This new xvid video file, it still lags on my computer?
Are you referring to the "CIA Rooftop [xvid version]" video? Because that's the only xvid video I can find on this page… I downloaded it, and it plays fine on my work laptop. It seems to be about 380 kbit/s in bandwidth, and the effective frame rate of it is around 16 fps (because 8/11 of the frames are just dummy no-changes frames). > You must be doing something wrong. Something must be wrong in your computer. ↑ Do not get defensive over this statement. I only used the exactly same wording as you did. You should learn to not use "must be" and blaming others when you have no idea what's happening. When you learn that, you will avert lots of pointless quarrels that you usually get into.

1) Because the TODO of page deletion is part of the page's history. I realize it clutters the referrer list; maybe an exception should be added. 2) That was my mistake. I could undo it with backups, but it would be extra effort…

ShadowByrn, "those" conditions are the ones I linked to from my previous post in this thread (quoted in the post you replied to).

From my perspective, the biggest obstacle so far is that this page is empty. http://tasvideos.org/FR.html At least when you compare to this page: http://tasvideos.org/FMV.html The rest of potential reasons are included at http://tasvideos.org/NewEmulatorConditions.html.

I took a liberty of moving the off-topic posts into a separate thread. Please continue about the N64 game here. [Edit: And moved _this_ post back to the right thread. :) ]

I have no idea how adebis's account was deleted, except that yesterday's unprepared shutdown might have issued some database inconsistency in whereof some random items may have been deleted. Anyway, I reassociated the lost posts to Adebis, so please report to me if there's something still missing, besides Adebis's old account which I can't restore.

It really depends on the make of the keyboard. Most keyboards usually only allow 2-3 keys at the same time. If you're lucky, you can find one that allows 4-5 keys in some cases and 2-4 keys in others.

Is the problem that you actually don't know what the words mean, or is it too much slang? Or something else?
In my case, I said "without conscious effort". If I attempted to direct my attention to actually listening to the words, I could probably understand most of it. (Assuming I don't get stuck in the way Fabian described.) But when I listen to the music as a background music, I only hear the melody and the rhythm, and the tone of the voice. That's different than from JXQ's Zelda voiceover. I could understand it well even without conscious effort.

I do not see a mention of Phil or Genisto in that movie.

I did not know Phil has made a Sega Genesis Ghouls'n Ghosts movie. Or then I kind of misunderstood your post. It was confusing.

I think I can agree with flagitious's idea. But I won't be uploading them. I changed the "expressly forbidden" message. http://tasvideos.org/movies.cgi?id=111 Though now it's too long... the nag section requires some replanning so that it doesn't take 80% of the screen...

So... now after Foda's heavily sequence-breaking TAS... Who will make a 100% completion movie? :) That acquires all items of the game (salamander skins only until the amount they're needed to buy the shield) and kills all bosses.

It's a lot better than all other amateur rap I've heard so far... but nope, not in my zone. Also, 100% of the lyrics bypass my brain's linguistic center, with the only information being processed being the rhythm and the tone. I.e. without conscious effort I have absolutely no idea what the lyrics are about. So nope, not in my zone of comfort.

For the most part, it looks like it's some of my earlier SMB TASes, converted into a VirtuaNES movie... Though it's pretty unlikely one would have converted it into a VirtuaNES movie. It's not a Famtasia movie, because the sound is different. The palette reminds me of VirtuaNES. In the water scene (after the place where everyone would normally walljump, but his video didn't) there are some delays that I know they aren't from any of my videos, and likely none of the videos on this site. In total, I give it 70% chance it was made on VirtuaNES, and 70% chance it's a TAS. 100.00% chance it was emulated.

The submission form of Nesvideos site only accepts zip files though. If you use 7-zip, be careful to make regular zip files, not 7z files, if you intend to submit the movie.

Create archive (a new different file), and then add the gmv into it.

No, Famtasia source code is lost, even the author of the emulator no longer has it. I do not know the format and placement of FMV savestates. The FDS data encodes the current disk side, and the bit that indicates whether the disk is in or ejected. The exact details are unknown to me. If I had to guess, I'd say the lower 7 bits tell the side of disk (1 or 2), and the highest bit tells whether the disk is in ($80 = disk out) Everything else is at http://tasvideos.org/FMV.html. You can find example parsing code in Nesmock, at http://bisqwit.iki.fi/source/nesmock.html. [Edit: Which you apparently did already know. :) ]

Yep, 4 frames would be a more realistic estimate though :) I was giving the "if the world was perfect and the moon was brighter" type estimates.

I noticed you missed a shot against Metal Man. Was that intentional?
It was for the manipulation of Metal Man's actions. By shooting, he was made to jump.
