saturn: to clarify, i did NOT find that sekwence break; i merely found them, but could not get out without using patches to freeze my energy and super missile count. p.jboy: in that case, where is the other set? and since they seem to take 200 energy at time (800 in all), how do you kill them without them latching on to you?

question: in the first super missile room, is there any other way to escape than bomb jumping up through the ceiling? edit: nevermind; i assume the answer is yes, but it's not quite as hard as it looked.

They are. Remember mother 2 is called "giegu's revenge", or whatever.

The problem with nes earthbound is that it's set to stop at certain point(s), and the only way to get around this is to use a hack. I would go with the gba version; for some reason, i didn't notice that the music was worse.

I have no clue what that means. Perhaps you could rephrase it?

I voted meh on account of that it violates the rule that the game should be played on the hardest difficulty when doing so is more entertaining. This game is trivial on normal difficulty; the most interesting part is the bosses, and the run practically skips them. Also, one thing i noticed was that the 3-3 boss could have been done at least 60 frames faster without using the blitz attack (or whatever it's called). Though, whether this can be made worth it in the long run i'm not sure. Other than that, it seems pretty well optimized, and a good job for your first tas. In any case, i'm looking forward to a hard mode run.

comicalflop: I like the way the pikachu match ends synchronized with the music. laughing_gas: Isn't it possible to swallow them and make them escape at the point where they die without getting a chance to return?

In my opinion, the boss battles are too short and simplistic. Doing it in hard mode would require preserving health and ammo (probably for the bosses that cause the most unnecesary waiting), which would be more interesting and entertaining. By the way, what's your rational for buying the ammo you did for the first mission boss?

It looks pretty optimized; i can't think of any improvements. Though, aren't you supposed to do it in hard mode? The boss battles would be more interesting that way. Could you explain the up down move you're doing? I like your avatar, by the way.
