Are you suggesting an improvement to the script? I'll take it if you have one.

Hello all. As you might have heard, I've been doing some console verifications lately. In order to verify, first, the run must sync to FCEUX. This often doesn't initially work, but can be fixed by manually editing the converted files. As this is incredibly frustrating work for me and often very time consuming, I'm wondering if any of you are up to the task. Here are some current runs that I own the cartridge for that won't sync on FCEUX for me: [430] NES Zoda's Revenge: StarTropics II by Sami in 1:01:00.90 [310] NES Battletoads "warps, 1 player" by Phil, Genisto in 13:27.98 [842] NES Mickey Mousecapade by Randil, CtrlAltDestroy in 07:23.68 I also challenge people to sync the Famtasia runs for Super Mario Bros 2 and Journey to Silius to FCEUX, as they are likely to sync to the NES if successfully converted. Let me know if you have anything for me.

Voting no. You removed my favorite part while barely improving the piano. It was mostly incoherent, skipping from song to song too fast to even realize what you are playing, and more importantly, it was drowned out by the music in the background. Perhaps you could implement a solo over the song that follows the chords, and doesn't spam notes really really fast just because you can. I will not vote yes on a submission that doesn't put the runner section back. That final image was brilliant, and completely made the run for me. Why did you remove it?

I wouldn't be starting until I finish Spider-Man / X-Men: Arcade's Revenge, and if you have a lot to contribute, I'd take your contributions (List you as a coauthor if they are significant), but I think it's fair to say that your IRC demeanor makes me a bit skeptical.

I really liked Magic Pengel back in the day. Would make for a very interesting TAS I'm sure.

Don't do anything until you do the ones on Playlist.

I'll keep looking. You know, I have an original cartridge, so I suppose I could buy the dumping utility...

So, I verified one of The Karate Kid runs and converted the rest. I'm sure they will all sync given a proper delay, but micro500 would have to provide me some code for that. It'd be nice to at least get the current run to sync. Also, I have converted all of the FCEU(X) runs of SMB2 and will verify all of them. While I'm here, is there any chance that we can convert the Famtasia runs? Lastly, we will try to figure out the issue with Startropics after I finish these two items using some debugging. Even if it does desync, though, I won't be able to verify it until I acquire a camera that can record more than a half hour. Shouldn't be a huge problem. Does anyone want to talk about this but me now?

I'd claim this for publishing, but Mister Epic did all the work, so I yield to him.

I don't want to do any of them. I just want them back online as soon as possible so I can focus on the rest of NoYouTube and Playlist...

Oops. Brandon posted a comment on my Silent Scope encode telling me to redo it in HD since Epic removed it, so I completed an HD and stuff and it's uploading now. :\
Then use it. If Mister Epic would like to replace it afterward, that's fine. But seriously dude, why are you removing a lot of videos before replacing them? I just saw you remove Bonk's Adventure's playlist. Do you have a replacement? If so, only delete after it's replaced.

Was there anything wrong with my Sparkster encode? I used the same stuff I always used. Even if there was a warrant for replacing these movies, you really should replace them before deleting them. Priority is being online, not being perfect...what's done is done, but I've already restored some of the videos. If you have any others lying around, please restore them before you replace them.

It exists; they just didn't say it yet. Rest assured, Google Videos is going away.

Enough edits. OK, so first day verifying, and I have at least one definite sync (The Karate Kid) and one possible one (Startropics). Startropics bugs out at the exact same point with the exact same output (Nothing but the down button). I'm going to try re-extracting it tomorrow and playing again, but this might be an issue with the bot for some reason. In addition, the LED stays constantly green at that point, while the red is no longer lit up, further supporting my theory regarding the bot not working. I'll keep everyone posted, and hopefully verify via video Karate Kid tomorrow.

So, I have my bot...can't seem to figure out how to set everything up based on the guide, so I'm hoping micro500 will show up soon! EDIT: All set up, and I verified The Karate Kid! That said, I still have to record it. Also, I had some other ideas: Couldn't the NESBot read the NES's memory? By extension, couldn't a computer program use that and execute some kind of Lua program? It'd be pretty awesome to play against a computer I program via the NESBot, and if a recording utility is in fact plausible (micro500 said it was), then I shouldn't underestimate its power. EDIT 2: I am fairly confident Startropics is verifiable. It beat the first level without a hitch. I'll keep everyone posted. EDIT 3: Startropics seems flawless, but halfway through the third chapter, the NESBot wouldn't stop pressing down. Why would that be? Just some freeze up?

But they're planning on eliminating Google Videos eventually. Besides, we removed all but those two links already.
I fail to see the logic in this. For the time being, Google Videos, and every other streaming site for that matter that we're currently using is still available, and there's no reason to not offer our viewers a perfectly viable option.
When we uploaded the YouTube counterparts to the Google Videos, Grunt said that we should remove the Google Video link, stating that they'd be invalid soon enough. I don't know why an extension of the deadline would change that.

Please use the version he used to dump. You can't just give up after one desync. If it works for the author, it should work for you given the right versions. Also, I just encoded your first version of this run for YouTube, so I bet this one, if considered valid because of the emulator choice, will be great as well!

Link to video Before anyone asks, yes, everything I did in Juggernaut's stage has a purpose. I redid it over and over again, trimming off nearly 100 frames each time until I ended up writing up a page of notes trying to find the best strategy. I'll write them into our submission notes, but for now, I'm wondering if anyone wants to take a guess why I did what I did. :) I'd upload a version of the .smv to Microstorage, but I'm having issues with it. Here it is on MediaFire.
