Our first draft is 24:36 with 800340. I am confident we can lower the former and raise the latter. But, it's safe to say I'll be taking a break first...

er do you have the original small version? this says 160mb although I doubt I downloaded that much in a couple seconds.
No. If I did, then this wouldn't be a problem.

can you post a test case? simple: a starting file and the minimum number of steps to have your bug show up. ie. open this file, just save it back, boom, size exploded.
It just happened after editing over and over again is all. I think the filesize doubles each time. Here's a sample file: http://www.brandonevans.org/uploads/Spider-Man%20and%20the%20X-Men%20in%20Arcade's%20Revenge%20(U).smv

You can write them into .fm2 files and extract them to .srt via FCEUX, by the way.

Although we don't think it is necessary to release any more WIPs publicly, this project is far from dead, and we will have a complete rough draft done by the end of the week. It's nearly impossible to transfer these files now anyway, as TAS Movie Editor has made the file size 80 MB. Worst comes to worse, when we finish completely we can input every frame in manually, but I'm sure there's an easier way to reduce the size than that.

For an optimal TAS AI, you'd need access to save states to know at what point your chain should be stopped because it has reached sufficient size to kill your opponent.
Or you could just calculate how much is enough...

So, I've been using tas-movie-editor.exe to edit my SNES TAS, and every time I do, the file in question grows significantly for no reason. Right now, my file is 80 MB. Why would this be? How can I fix it?

What about Rode Runner?
Did you mean Road Runner? If you want to, you can try an "all flags" run for the SNES version. I don't have enough time right now for it, but I posted lots of helpful stuff in the game specific thread. For example, I created some maps showing all the flags and hidden paths. [/offtopic]
I thought that's what he might of meant, but that's not really a puzzle game, right? Also, why did you link to Bonk's Adventure?

I'm not sure what game you're referring to.

I've watched your run, and I have a question for you, Brandon. What kind of luck manipulation is used in this run? I've seen you did a great job avoiding enemies considering you can't jump at all, and you can't get caught in a dead end. Is that the manipulation?
If you watch the video with captions on, you'll have all the details you'll need. In short, the trick with this game is that every AI except for the Green Sylvester follows you based on what direction you are "moving" in, even if your movement takes no actual effect, such as when you're falling or going through a staircase. Because of this, very few situations have unavoidable enemies. In those cases, I try to find the best solution possible, and I've documented my choices in the captions. Hope this helps.

This game has a glitch that taking death can get warped. I don't know whether it could use in the correct rom.Because I only experienced it in real play.
As I explain in my subtitles, using the No Carrot Sign may bring you to a bonus level, which can be played in place of the regular one, but even if we ignored all the menu navigation that resulted in, those levels are usually much longer than the regular ones. As such, I avoid them.

What program (if any) did you use to construct your YouTube subtitle file? I ask because I haven't found one myself. I made one, but it's not ideal for long videos.
I just wrote them into the FM2.

This was a port of a game featuring Roger Rabbit, so I'll presume it had a similar ending screen with Jessica Rabbit.

In stage 44, you claim that killing Wile E. Coyote would make you lose 1 frame, yet you encounter him later on and lose much more than 1 frame in order to get the last carrot. Couldn't you have used the falling glove?
The reason I added subtitles was so that people could see my faulty logic. I feel like the was a reason why I didn't do that. I'll look it over again and see if I can quickly add the improvement. I don't have to cancel to add an improvement, right? Edit: Let me elaborate, Qlex. When I said it wastes 1 frame, I mean it wastes 1 frame for the final time. If I take the current path, it is one frame faster than if I kill Wile E. Turning around costs a lot of time. Thanks for keeping me honest, though!

Also, I have some alternate screenshot suggestions. I think that it would be nice to have a screenshot from the end of a stage where Bugs is cheering. I found these stages to have especially interesting endings: 23, 27, 42.
Could you upload what you had in mind please?

That said, there might be some actual tradeoffs here. For example, in the second to last boss battle, why did you throw the toad when he could have been used to kill the boss faster? That might have been able to save some actual time. I'm sure there are other examples like this. Could you explain this? P.S. I wish I took up your offer to potentially co-author this thing, but I probably would have gotten in your way. :\
These thoughts aren't clear for me. Rephrase please. EDIT: Added "Bosses" section.
When you're killing the Shadow Boss, you kill the toad player. It's my understanding that you can hurt him faster if you hit him with both players. Why would you kill him, then?

Then you'll sure be might surprised when you see I've shaved no less than 10 seconds from the final product. I'll be satisfied if I can get it under 41 minutes, ecstatic if I can get it under 40. Edit: Reviewed the first 50% and trimmed over 24 seconds. The current time is 40:56.90. I don't believe I'll be able to make it under 40 minutes.

Rough Draft. Currently at 41:18.98. Probably can be improved. Definitely can have some more style / input display fun. I will also start adding soft subs and creating the submission text. Feedback greatly appreciated.
