Well, I don't think you're supposed to fast-forward through it. :D Although, I admit I fast-forwarded at the beginning when Mario was just standing on a block, not doing anything for a long time.

For some reason, I was fascinated by that. For some other reason, this reminded me of this site. (Warning: extremely heavy page, it could kill some computers)

Why couldn't they call the movie "Rocky VI"? They must be embarrassed they made so many sequels. I haven't seen a single Rocky movie, so I don't care. My only complaint is this movie's retarded name.

kileran, look how well the MPAA is doing against people distributing their videos. And they have billions of dollars to invent hidden watermarks, which aren't working.
Well there is a difference between copying something for your own enjoyment vs. copying something to take credit for it. I would not mind a watermark popping up for 5 seconds every 5 minutes. It wouldn't be a big deal to me, however I will leave that decision to those who actually do all the work around here. :D

Yes, I tested it and it doesn't change the slot (or do anything else at all). If someone is getting the stuff I mentioned to work, please tell me how (if possible).

That's very nice, however it can't be used to make TASes because - You can't select savestate slots while the game is paused. Actually, you can't do anything while the game is paused except unpause it. - Frame advance doesn't work. It works for one frame, and then it doesn't work anymore. Those are my only complaints, other than that it seems to be functional, although it would be nice to have the hotkeys better organized. I don't want to sound like I'm ungrateful for the work people have put into this, but at this moment, this emulator is unsitable for TAS purposes.

I guess the reason is that since the people who make these hacks to begin with are huge fans of the original game, they've probably played the originals to death and thus consider them easy, and when they make hacks, they probably tend to make them harder than the originals without even realizing it.
Yes, I think that's pretty much it. Also, when you are designing a level for a game, obviously you test it a lot along the way, and that makes you get super-duper good at that level. As a level designer, one must distance themselves from their own skill and try to see the level through the eyes of someone who hasn't played it before. Or something like that. Of course, that is still no excuse for the common "one hit and you're dead and you must start FROM THE BEGINNING MWAHAHA" fetish. Edit: Still, one must give some credit to the effort that must have gone into making this. It takes a great deal of dedication to follow through with such an immense hack. I will try it out at some point.

Someone complained about bad level design. That's so common in these hacks, I tend to believe it. Also, what is it with making these hacks ungodly-difficult? Can't people make fun levels that aren't too frustrating? Oh well. I haven't even played this hack at all, so take what I say with a pint of salt. I'm talking more about ROMhacks in general.

I would put the blame on lazy web designers who can't even be bothered to make sure their website doesn't suck. I haven't run into any problems with Firefox. If I encounter a website that doesn't work, I don't bother looking at it because frankly, a website not working in Firefox is the equivalent of a big sign saying "our webmasters are stoopid". If I am forced to look at a website that doesn't work in Firefox, it's not a great hassle to fire up IE just for that one website. It happens less often all the time, though. I think the webmasters of the world might be getting a clue. Oh and for those who just discovered tabs recently, welcome to eight years ago (or whenever tabs were first invented). :D

It appears to me that JXQ doesn't like Metroid Prime. He brought up a few valid things. Yes, it is extremely easy to get lost in the game. It's easier than in Super Metroid because the entire world doesn't rotate every which way in Super Metroid. The first time you enter the world of Metroid Prime, you are lost, plain and simple. It takes a little while to get your bearings, to figure out what's connected to what, etc. I've been there. It's hard to remember what it was like not to know the world once you know the entire game inside-out from every possible angle. I have not encountered an area that was too dark to see in. Perhaps check your TV brightness settings, or increase the brightness in the game itself (I'm pretty sure that's possible). Other issues, issues with control, are somewhat understandable, but something you just need to get used to. I think the controls are simply perfect. These issues aside, it is still a great game, and I don't understand the hate.

I have seen two Finnish websites of that same style, Blublu. For most part, it seems that things posted on such a website (anonymous confessions) definitely should not be read. The reason is that you never can know whether something has been posted seriously or in jest, and the latter kind usually tends to be shocking with very bad taste.
Okay, I guess you can't tell if they are true or not. There would be no way to verify that without making it not-anonymous. But I still don't see why they should not be read. Anyway it seems to me that that site is heavily filtered, only the best "secrets" are posted. But you are right that it could be that 100% of those letters are made-up by strange people. (for that matter, the whole thing might be a hoax). I just thought it was fascinating and decided to post it. Edit: I think an important point is also that there's no real reason not to believe those secrets. It takes a bit of an effort to send a postcard like that to the address provided, so most of the fakers are weeded out that way. I am willing to believe that most, if not all of them, are true.

You guys might be interested in this website here: http://postsecret.blogspot.com/ It has secrets, posted anonymously by people all over the world. Some secrets are pretty horrific, and I find this site to be fascinating. It also helped me to get out of a spot of depression I had a while back. Anyway just check it out, it's inspiring.

Don't worry, the vast majority of the world won't, either. Unless you pick something really obscure, like "best at jumping on a pogo stick while eating two carrots at the same time".

I wish I would spend less time surfing the internet, and more time reading books or doing something useful. I stay up too late, I spend too much money on alcohol (which is mega expensive where I live). I am a little cold and distant. It's almost impossible to change my opinion on anything because I require good reasons to do so (then again, that's probably a good thing).

Happy new year, and by the way, beer still tastes disgusting. :D Resolution: Get stupid drunk on New Year's Eve. I'm well ahead already. :D I tried beer again, and that was a big mistake. Well anyway I love you all, have a good next year and thanks for the last one. Or something. Resolution: Donate money for a cause I care about.

I tried posting a message in this thread using my Wii. I was able to log in, and 'type' a message, but when I pressed submit, nothing at all happened. Then the browser stopped doing anything meaningful. It's a nice novelty, but not for actual browsing.

Yeah, I was kinda under the impresson that there would be a stand that came with the Wii that you would plug the Wii remotes in when not in use, and it would recharge the batteries and keep them in sync. :/ I guess they could later release a USB device that does that. By the way, you can build your own "wireless" sensor bar. (instructions are on the internet) But it is a bit of a hassle... Edit. Okay, I have now played Zelda some more, and I think I'm getting used to the sword swinging thing. It still feels less precise than a button, though, but I think I'm getting the hang of it. This game is sooo sweet. I love it.

Am I the only one who doesn't like the "wave the wii remote to slash" thing in Zelda? It works, but I would honestly prefer pressing a button. It feels slightly slowish and even clunky at times. The nunshuck is also slightly picky about what counts as a shake and what doesn't. I often shake it without triggering a quickspin. I suppose I'll get used to it and figure out exactly how to move those things. I just want them to be totally sensitive and consider the slightest movement to be a slash/quickspin. Bleech....

I was really suprised at how small the Wii remote is. It is much smaller than I thought it would be, but then again I have gigantic hands. I only played Zelda for a little bit (got the lantern), but I have to go sleep now (I've been awake for 37 of the last 40 hours and I feel like zombies must feel like).

Yay! I got a Wii!!! I started to wait in line at 4:15 (I was #6 in the line), the store opened at 11:00. I don't have my Wii yet, but I have a certificate-thing that I'll just show them when i go pick it up (the delivery isn't there yet and they're not 100% sure when it will arrive). I already paid them the money, so if I don't get a Wii today, i will be very pissed off. Someone might die. So I'm pretty safe. Hopefully I'll also get a copy of Zelda (they didn't have any games yet either).

It's only a fake if someone is faking it. This story and the video accompanying it is clearly a fake, perpretated by the idiot(s) behind it. On this site, the videos are not fake because we're not faking anything. Simple, really. I wouldn't use the word fake in our context because that, to me, would imply video editing or something of that sort.
