As long as the movie plays correctly in #9, it shouldn't be a problem. Just don't use a savestate from the previous emulator version, make brand new savestates just in case. (it would be likely to work anyway, but you can't be too careful).

^That's what I meant. Though it doesn't seem to work in OO Calc. *slightly annoyed, but doesn't care* How advanced is the spreadsheet thingy anyway? Is it possible to make a single command to show the time in d:h:m:s.ms format? Oh well, whatever. :P

Wow, thanks. That's very helpful.
I don't understand. You said you know how to divide by 60 in that program, buy didn't know how to do the other, slightly more complex calculations. These other calculations are quite clearly shown in the short perl script I posted. What else do you want?
I was hoping for someone to say exactly what I need to input into the box, but it's okay. I'm not working on any movie at the moment so I don't really care. To clarify, I don't even know the proper syntax of how to do anything more complex than "=C2/60" and "=B1+C1" (letters and numbers vary, I just made something up) . Of course I could experiment and figure all this out, but meh. I just thought since you guys are so eager to show exactly how to do stuff in perl and Pascal, you'd be equally willing to show your spreadsheed "1337 skillz". And I thought it wouldn't hurt to add that to the thread. Nevermind.

Well if you must do a run of a crappy console port, there's always Quake 64 on the Nintendo 64. I think it's supposed to feature some new levels not in the PC version (I have no idea, though). edit: confused Doom with Quake again... sorry.

Okay guys, you've shown your 1337 perl skills. Now if someone could show me how to make OpenOffice Calc (the spreadsheet thingy) do this, that would be awesome. I can make it divide by 60 to get the seconds, but once the seconds go over 60 ... I don't know any of that advanced stuff.

Ok honestly. It was kinda funny the first time, but then it got old. That was like 7 years ago or something.

Well I can't say anything about Blarg's Boiler specifically, but for me the sprites are messed up all over the place. For example, instead of rotating, the sprites flip horizontally and vertically. Makes it very trippy at certain times, especially where there are large rotating objects (in those cases, it breaks up into many smaller sprites, each one flipping individually).

Oh, I was always under the impression that GB/GBC cartridges were the same size and shape as GBA cartridges. Shows how well I'm keeping up, doesn't it? I've never owned a handheld other than GameBoy and later GameBoy Pocket. So by default it can only play GBA and DS games, right? What is an "emulator accessory"? Is it just a passive adaptor thingy? No need to answer, I'm too lazy to look it up myself and it's not really much of an issue anyway. I can't get a DS Lite now because it's not available where I live, and I'm not ordering it from Japan or whatever. I'm not in a hurry to get one so .... :D

I'm going to get a DS, but I'm going to wait for the Lite. It has a brighter screen and it also just looks better. The games are extremely expensive, but I won't get that many anyway and hopefully it'll be worth it. Edit: Here's a question for someone who knows. Does the DS play ancient black and white GameBoy games or is it GBA only?

Crap... I should have known to try that. :/ *feels stupid* Well, I thought it was very nicely done. If you're going for 100% head hits you already know what to fix. :) Please keep going.

The movie desyncs almost immediately for me. That first shot is supposed to hit the guy in the head, right? After that, you die while trying to walk through some crates... :(

Nice Mido skip. I wonder if it works in the beginning as well (but I'm sure that's what everyone else thought, too).

You must start recording from power on/reset. Using SRAM is only allowed in extremely rare exceptions (only 1 game so far that I'm aware of, Super Mario Kart). If you can go to the options and change it at the start of the movie, that is the way to do it (as long as it saves time in the long run). I'll view your movie and give comments if I can. It's been a long time since I played the game, though, so I'm no expert on it. :D

I can see the reason for not including MM1-2. Four games at the same time is also lludicrous enough already. I'm still not sure if I agree ... but that's not for me to decide since I'm not the one making the movie.

I think Megaman 1 and 2 should be included, but then again I'm crazy so you might not want to listen to me. I think it should be okay to "cheat" a little by getting the player stuck in one or even two games as long as the rest are always progressing nicely. I mean come on. I tried briefly to make a MM1-6 movie, but I couldn't find a way to progress ONE SCREEN in ANY of the games without falling into a pit or something in at least 1 game. Granted, I only tried for very a short time (30 minutes or so), and I suck at this kind of stuff, and I didn't plan ahead at all ...

Is there a consistend way of doing the corner glitch or do you just have to keep trying until you get better at luck?

You can actually combo the jumps all the way up, mostly never letting go of jump, and never having to stop to set anything up: (huge picture removed) My nomenclature is slightly different than yours, Blublu. 5+1 means you are going to hit the ceiling between the 5 and the 1 and you need to let go of bounce just when hitting the ceiling. 2+1 means you are going to hit the cieling between the 2 and the 1 and you need to let go of bounce just when hitting the ceiling. Sometimes you can clear the lip of the 5+1 platform so well that it turns into a 4+1, though this is rare, and it's easy to tell when it happens. Even if does, the rest of the jumps stay the same. One more important note: on the very first 5-jump, do not start holding bounce at the peak of your idle bouncing, or you will break on the third 1-jump.
That's a much better method. Very nice, thanks. I simply experimented on flat ground and then applied my findings to this situation. Obviously not as good as just working from the situation to begin with. Or something. My methods will work on any flat ground, though, so if there are other places where you need to jump high with glass ball, it might still be useful.

I've been doing some experimenting, and I've figured out how to jump high with the Glass Ball. Here it is: How to get to cheese place without ball 4: Definitions: jump - bounce on the ground while holding the S key bounce - bounce on the ground while not holding any key All of these tricks are started from minimum bouncing. That is, hold A (or wait) until you're bouncing as little as possible. 1. The 5+1 method. Jump 5 times, then take the 6th jump on a surface (ideally) one block higher. Make sure you don't have any horizontal velocity upon landing or else your ball will break. 2. The 3-2-3-4 method. Jump 3 times, bounce 1 time, jump 2 times, bounce 1 time, jump 3 times, bounce 1 time, jump 4 times. 3. The 4-2-2-2-2-4 method. Jump 4 times, bounce 1, jump 2, bounce 1, jump 2, bounce 1, jump 2, bounce 1, jump 2, bounce 1, jump 4. Use method 1 for the first jump. Remember! No horizontal velocity while landing or you will break! The second jump you can make without any tricks. The third jump, use method 1 again. Next, use method 2. Then for the last jump, use method 3. Note that because the ceiling in that particular place bounces you down a tiny bit, it becomes the 4-2-2-2-2-3 method. (with 3 jumps at the end, not 4). Hopefully this will help those who want to get to the cheese place without ball 4.

This game is SO good. I ran through the speedrun mode thing, and got 1:07:32.86. That's a pretty crappy time, seeing as the record is just over 20 minutes...

Dang just went into the area where there are several sets of walls each a different color, and I get to a part where the one that is active changes with which ball I am, but apparantly I need either the 6th 7th or 8th ball to continue. If the music weren't so relaxing I'd be pissed off right now.
I'm pretty sure you only need balls 1, 2, 3 and 4 in that area. As a matter of fact, it's impossible to have gotten 6-8 before completing this area. ... I'm stuck again. Where do you go after getting the first 8 balls? I'm at "Dr. Cliche's secret underwater lab" or something like that but I think some sort of a flying or swimming ability is required to survive the square room with the lasers.
