And? What's your point? Re-read my post because what you just wrote doesn't mean anything.
You were saying that Genisto's run shouldn't have been obsoleted by the 2 player run, I was saying that it would have been obsoleted even if the 2 player run would have been published along with Genisto's run, since it was improvable and adelikat's goal was to obsolete a Famtasia run.

Seems like TAS wouldn't offer much more than your speedrun, which unfortunately wasn't very entertaining. The game is just too repetitive.

I don't see the problem with youtube though.
Then you must be blind. TASes on Youtube, people always post negative comments. That's bad publicity and I don't think Bisqwit wants any of it when it's easily avoidable by not posting any TASes to Youtube.

So what if people say it was cheated, it's a wip
That doesn't change anything. It's still a TAS.

The whole point is ease and laziness (oh and making it possible to watch for people missing roms, especially the more obscure ones or the hacked roms).
It's really not that hard to find some ROMs and play them in the emulator and people usually provide the hack files when they post a WIP or a TAS of it.

I've personally always been against posting TASes to Youtube and other sites like that, since that always makes people confused about TASing. Also, the AVI dumping would need several Gb's of free HDD space, fiddling with the emulators and fiddling with the encoder/movie editor so that it automatically adds the players name and the TAS-statements to the video. It's several times easier if you just downloaded the ROM and the emulator.

bump. (Why doesn't edits put the topic on top of the boards?)
Because it's an edit, not a new post. Also, bumping topics that are on the first page (This was almost at the top if I recall correctly) is pretty pointless. If people are interested in this topic, they'll surely scan the page with their eyes to find it and move their cursors a bit to open it.

Well, the good thing is that you asked first. Keep up with that :) And if you're looking for games to TAS, there's the List Of Ideas and Famtasia improvement list. If you start TASing, don't forget to post WIPs for others to comment on. Welcome to TASvideos and good luck with your future runs.

Why?
It's boring, there's nothing cool about the game to make it entertaining to watch.

Are you thinking about TASing this game? If you are, I'd like to note that the game isn't really suited for TASing and if you submitted a run, it would have to show something REALLY unexpected stuff and it still probably wouldn't be good enough.

OK, I got a movie showing an example of that glitch. But, how do I post it.
Read the FAQ (Generic tips in this situation, but be sure to read all of it). Also, you can edit your posts, so there's no need for making many posts in a row.

Wow .. this has to break the record for the submission that took the least amount of time to get published.
That's not true. Phil submitted and instantly published everybody's absolute favorite run.

Thanks for these, they're great! By the way, is there an easy way to configure the button layout in FCEU?

Would it be worth TASing the NES classics range, although most of these titles are already up on the NES page it might beef up the GBA page.
It would be pretty pointless.

I still don't get it why do you ask others to do things for you which you could just as easily do yourself :S

P.S. Doesn't Splinter Cell and Max Payne allow you to cycle through camera modes (thus allowing First Person?) or no?
Max Payne doesn't allow that and Splinter Cell isn't even a shooter, it's a stealth action game (with some shooting). But yeah, I think you can aim from the first person view in SC. </offtopic>

If they'll accept a submission improving Super Mario 1 by a single frame, they'll accept a submission improving this by 10, and this game is what...1/5 the length of SMB1?
Dark Castle != Super Mario Bros. Dark Castle != Well known, legendary platformer I hope you'll get the point.

You find this game boring and the music bad? It's easy -- don't play it and watch the run then, but don't bury it for those who care, OK?
If the game is boring and over all bad then why encode it just for those couple of people who care?

The FPS ones like Max Payne and Splinter Cell might be interesting too, but FPS movies tend to make me go :( like Doom ;-;
Neither of those games is FPS :P But I'm personally looking forward to the Hitman movie (I hope they use Queen's Hitman as the main theme ;) )

Reception of this run was mostly negative than positive and a judge thought it doesn't meet the quality standards (entertainment wise) of this site, so I see no reasons for this not to be rejected. Also, 40% of 5 people is 2 and 2 isn't many people.
