Nice job! It's a good thing you restarted. I'm looking forward to the rest of this movie; this was one of my favorite games back in the day.

What I would do is finish up what you have, and then restart it using your version 1 as a reference to see how much faster version 2 is. That's what I do, generally.

Disregarding what I said above this post, I am currently working on version 3. All I can tell you is that it will be a big improvement.

Impressive work, b. I played around with this game a little but couldn't even match the time you previously had for act 1-1. I'm looking forward to the completion of this movie.

I'm liking this movie so far. I am seriously looking forward to its completion; it will be one of the best on the site.

Those two shots were so that I could get the pirates to jump so I could run under them. I should have mentioned that in the submission.

I have a quick suggestion: Include a frame-advance button such as the one FCEUltra has. I have found this invaluable, and it would surely help in any future Genesis movies I make.

For Topman, you can use Rush Jet to go across the spinning platforms at the end of the level. I'm not sure if it would help very much or any at all, which is why I said it'd be a minor improvement. Shadowman you can use Jet to kill the parachuters if you don't have Magnetman's weapon.

On average, it takes me about an hour or two to make a level on almost any game. This game might take longer because I will use the frame-advance feature to make perfect slides and jumps. I really do not like the idea of making two movies for each level, but it might be worth it for the perfect movie. If I do, I wll only play up until the first boss door, because Rush Jet does not affect the bosses. If this is required in order to make the perfect movie, then I will probably start this week (ugh).

Oops, Needleman takes 28 hits with the Default Weapon, not 14. Charging up was invented for Megaman 4, not 3. Sliding is faster than Rush Jet, but Jet is very useful in Magnetman's level and Snakeman's level, and has minor uses in Topman's and Shadowman's.

I plan on making this movie (no kopernical, you can't have a monopoly on the Megaman games :P ) and am currently looking over the route for an optimal one. Here is what I have come up with. Sleepz's route
GeminiMan
Needleman
Snakeman
Magnetman
Hardman
Topman
Shadowman
Sparkman
Here is the general consensus of the GameFAQs guides
Magnetman
Hardman
Topman
Shadowman
Sparkman
Snakeman
Gemeniman
Needleman
Here is what I have researched so far about the bosses Magnetman
28 hits with Needleman
14 hits with Hardman
14 hits with Geminiman
28 hits with Topman
28 hits with Snakeman
4 hits with Sparkman
4 hits with Shadowman
14 hits with Default Weapon

28 hits with Topman
28 hits with Snakeman
infinite hits with Sparkman
14 hits with Shadowman
28 hits with Magnetman
28 hits with Default Weapon

Recieve Rush Jet
Here are the conclusions I have come up with from this data without taking into account Rush Jet and Rush Marine Route#1
Topman
Shadowman
Sparkman / Magnetman
Magnetman Hardman
Snakeman/Geminiman/Needleman
Route#2
Magnetman
Hardman
Topman
Shadowman
Sparkman
Snakeman/Geminiman/Needleman
Here is the route I came up with taking Rush Jet and Rush Marine into consideration
Topman
Shadowman
Sparkman
Needleman
Snakeman
Geminiman
Magnetman
Hardman
This final route is the one I am leaning towards. Does anybody have any reason why I should use a different one? I would appreciate some feedback.

If you're going to make a new version anyways, don't bother submitting this one. People can always wait a week or two if they want an .avi.

The movie doesn't finish. It stops at the ending because input is needed to progress the dialoge. I'd suggest adding a blazingly-quick runthough of the ending text and stopping the movie at the credits.

I have a problem with FCE Ultra. Whenver I toggle sound (which enables me to slow down more than without sound, a bug in itself), FCE Ultra crashes and I lose all my work. This might not be a problem if it happens after an hour or so, but instead it occurs in a few minutes. So, unless I want to make backups every few minutes, It is impossible for me to create movies which need more precision than is possible at ~12%. My sound settings are: Low Quality 44100 Hz Use Secondary sound Buffer with global focus 50 ms = Length of Sound to Buffer Any help would be very much appreciated.

In the case of those two games, you don't actually finish the game when you beat it the first time though. You don't even fight the final boss. You fight the boss before him and then loop back to the first level and must play through the entire game again and then fight the final boss to beat the game. In Ghosts 'N Goblins, you beat the entire game, however they present you with a 2nd quest which has a better ending. This is comparable to Super Mario Bros. or Legend of Zelda where they give you 2nd quests to complete after the first one, only in Ghosts 'N Goblins, you get a better ending. Also, in the NES game 8 Eyes, you must complete it 3 times in a row to get the best ending. Does that mean any movie of it should complete the game 3 times in a row or else be rejected due to being incomplete? I think not. I think that because you are not required to play through the game twice or three times in order to play the whole game, then a movie completing it only once should be accepted.

I voted Yes. I have fond memories of playing this game for all of a Saturday only to be dismayed by the "fake" ending. Needless to say I did not want to spend all of Sunday playing in order to get the real ending.

This is a fast-paced game with a lot of variety, and obviously a lot of work went into making this movie, so I say yes. I enjoyed all 13 minutes of it.

I think that a 96-exit Mario World movie should be like the Super Mario Bros. 3 warpless, i.e. all levels begin and end with small mario. I don't know if there are any levels that require you to use a power up, but if not, it would be cool to go through the whole game as small mario.

Make sure your sound in enabled, and your controller settings are the same. That should fix the problem. I used Comix_Zone_(4)_[!].bin and it worked just fine once I made sure the settings were the same.

Here's an annoying bug. If you're recording a movie and FCEUltra freezes, you have to exit the emulator which means that all your work that you just did is lost. If there were a way to make it so that just exiting the emulator properly ended the movie, it would be useful. I was quite annoyed when earlier FCEUltra froze, and I lost 2 hours of work because I wasn't making backups (should be unneccessary due to no de-sync problems that I know of, but now I will make backups.)
