There's a 90% chance I will at some point of my life :) Although, I hear China is one of those countries where Christian people may be jailed without charge and otherwise treated poorly because of their religion. That doesn't sound too welcoming, considering that I'm a Christian. (And no, I don't consider Christian synonymous to a westerner. My views are much more fundamental.)

I guess you were lucky, I absolutely hate Vienna on cold and windy days. You have probably no idea just how windy it can get in the streets there. >_<
We had cold and warm winds there too, amidst those four days…

Really? Maybe you tried to be too polite. People here generally like it if you don't treat them like complete strangers, even if that's what they are to you. And if you throw in some lame jokes every now and then.
Ah, well that might have been a problem: I tend to treat pretty much everyone like a stranger, even if they're not ;)

Those churches looked like skeletons to me for some reason. I guess it is in concordance with history like this.

Me too. I've always tried to do that but I don't remember ever succeeding. On another note, I think the AVI should have been encoded with slightly better quality (about 40% higher). The track in track 5 is all a blur, and there's also blur at the beginning of track 1.

Falco? Doesn't ring a bell. Didn't notice, or didn't care. Red-dyed hair? Didn't notice it in any striking proportion. I did notice some unrealistically dyed hairs (forgot which color), but none in any striking proportion to make a note about.

Compared to Finland, it was really warm, as you can see here (from Schottentor): We still have snow here in southern Finland. Apparently, those temperatures of +14..+16 °C weren't exactly normal for Wien at this time of year, either. As for sights, I of course enjoyed the mountain views at Semmering. We don't get much of that in Finland: More photos coming up later.

For the most part I just enjoyed being somewhere different than home. I enjoyed pretty much everything; the weather, the sights, the people, the cafeterias, etc. Even the flights were fascinating. I do not know the German language aside from some isolated expressions and words, so I used English. I did however get the impression that you get better service if you speak German, somewhat like in France is for French. As for the reason, it was our company's this year idea for a winter/spring recreation action. Previous years have included going to Tallinn, riding Icelandic horses, and snowmobile driving at the ices of the lake of Päijänne. It was done as a surprise trip: Up to half a week until the leave, we were only informed that we will need the passport and that the travel destination is some 2000 km away. Up to last day before the leave, we weren't told where exactly we're going.

Are you ignoring me on purpose again? :(
I would have liked to arrange a meeting with you, considering that you were the only user at TASVideos who has "Austria" as their location; but you were not available at IRC for talking. Sorry. (If there are others, they obviously don't want me, or anyone else, to know about it; otherwise they would have filled in properly the location in their profile.) And yeah, I'm home now. I think I'll be posting a photograph gallery some day. I took plenty.

This is not a General question. It is a question that relates to the FCEU emulator. Therefore it should have been posted to the FCEU forum. I am moving the thread. Also, the thread topic should be more descriptive.

Not a General question, and there already exists a thread for Super Mario Bros 2j. Moving the post.

First try practicing the language others use here. English, you know. (No offense meant. Why do people think that if you offer frank and honest suggestions, you're automatically malicious?)

yes; i installed the 1.2.0-0ubuntu1 version of libgtkglext1, libgtkglext-x11-1.0.so.0 is sitting in my /usr/lib, and that's the file it's complaining doesn't exist.
Oh. well, there ends my ability to provide support. If it were my system, next I'd check where it tries to locate that lib (use strace), whether the lib directory is include in ld.so.conf (curiously, it isn't on mine), etc., but instructing those over messages is too hasslesome.

Now all you have to do is teach the bot to write the submission commentary. :)
I have enough to write on my own :) It's not like the run is created completely alone by the bot from start to end, anyway. (It could do that, but for efficiency reasons it is often better that I change things. Also, after the run is complete, I intend to retouch it for art. (The cursor zooming can be controlled without affecting the shots' effect, and the bot does not do that at all.)

Okay, here is the WIP of my current TAS of Lunar Ball. FCM: https://files.tasvideos.org/bisqwit/bisqwit3-lunarball-incomplete.fcm *** See EDIT below *** Flash video: http://bisqwit.iki.fi/avstream/v/lunarball50pbroken It plays the 30 first boards at default friction in single player mode. 30 remain, so it is 50% complete. Movie length 11:30. Goals: 1. Least time spent completing levels 2. Exception: If a cooler solution (more balls pocketed at once) is only a few frames slower (when calculating frames/ball average) than the fastest solution, choose the cooler one. 3. Exception 2: If the location of the ball / orientation of the cursor after the shot does not allow for the next shot to be anywhere near optimal, a less optimal choice may be chosen for the current shot. (This exception is always issued manually.) There is one board in which it clears the whole board in single shot. Bummer it only gets a regular "PERFECT" there. PERFECT indicates that all shots pocketed something. Incidentally, that is the only PERFECT in this run so far. Obviously, PERFECTs are a bad thing in general because they cost about 5 seconds per occurrence, and getting them means that the RATE cannot decrease, creating the (huge) bonus delay escalation problem discussed earlier. ****EDIT**** Turns out I botched it in board 23. I had the recording temporarily in PAL mode. I will have to redo boards 23-30! To view this movie, see the Flash video linked above. If you want to check the FCM, follow these instructions: -- Play the movie normally, UNTIL board 23 loads. -- Before board 23 begins, create a savestate. -- Switch FCEU into PAL mode, and load savestate. -- Play movie, UNTIL board 24 loads. -- Before board 24 begins, create a savestate. -- Switch FCEU back into NTSC mode, and load savestate. -- Watch the rest of the movie normally. Needless to say, the final movie won't have this cumbersomeness. And yes, I checked out. The solution for board 23 that worked in PAL mode does not work in NTSC mode. Why, no idea. The same angle and velocity gives a different outcome. ______________________________ The musical score above is of Lunar Ball, of course. Automatically generated, of course...

Awesome movie. It contains many examples of the "screw the obstacles" thinking much like in Rockman :) I also noticed the input & music thing pointed out by bkDJ. Also, nice job killing a koopa with power star. I presume catching the staff from floor ends up being faster than catching it in air? But in world 6, you did the opposite... But, is it not possible to enter the wall in the beginning of the pyramid level in world 2, skipping most of the stage like you did in 7-1? Same goes for 6-5. dk64_master: Be nice.

BTW, some games use the "screen off" timing all the time, like Battletoads, because they disable the PPU during the beginning of the screen refresh.
That's weird. To save power, perhaps? I don't think NES games had power saving priorities, though. That only game with GB.

Wherein, I suppose, "lame" doesn't mean crippled, i.e. handicapped, i.e. disabled? [1]
