I'm just wondering here. Since the speeddemosarchive run of this game is 6 minutes faster than the TAS, should this TAS be considered obsolete?
It's been obsolete ever since it was published, maybe even before that.

It was pretty nice, but there were too many pauses in the action and spots that seemed improvable, which might not be improvable, but were annoying to watch. I'll vote no, sorry.

<Cardboard> I am so tempted to write that SMS-TASes aren't supported, just published.

By tha way, it would be interesting to include on the table of data (Console, Game Name, ROM Filename etc) the version of the emulator used, since some authors forget to tell it by the description.
Console, game name, game version and the ROM filename are included in the current submission form. Emulator version is the only one that isn't, but if it's anything other than the latest version, it's usually said in the text.

I don't see how saying you enjoyed a movie (or not) is ever pointless, and that's what's being accomplished by voting in the poll...
The poll is there to help the judges decide if the run should be published or not, so it actually is pretty pointless to vote after it's published.

And I vote no in the 2006 presidential election. Too bad it's as pointless as voting for a movie after it's been published.
Did you vote no or did you vote for hämähäkki väärinpäin?

I didn't like this that much either. While there were many entertaining and amusing parts, they grew old in such a long run. There were also too many pauses in the run, with all the deaths and such, that weren't really amusing after a while.

Perhaps you should edit this section of Forum Rules then, because it says graphical signatures are not allowed.

Dear Bisqwit, is there a reason why Xkeeper is allowed to have a graphical signature? Not only are the colors distracting, but it's mighty annoying when it doesn't say what it is.

The best super-hero? Batman, by far.
I just wanted to say, that Batman is not a superhero. He's just a tough guy with bunch of fancy gadgets, but no super powers of any kind. I also think he's pretty lame, but that's just my opinion. </offtopic>

I know it's not Christmas just yet, but it's soon enough, so I decided to dig up this thread. I don't personally care that much for Christmas nowdays, but I hope everybody is able to relax and spend time with the ones they care about on their days off from work and school and such.

HHS, is this God you're speaking of, your own personal god or the same god Christians worship? EDIT: It seems it your own god. Well then, if this god of yours will punish everyone who insults him and so forth, but the Christian god will save everyone who believes in him, how will they determine which one gets this insulting Christian individual? Will they fight over each of those individuals or what?

I don't think TASer of the year award is such a good idea, since it'll undoubtedly evoke some controversy and grudge. But I think adelikat has deserved some sort of award, because his contributions to this site are outstanding. I suspect that without him we would still have at least 200 runs on the workbench waiting to be published or rejected (The Russian Rejector aka Truncated has also been an active judge). I encourage everybody to send him the finest booze you are aware of, so that adelikat will be happy.

I didn't watch this because I haven't bothered to mess around with the Genesis emulator, but this was a very entertaining run. Great job, JXQ
Er... if you didn't watch this, how do you know it was entertaining?
Because he's Nostradamus, isn't that obvious? Also, this seems pretty interesting. I have to check it out at some point. EDIT: Watched this now and it was pretty cool. Nice work JXQ, this doesn't seem to be an easy game to TAS.

Level 4 done. 498 frames ahead at the moment. This game has probably the most boring autoscrollers ever, so I made adelikat do the 3rd level. He managed to save 4 frames there. 56 frames saved in the 4th level. 27 of those come from optimizations (mostly from better corner cutting) and the rest from a slight strategic change at the end of the level. I hope you enjoy watching the WIP and if you notice anything that seems weird or something that could be done faster, please notify :)

I'm also curious why this got published so quickly despite the votes when most items on here seem to take a week+.
My guess is this: It's short and easy to encode and it's a popular game. Also, I don't think the votes really matter on this run, because it's a clear improvement over a movie that was thought to be perfect.

My avatar is kinda like a holiday avatar. Guybrush is holding a "present"... which he dug up from the grave of his enemy's ancestor.

I assume that's an acronym and because of that, it doesn't really count.
