheela. Maybe that's it. Also, good luck to you.

I guessed that much; what's confusing me is that he only has one sphere stocked. I would have thought you'd need two spheres stocked to use a Level 3.

I was thoroughly impressed with your Guile exhibition. I especially liked the counter-breaking combo during SFTM. Just have one question, though: During the last CvS2 fight (where you were using N-Groove), how were you able to use Sonic Hurricane with only one sphere stocked?

Fantastic run, cpadolf. I'm not sure why, but I was much more entertained with this run than with hero of the day's.

I've been pseduo-TASing everything I play on emulator for a while (just savestate abuse); my first encounter with "competitive" TASing was when someone linked Nitsuja's 35:19 Sonic 3 and Knuckles movie on one of the GameFAQs social boards.

Looks like the patch simply changed the warp zone. It shows the 'Welcome to Warp Zone!' text for a couple frames. Pretty cool hack otherwise I think.
I don't think so; in her second TAS of it (that was the third I linked to before) the Warp Zone functions as normal, so she must've done something different the third time. EDIT: Even better, 2:01 in this video, upper left quadrant, appears to be an explanation for what's going down. Unfortunately, I can't read Japanese.

Something I saw on Youtube a few days ago: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=btgdrpu2PIs&feature=user Summary: Sped-up version of SMB1 where anything that would give you points kills you; player somehow tricks the 1-2 warp zone into taking her to World 8. Wondering if this is possible on a non-patched version of SMB.

Unfortunately, my run has been rejected. I'm a bit surprised, but ah well. I'll just try again. As of now, I'm at the electric arcs early in Stage 2; here's my run through Stage 1. Only about 20 frames ahead so far, but I think it looks better. http://rapidshare.com/files/93241700/Runsaber-4th-Stage1.zip.html

I don't think I've ever seen a TAS manipulate so very much luck. I doubt you can get this published (though a high-quality run, it's boring as hell) but congrats on getting it done.

Looking forward to this one.

Maybe now that you've finished this you can move on to PSIV? Pretty please? ;)
I don't think a PSIV TAS is really feasible; it is brutally hard. Unless some of the Tech/Skill combos can one-hit bosses, there'd be a LOT of level grinding needed, which would make a TAS pretty boring.

I know the drill with submitting; I've tried to twice (EDIT: three times) now. The script which checks to make sure the ZMV is valid hasn't been updated for ZSNES v1.51, so until Nach or someone else gets around to it, I can't submit it. And Nach apparently doesn't visit often; he's had a PM from me waiting in his Inbox for quite a while now.
