all of those i pronounce like the names of the letters, except ff7, which i pronounce /ˈfainəlˈfæntəsiˈsɛvɛn/, and acmlm, which i dont pronounce at all, but if i did (and it would be to myself), it would be something close to /ˈækləm/. the ones you gave i find completely foreign.

i've just been thinking recently that there should be runs that don't abuse bugs because of their arbitrariness. maybe this is a bad intstance in which to use that idea.

voting yes, but i dont think it should replace the current run because it abuses bugs.

bisqwit: the pirate bay isn't technically a law-breaking site, as it (the site itself) is legal in sweden, so it seems that mentioning it doesn't break that rule.

if we're going to have a separate category for ultraglitched runs, it seems to me that the only (or main) other category should be for completely clean runs. after all, it was mostly a matter of chance that some bugs got fixed and others didnt before release, and since the bugs werent really supposed to be part of the game at all, it seems rather arbitrary to exploit the ones that just happened to make it through.

if its worth anything, i vote to use the japanese version for the usual reasons (nobodys gonna read the text anyway, etc.).

i pronounce it /mIsail/. <missle> is meant to represent /mIsl/, and thus strikes me as american.

i meant without using unfree software. actually, i'd be willing to use ati's drivers for now, but i can't figure out how to install them. and yes, this should be moved to other emulation topics.

Edit: and if the avatar isn't a dead giveaway, Linux support with all these movie and savestate features would be nice. It only has to be enough to boot up and play/record movies correctly, doesn't need an overly fancy GUI. AVI support I will be adding/modding myself.
how about linux support for 3d acceleration? until that comes, i won't be able to do much with any of this. though, i'll greatly enjoy seeing psx runs.

this game should be done because it's an improved version and with several bug fixes, so you can't skip the sealed cave for example.

hero of the day and saturn: thanks. dromiceius: i don't know; i might be able to make it out myself. concerning which version tu use: actually, i was thinking that using the japanese version would make it easier to compare to the unassisted run. if i do make a run in japanese and everyone wants to see it in english, i'll also do one in english; maybe then i'll submit both and see which get published. edit: dromiceius, i looked at your translation and found some major mistakes in the first paragraph. it should read something like this: this paper details the chrono trigger speedrun in 3:49 i made 19/2/07. the document's main point is killing lavos extremely early, before getting silvard [a.k.a., epoch]. hence, the speedrun cuts out everything from the undergroud sewer ruins to the appearance of the black dream [omen], saving a great deal of time. the last sentence is sketchy, but i think that's basically what it says. yours is this: This report, created on February 19, 2007, details my Chrono Trigger time attack in 3:49. This document's greatest point is obtaining silver-points to kill Lavos at an extremely early point in the game. Undersea palace has been cut entirely for great justice, etc. which is something quite different. have you actually played the game in japanese? i don't trust your translation, but unfortunately reading japanese is very tedious for me. for example, trying to figure out what the hell "konashiteita" means.

you think? i thought this opportunity would be jumped upon, but now that it seems that that isn't the case, i'm seriously considering doing the run. and if i do, i'll probably do it in japanese, both because hero of the day said the text part would be significantly faster, and because the english translation sucks.
