Thanks for the advice, I'll thoroughly read that guide and keep the codecs you mentioned in mind. Hopefully I'll figure it out, if there's something I still don't get I'll post again. What a helpful forum :)

I've recently become interested in making TAS videos and the like, and I've been experimenting with quite a few things. I would really like to be able to create AVI files from my recorded movies (.gmv and the like) with the main focus being small file size so they're easy to upload and share, but I'm not knowledgeable in this area, or anything regarding audio and video recording/compression. If someone could give me a link at a detailed guide on what to use to make good small AVI files, or better yet take a few minutes to try and explain it to me themselves, I would greatly appreciate it! I've been messing with it myself and I tend to only get very large files (77 megs for 2 minutes worth) and I'm not quite sure where to look to improve this. If it means anything, the main thing I want to be able to make vids out of is my .gmv's, and I'm using GENS at the moment, so specific help using that emu would be welcome.

Target Earth for the Sega Genesis. I don't think this would be considered a "classic" but its a pretty good game (one of my all time favorites) that I think would be VERY interesting to see a TAS of. Check it out if you have the spare time!
