I have another question about movies: how do I jump directly to a specific frame in a WIP? I've watched the old WIP, how do I skip that so I can watch only the new part of the new WIP?
Your best bet is to make a savestate at the end of the WIP and then load the savestate when playing a new WIP. Be sure to check that the movie is in READ ONLY mode.
and how do I watch the input of the movie? I tried turning on "display input" but nothing shows
Check the hotkey options for input display and toggle it to the button of your choice. I'm not sure how to do this in Snes9x, since I'm not familiar with it, but it should be somewhere in the options.

Dear Alakaza... ALAKTORN, here's a useful link for you: Emulator Resources Please take a moment to read through the page and help yourself to the correct emulator. I'm pretty sure you're intelligent enough to figure out which one you should get. Using the emulator to watch a WIP is pretty common in here and I think everyone should practice this, since it gives you an ability to watch the movie more closely with frame advance and slowdown and input display and such. It's also very easy and doesn't consume someone elses time and resources, because that's what encoding takes! If you want to watch a WIP and there are no other options than the input file, please use that option. Also, please drop the hostile attitude. It's not very nice. Yours truly, Brushy EDIT: Oh and Tompa was nice and gave you instructions on how to watch the movie with the correct emulator. Be sure to thank him!

The submission message mention of inertia making controlling more difficult is an important note in my opinion. It is not as easy as it looks.
Yes, this game is really really really hard to beat.
A "pacifist" version of this run might be more enjoyable. I don't know if that's possible.
I doubt that a pacifist run is possible, since the screen is constantly filled with drunken Russians. It might be possible, but I doubt it. There are some very narrow paths and there you'll quickly find yourself in a situation where there's a drunk Russian in front of you and several other drunk Russians bumping into your car and making you bump in the car in front of you damaging your precious Lada and eventually destroying it.

Scribblenauts is not a game to speedrun, but to make an entertaining playaround.

Okay, now I watched it and I must say that the second level looks awesome with all those little glitches and stuff. At those rotating platforms, are you sure it's not faster to stay on some of them that are going to the left, as it seems your speed increases while on them. Other than that, I can't think of anything to say. Keep up the great work!

Nope, I'm pretty sure it's luck manipulation. That's what Ilari told me, at least.

Why don't you kill more of the blue cars by ramming? You seem to avoid them far, far more than the red ones.
It's for luck manipulation. If you ram cars, others spawn and get in your way.

I am also interested in participating in this. But, since I am still working on that last dream team contest movie Atma mentioned, I'm thinking maybe I should run the competition instead. That is, unless someone else really wants to do it or people somehow find me unfit for running it.
I can watch Truncated run this competition. I hope that helps.

This is now even more way out of track, since you changed the first post and the topic title. Now almost none of the messages here are actually relevant to the topic.

May I suggest, that every new challenge would be posted in its own separate post, because it's really hard to follow what the heck is going on here.

Is there still dispute about what makes a 100% run of this game a 100% run? To me it's clear as day: Collect every single star coin, so that every world has the "Complete *picture of a star coin*" text. This long run is far more interesting to me than the short run, because I bet this showcases a lot more interesting strategies and tricks and stuff. If I could TAS, I would do this run myself, so I'm really looking forward to seeing this finished.

Voting no, because it does not beat the current record.
This submission is far more entertaining though. I still have to vote no, because it fails to meet its primary goal.

That's YT's fault, sorry.
I don't think it is. There have been A/V desync problems with your encodes for a long time and I don't see those problems with anyone else's encodes on Youtube. What kind of encoding methods are you using?
No, it's YT's fault. I rewatched the entire raw and nothing went wrong.
You watched the raw recording from the emulator or your encode? I remember downloading one of your encodes with A/V desync and I remember others saying the same too. I also haven't noticed any desyncs in other people's encodes on Youtube, so there must be something wrong in your end. I encourage you to post your encoding methods (scripts, work stages etc.) on the Encoder's corner and try to look for a solution with other encoders, so that people can enjoy your encodes with no A/V desync :)

3-1 can be improved for sure. You don't need to stop and shoot all those crocs.
The whole run can be improved, but this game is really tedious to optimize. Would you like to try though? :)

Is there a reason why spiderman games are habitually bad?
There are at least 3 Spider-Man games that are good: Spider-Man for PSX, Spider-Man 2: Enter Electro for PSX and Spider-Man 2 for GC, PS2 and Xbox. One can say that the Spider-Man 2 for PS2 console generation is great! Go play it! As for this run, I voted yes. It's quite fast paced and entertaining. EDIT: It seems that the PC version of Spider-Man 2 sucks.

How can these cute and peaceful kittens be evil?
My tireless years of historical scholarship have revealed that, among others, Mao Zedong, Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin, Saddam Hussein, Osama Bin Laden, Joseph Ratzinger, Ted Kaczynski, and George W. Bush all started their lives as cute and peaceful kittens!!!
This has to be a biased research funded by a group of dogs or dog-like people who hate cats!
