I finally found the video again. Here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DRQJuxvtRuY I guess it is a little old (pre-launch), but I have no reason to believe the feature has actually been removed from the final version. This video also shows inserting a disk (both Wii and GameCube disks).

I'm trilled about the Wii. I can't wait 'till I get my hands on it. Unfortunately, that won't happen until December 8th. It's like christmas is coming early for me. :D You will be able to tune the sensitivity of the controller. I saw a video of it on YouTube. By the way. Bisqwit already covered this, but if someone posts any Zelda spoilers (without tags), I will kill them.

Damn. At this rate, eventually a way will be found to warp directly from Kokiri Forest to the end credits. :D

Nobody uses "MSinfo documents" ever, so it's actually a perfectly fine solution. I, however, just right-click -> open with-> notepad.

Much of the humor is derived from his excessive over-use of profanity and the guzzling of beer. I think the people who don't like these videos might be taking them too seriously. The Friday the 13th is the best one. Top Gun is also a favorite. Actually, they're all good, except for "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde", which is just awful.

It's actually not that hard to do with tools. Try letting go of forward a frame or two, and just drift forwards. This will displace your sub-pixel position (or some mumbo-jumbo) and will enable you to get across. You can also just resume from this run: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/2697/Ufouria_up-to-tree-area%28E%29.fcm (although I'm not so happy with the Freeon-Leeon battle, and I seem to remember there might have been a way to travel across ice faster ... maybe by using Bop-Louie for the parts that don't require jumping ... or something else I'm too lazy to research).

Yes, but that also applies to anything else a person could possibly do. :P

When I was in (the equivalent of) high school, during one crazy month, some schmucks kept blowing up fireworks in the school. Yes, inside the school. The fire alarm went off twice in one day, but it was OK because the weather was very good and it was actually nice to get out of class for once. I think it even came on the news once. Although I may have just dreamt that part. But yeah. Some teenagers are idiots. And even some supposedly grown-up people are idiots.

Yeah, I did this when I played all the Megaman games on the SNES. I tried to limit my save-state abuse, but I couldn't beat some bosses without using save states in the actual boss fight. Yeah, I suck. And I didn't get any better at it because I just save-stated my way through. On a somewhat related note, and please forgive me if I stray off-topic, this is also the curse of the save-anywhere feature of most modern PC games today. People have different views about it, but the correct opinion (mine) is that it should NOT be possible to save anywhere. But save-points should still not be far between. I think you should be able to lose a maximum of 5-10 minutes of play with one death. Doukutsu Monogatari (Cave Story) has the absolute perfect amount of save points, for example. Another game that did it right is Aliens Vs. Predator (1). You can't save at all in that game, you have to get through the whole level without dying, but it's OK because the levels aren't very long. But I think the developers caved in and released a patch that adds save-anywhere into the game. Or was that AvP2? The game should not be so hard that you have to retry every room 20 times to get it right. Or if there is a hard part ahead, include a save-point just before it and the difficulty should be skill-based (like Cave Story), not luck-based (like many FPSes on the hardest difficulty).

I have an idea. Let's post online songs in our respective languages. Rules: It has to be available over the internet, no registrations, no questions asked, just click (download if required) and listen. I'll start with Icelandic: www.myspace.com/baggalutur When you get bored with that song, click on "Allt fyrir mig" to hear a better song. Yes, and "Ég sef bílnum" is litereally translated as "I sleep in the car" and is about a guy who sleeps in the car because he can't sleep in the house because he can't remember what he did wrong to his wife (I think he probably slept with another woman). And "Allt fyrir mig" means "everthing for me" and it's about a guy who meets/marries a woman who does everything for him, washes the dishes, cleans everything, etc. And he doesn't have to do anything......

Of course, everyone prefers the languages they understand. That said, Icelandic is the best language ever, English is second, ... I guess Danish would be third, but only because I have been forced to learn it. By the way, Danish is actually two languages, the written version and the spoken version. And the spoken version is impossibly unintelligible. I have a theory that Danish is actually Icelandic on 35 beers, and Faroese is Icelandic on LSD. Gessgh.

This is a somewhat prurient but serious linguistics question ... In every language I have learned (English, Mandarin, Spanish), "come" has the same double meaning. Just because of the nature of the thing I suspect that's true in almost every language. Can you guys confirm or deny this for the languages you speak fluently?
Do you mean the sexual meaning, or am I reading too much into something? For Icelandic, yes "koma" ([to] come/arrive) is a sort of slang for having an orgasm. However, "fá það" ("[to] get/receive it") is used much more.

I've also played this game, it came on one of those pirate multi-game carts and it was all in japanese. :D I didn't understand the menus at all, all I could do was select random options until I got to a game. I will now play this game again, thanks.

Even more annoying are people who complain about people who point out the search feature. This thread should be locked. It is useless.

You know, there is a search function at the top of the page. There are at least 2 other threads about this game, you created the third one. If you can't find the search function, you can click on the thread here: http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=443

Oh, crap. I forgot the water thing. Okay, then I guess the route is not changed.

You only need one medicine bottle. For the big lava pits, just bounce on as many enemies as possible with Bop, then take a hit on the last one. Then use the short invincibility time to walk on the bottom of the lava with Gil. You can make it pretty nicely without taking any more damage. You do not need Shades or Freeon-leeon or any secret weapons. I wonder if manipulating enemies into dropping energy balls would be faster than grabbing the medicine... Here's the current route as I envision it: Start Get Freeon-Leeon Cross ice-area (use Freeon-Leeon) Cross gap without Shades, move up Tree area (get egg and return it to bird) Go back and up, across clouds, defeat boss and get suction cup Go down Enter gate room from Ice Cave {get medicine if it's faster than manipulating enemies along the way} Get Gil and Red Key Choose the faster path of these two (test both): 1. Go down, to starting area, right and dive into the water (the first body of water encountered in the game) , go right at the first intersection, then right again, through pipe, then up twice. You'll come up in a lake to the left of the tree area. OR instead of coming up in that lake, go right at the last intersection and come up on the tree area lake instead. 2. Go back to the throne room, go through it, climb up ice wall, go right, climb up, then go right again (you'll encounter the lake to the left of the tree area) Go through tree area (faster than the previous time because of suction cup), Take a ride with the bird, climb up a wall, go right, enter cave activate water faucet, enter newly accessable water tunnel Go through extremely long water maze with Gil Kill boss and get Gil's seret weapon. Go back From tree area lake, choose the faster path from these two (test both): 1. Go left and up, come up in lake to the left of tree area. Then go left again and down megashaft. Now go right from the botton and bomb the wall with Gil's secret weapon. 2. Go left and then down, right, through megashaft pipe, down and left. Get out of the water in the mines, leave the mines to the right (where you normally first enter them). Now go right and bomb the wall with Gil's secret weapon. Cross the lava pits using the strategy I mentioned earlier, kill armor guy, get Blue key. Head back and go up megashaft. Enter gate room from the Ice Cave, go through. Bomb through 999 walls with Gil's secret weapon, get Green key. Go back to the gate room, kill boss By the way, there's a great map for the game here: http://www.vgmaps.com/Atlas/NES/Ufouria-TheSaga-Ufouria.png It's very easy to plan the route if you have this map. :D Edit: Bleh! Of course, you can just use Gil to charge Bop, so you can skip Bop-louie's secret weapon. Edit: actually, forget that whole route. It could be faster to get Bop-louie's secret weapon after all, so you can enter the water maze from the opposite direction.

^That is simply awesome. Great discovery by Fihlvein. I guess I was not persistent enough. Now the following can be skipped: Shades (woohoo!) Bob-louie's secret weapon (get Shades' instead and use the switch-trick to beat the armor guy) (Edit: actually ... I still don't know what happens if you get Shades' secret weapon without Shades, so maybe forget skipping Bob's secret weapon ... anyone care to try it and see what happens? Although I guess you can use Gil's secret weapon to switch-trick the armor guy instead of Shades' ... I have completely forgotten the route now and don't know well it fits with the current route, maybe it needs to be changed drastically)

Yes, please upload it. Not for me, but for others who might run this game. I am not doing it. :P
