Pure Interpreter is more sync stable and shouldn't desync like DynaRec sometimes will (I'm not sure whether it never desyncs or if it is just rare). I'm not sure about Z64 Hle Video though...

Awesome, this release has some bug fixes and features I've been wanting for a while now! Good job BizHawk developers.

RachelB, you edited your first post back in 2013-01-07. I wonder if your information needs an update or is it current?
Um, only change would be with hle, which i think should be okay for all games not on this list, but don't get mad at me if you use hle and then there's some problem.
I thought EURGB60 is also OK to be on now because it only affects PAL games so it shouldn't matter for NTSC and it should be on for PAL? Also now you don't need the copyrighted files because some are included but they aren't as good as real dump.

Great job on the improvement! Also I like how Pokémon Red is used and the more accurate BizHawk timing.

I agree with Zeupar. The screenshot is not part of the input, but it’s part of the movie; what does it matter if the input ends earlier?
Agreed. But I still think the screenshot should not give away the "GOLD TEETH" or the "Ho! This is geting even better!" EDIT: Now that I think about it there are not many interesting screenshots that don't include those two things.

I think a 100% abc run would be technically interesting but very hard to make. Also some TASes have special encodes but it is always in addition to the standard encode, but the file size for the encode wouldn't be insanely huge because those 11 hours are very repetitive so it should compress decently well.

Does this movie have the lightning bolt just because of better entertainment than previous runs? A one frame improvement is significant in this game but not to the average viewer so I don't think it should have the lightning bolt IMHO.

The developer uploaded a new video: "Super Mario 64. Per-pixel lighting VS Per-vertex one" Link to video The left is per-vertex lighting, the right is per-pixel lighting which is more accurate and I assume GLideN64 will support. The difference is subtle but I can see the largest difference in the shadows and textures of Bowser's nails and Bowser's shell (especially the white edge). EDIT: GOOOAL!!! https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/gliden64-graphics-plugin

gonetz (the person who made the original Glide64 plugins) is working on a more modern plugin which he plans on being the most advanced plugin available. Right now he has an Indiegogo campaign to collect fund which will allow him to do rapid development on the plugin and hopefully have it released for January 2015. The campaign can be found here. You can also take a look at his blog for details on N64 video emulation. I am trying to get in touch with the developer in hopes of integrating this plugin with Bizhawk as soon as it is released. The samples he provides look fantastic, so I'd really like to see this plugin used in the TAS community. Unfortunately from what I can tell he doesn't want to release the plugin or the source code until he is comfortable with it's development, and without the money to work on it it seems like that might not be for a long time. If you can I urge you to donate before the campaign ends on September 5th.
Thanks for the information, micro500. I really hope he reaches his goal. I have already donated and even if people only donate a couple dollars it will really help. Hopefully this helps developers get more interest and knowledge of N64 emulation!

The movie is compressed using a .zip file renamed to a .bk2, right click on the file and choose to open in any archiver you have (I recommend 7-zip). http://tasvideos.org/BizHawk/BK2Format.html

I admit it has been to low to my hope, I thought the problem with saves was finally fixed but no. And just for author, NSMB wii doesn't desync at all even with old revisions... :/ If you want a REAL example of what desync often, it's Sonic 4, THC can confirm it.
NSMB Wii has desynced for me before. As for the save data corruption that seems to be a new issue that is not related to the desync fix. But fixing that is pretty much necessary for TASing.

Does this mean that we're going to see a lot more Wii TASing?
Hopefully. Wiimote desyncs were annoying as hell which made me not want to TAS with the Wiimote.

Just new super mario bros. wii. But I know that game usually desyncs a lot. If you want you could test another game.

The Wiimote desync bug has been fixed in R1921 / PR #505 (https://github.com/dolphin-emu/dolphin/pull/505). It should make the Wiimote no longer desync (with the correct settings in Thread #12484: Important information for tasing with dolphin). In my testing I didn't get any desyncs. As for GC controller, that is already stable.

Thanks for the attempt Buddybenj, but I have no idea what those are supposed to be, if you could explain how you thought when you designed them it would be great. To me they look like crosshairs and that has nothing to do with Hourglass-Resurrection per se.
Well originally it was supposed to be an hourglass but then I started changing stuff around. It still has the hourglass logo colours, however. Got4n has a pretty cool idea about how it looks like a clock which I think is cool (but unintended).

You asked for some icons so I gave it a shot. I've never made icons so hopefully they're good! http://makepixelart.com/artists/anonymous/hourglass-1 http://makepixelart.com/artists/anonymous/hourglass-2 http://makepixelart.com/artists/anonymous/hourglass-3 http://makepixelart.com/artists/anonymous/hourglass-4 They are all very similar to each other; just slight modifications. Also I'm unsure if you already have a logo you like so if you do just ignore these.
