That thing is weird. I'm not sure how to feel about it. It's certainly much more interesting than the PS3 and XBOX 360 controllers. This really opens up a whole new world of possible games. If it works as it says in that article, I think I might have to get one. The extra backwards compatibility with NES, SNES and N64 games would then seal the deal. (even though I already have emulators)

Heheheh, the time is 13:37. I have nothing else to say about this movie.

It's easy to get past the lava pits without any medicine. All you need to do is jump on top of one or two enemies, and get hurt on the third (or maybe the second, I forget), and you use the temporary invincibility to get the rest of the way across without getting hurt by the lava. You don't need a whole lot of energy for this, you could probably collect it from enemies without losing too much time overall. Certainly it would take less time than getting Shades (if he were possible to skip).

Nah, that only works if you turn off PAL emulation or something like that. If you run the game the way it is supposed to, you fall precisely one pixel short (my estemate). It isn't possible on the Japanese version either. Still, I think it's worth trying to find some glitches of some kind. For example, if it's possible to walljump in this game, it would be very easy to skip both Shades and Freeon-Leeon (or whatever he's called).

Yes, I've been waiting for this run since someone first said they were making one. Does the twitching save any time? I sure hope not because if it does, there will never be a complete run of this game.

First, there isn't yet a rerecording emulator for N64. Second, a movie of that game should be focused on points, not time. (At least that's my opinion.) Third, there is already a speedrun (done on the console, no emulator) available on SDA: http://speeddemosarchive.com/StarFox64.html

OK, I understand now. I can also guess why you can't push blocks with the mouse. I guess it will always be required to use both mouse and arrow keys to get the best times.

I want the last third of the kick to be uninterruptable. When you have to use both the mouse AND the arrow keys to move around, it's hard enough to press the kick key (numpad 0) without a delay. Also, can anoyone explain to me why it makes sense that mouse movement is much faster than keyboard movement? I just don't see it. "It's more challenging this way" is not a very good answer.

The t-shirt should have the SMB1 movie file printed on it (or at least a small part of it). And maybe "Super Mario Bros walkthrough:" above it...

There are currently 22 "unbeaten" levels, so it isn't really anything special... You can't beat level 5-1. Nyahh nyahh...! (how's that for a provocation?)

Of course this depends on the game. I've heard it works in Shadows of the Empire, for example.

If modifying the N64 game controller to allow pusing the stick into the extreme corners actually works, I can't see how that is different to the left/right issue we already have with all the other consoles. Hell, you might even be able to push the stick further to the sides than normally possible without modifying the controller. Maybe you could walk faster with it in some games, I don't know.

My movie is very far from perfect and there are countless delays and small mistakes. I will improve it later...

12-5 is mine! Muahahaha! Edit: The stats page for level 12-5 is bugged. After completing the level, it says "Completed 1-0" at the top, the time displayed is -1:0-1.6096" and Seconds/box is "-Infinity". However, the actual score is saved in some cache somewhere or something, because if I go to the same page through the "records" menu, the stats are displayed correctly and I can save the movie. Edit: Actually, I have no idea if this only affects this level. I just mentioned the level number because it's the last level and maybe nobody has beaten it before...

Yeah, I don't get why people have a problem with the LOOK of Wind Waker. The game looks amazingly good to me. The problem of that game wasn't the looks, it was the vast, empty world map and the lack of dungeons... And that new Link looks completely awful. What happened to his trademark green clothes and his long hair? It's like he got the "queer eye for the straight guy" treatment.

Thanks. It's always nice to get positive comments. :) Popular games and games with dolphins in them get published fast. Less popular ones have to wait. There are still probably some submissions older than this that can be published. The problem is that they are being published really slowly. I think the last time a movie older than this one was published was almost two weeks ago. Bleh...

Yeah, right. Link didn't grow a beard when he became an adult in Ocarina of Time, so I don't think there's any hope for that ever happening. Of course it's not always the same Link in every game, but ...

About 4) (pogo off bees in Amazon), I tried for a while, but I couldn't find any way to save even 1 frame in that area. Just climbing straight up is the fastest way until some wall jumping or other previously unknown exploit is discovered.

Not only that, but also the new run will use FCEU, which is better than Famtasia. It could encourage even more improvement later.

I LOVE this movie. Even though I've never played the game, I was entertained the whole time. The dancing on the final boss was funny as hell. Great job!

I'm confused. Are you being sarcastic or are those levels actually very difficult, but I didn't notice it...? (those levels are now called 3-1, 3-2 and 3-3)

That would NEVER work. People could still easily use the regular version of FCEU to make the movie and then just convert it into this heavily encrypted pseudosecure format.
