Well, it might have been 5 hours, I'm not sure. Also, it might have been 27 minutes and not 17. But I *think* it was 4:17 or just thereabout. I wanted to make a video to submit to SDA, but I gave up in the "practise for an eternity" part.

I did it once, and ended up with a time of 4 hours and 17 minutes (I think). It was on the PAL version, which is slower than the NTSC one. Edit: oh, and I played it on a Nintendo 64.

There's also Super Mario XP, a cross between Mario and Castlevania. I actually played that one all the way through, the music (from Castlevania) is soooo awesome.

I think most of the old Famtasia movies can be improved upon a little bit, if only because of a tiny bit of added precision (frame advance). Forget about Contra, though.

Heheh, I used to do this a lot on some other message board. The best threads are where someone asks about something, and then you answer their question (3 years later, get it?). Oh. *cough* and umm... nice movie!

All the bosses from Doukutsu Monogatari, also known as Cave Story. Concentrated awesomeness.

If this hack only changes sprites and nothing else, there's a good chance the existing movie will complete it just fine. Although, if it only works in Famtasia and Nesticle, maybe not.

I thought you needed the metal cap to get the "through the jet stream" star from Jolly Roger Bay. It might be possible, though. Can someone confirm? Also, if it is really possible to glitch through the wall to enter Jolly Roger Bay without any stars, it could be possible to enter other levels that way. Might be worth checking out.

If this movie doesn't get published, we all might as well stop making TASes and start living a simpler life on a jungle island. Weeee!!!

Yes, there should be 6 different videos, one for each campaign, since you can play any campaign at the start of SC64. (press left or right at the start)

About that movie: When you make a selection box to select units, wouldn't it be a lot faster to use the "select all nearby units" button instead? Also, I thought I saw a few places where the analog stick wasn't pushed 100% in any direction when moving the cursor across a distance, and some times where selection boxes were used to select single units when it wasn't necessary.
I think the "select nearby units" only works for combat units, but it might work if you have no combat units. I didn't try it. Most of the time, I'm not selecting every unit on screen anyway. The analog stick is a pain to work with when all you have in real life are very un-analog buttons. I had to change the sensitivity in the input menu, and sometimes I was just too lazy to change it back. Selection boxes were used for that same reason. When you can't control how far the stick goes, the cursor tends to jump huge distances every frame and it's impossible to target single units directly. Yes, I used only the keyboard.

Hmm. I can't get it to desync for me even after playing around with the settings some. You must either have a different emulator (I'm using alpha6) or a different rom. (At least I HOPE it's just one of those things.) Does anyone have a full list of ALL the button combinations of this game? I'm sure the ones I mentioned are not the only ones (they're just the ones I figured out while making that short movie).

I made a fun little movie for this game. It starts a 1v1 Bloodbath match against the computer, and immediately rushes (and wins) with the workers. It's not extremely impressive (this can probably be done on the PC by a semi-skilled person), but it was harder to make than I thought it would be. http://fast.filespace.org/blublu/STARCRAFT_64_USA.m64 Everyone knows this: Z + control stick = scroll the map around R + C buttons = make a unit group Z + C buttons = select unit group L + D-pad = screen "bookmark" D-pad = select screen "bookmark"

Wow, that was ridiculus and strange. If there's going to be a hacked-games section, this should be in it just because it's so weird.

I made up my crappy nickname without even thinking about it, and now I'm too lazy to change it.

Oh, I definitely vote for Starcraft 64. The controls suck on the original N64, but with slowdowns and whatnot you could manipulate luck and micro a lot. Would be pretty interesting, I think. Another idea would be the "Tony Hawk's Pro Skater"s. I think there are three of them on the N64. You could pull off some amazingly ridiculus stunts. Also maybe Pilotwings 64. Maybe someone could do Superman 64, just so no one ever has to play that game again.

Wow, I can't believe new tricks are still being discovered. That fireman trick and the Elecman trick will eliminate the only two spots that feel a little rough in the current version. I don't have much else to say except ... well, keep it up. :D Show that game no mercy!

At this rate, the next version will be about 20 seconds long in total. Jesus, this is getting ridiculus. :)

A whole another second squeezed off. Will this ever end? I think I just crapped my pants. No wait, I didn't.

Wow. I have no idea of what to say. I thought the other movie was perfect, but ... damn. That's just ... err, totally godsmackingly wicked or something. Great job by everyone involved!

Is it just be or are the weather effects extremely annoying? I think the guy put them in there just to see if he could.

Actually, maybe the character wouldn't need to stand around so much. The time it takes the mice to die can be spent breaking boxes and killing enemies, getting as many points as possible without wasting time. No, I'm not doing this game either, it is more difficult than it seems. (I tried it for a little bit.)
