Dudes. You don't want a video of me setting R.O.B. up while in my underwear.

Dearest Brushy. What do I owe you for the candy which was brought to my vicinity this weekend? Sincerely, Cardboard.

Let me start off by saying that I always wanted a GBA Micro but could never find one. Thanks for pulling that wound open :( Yes, 3D is most likely the future. And the future isn't today. Yeah, I'm getting old.

Sure, I agree. But I do not classify it as a portable console, since it will not be easy to play a game "with ease" while riding the bus or whatnot. My issue here is that it sounds like it is virtually unplayable unless you are indoors and not moving.
Why?
Myes, excellent question. See I am one of those fucked up people who like to play video games while I'm walking down the street. Now, this has been close to impossible with the recent portable consoles, and from what I've seen, game utilizing the 3D effect pretty much forces you to press the console up against your face and then do cool shit like turn and twist it to move the camera or character or whatnot. See this is cool, I can imagine doing this at home, but then again, if I'm at home, I rather play PS3 or Gamecube, due to most excellent line up of games. I guess what brings my piss to a boil is the price tag. If every release title was included with the 3DS, then yeah, it'd be worth it. As for now, 3 hours of 3D-gaming before recharge is required... yeah. No. I just don't see it.

My issue here is that it sounds like it is virtually unplayable unless you are indoors and not moving. Which I do not really like. For a console to be portable for me, I want to be able to play it on the move. As of now, it's either the GBASP or robbing someone of their android phone so I can kill pigs using birds. The PSP is close to useless while bringing it with you, the DS is not my cup of tea (See, I like games, not gimmicks), and this sounds like yet another step away from what I like.

For the GBA, we got Game Boy Advance, Game Boy Advance SP and Game Boy Micro. Between these machines, only the form factor is changed (+ backlight since SP). All the games worked on each platform, so nobody was really fucked.
You cannot seriously have bought and played a game on a regular Game Boy Advance, and then compared it to the SP (half size, built in battery, backlight) and not felt fucked. Seriously. The only issue with the SP is that you needed a cable (= another way to make more money) to be able to use headphones. Otherwise, they were like night and day.

No. Into a glorified PSP.
So it will be slightly better than crap? Awesome!

Flygon is right. The 3DS is not "another DS model", but rather "the DS's successor".
Like I stated, if it sells well enough, like we know all Nintendo products do, then yes, it will turn into a successor. If it doesn't, then we'll just have to wait and see what happens. But yeah, it will. Because every kid out there deeply desires to be able to play Mercenaries from Resident Evil 4 while on the go on the very first possible day. The console itself might be a good idea (The Power Glove didn't work back in the 90's, it worked when pimped out as the Wii, the Virtual Boy didn't work back in the 90's, it'll probably work while pimped out as the 3DS) but I can see no way to justify that insane price tag. I'm terribly sorry for not wanting to bite into the 3D-bullshit (I'm even more furious that every fning game needs a 3D-function these days) and buy a very expensive console upon release which has quite possibly the worst line up of games since the Playstation 2. But hey, your money.

Effectively turning it into a DS?
You do realize that the DS will be succeeded by the 3DS in the near future, right? I give the DS 3 years until it's completely phased out.
I do believe I know how the video game industry works, yes. And it sounds reasonable. If it's not a massive fiasco (Which it won't be, for reasons I will not comment on), the DS will most likely die within a few years yes. But to get one on release sounds extremely stupid in my opinion, due to reasons I've stated. It's a hybrid of a portable and non-portable console, but not in the "We get the good from both types!", but the other way around I'm afraid.

Not the least interested. A) The latest portable console was the Game Boy Advance SP. Small, lightweight, uncomplicated, but easy enough to play while riding the bus, walking or standing in the line to the cinemas. The battery lived for approximately two eternities, and there was quite a great possibility to play games with one hand (I know, I spent a week in hospital with only one working arm, and I played the GBA over the DS), due to some games not trying to be gimmicky and, as previously mentioned, the console not being large as a fridge. This 3D-thing will most likely only allow you to play at home, or in a friend's basement, which pretty much kills the concept of it being a portable console in the first place. B) Let's, for the sake of the argument, say that it isn't a portable console. In that case, we're down to a clunky piece of hardware, costing more than any of the other home consoles, but this piece of machinery does not really allow for you to invite friends over and play, as you can with the other leading home consoles. C) This is sort of a first-gen console (not really I suppose, but close enough), and as always, people buying the first-gen of a console gets fucked. Exceptions being the older consoles which pretty much only were one generation. D) The first battery time annonuced, and the drain/recharge-rate which was mentioned in the same sentence, better be a sick joke. So no. The only game remotely interesting would be Resident Evil Mercenaries. But wait! I already own Resident Evil 4. Nintendo re-using a game for the nth time? NO WAI! Ok so I'll be hated for this. So be it.

Did you ever play Chronicles of Riddick - Escape from Butcher Bay for the Xbox or PC? If you didn't, go find Chronicles of Riddick - Assault on Dark Athena. It's one of the by far most amazing games I've ever played, if you are into semi stealth-action.

It would be more fun if it was a seel which belonged to the ferret on the seal of approval, and then it'd be named Ferret's Seel of Approval. About the run, watched it last night, and this is broken beyond repair. I did lol when the overworld character sprite turned into a frog for no real reason. That was awesome.

Hey guys. Sorry for taking so long, I got stuck in one of the room. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1787416046/Ninja%20Five-0%20%23%20GBA.vbm Harbour level 1 done, 177 ahead. Gained 91 frames in this level, most of them came in the vertical sections. I'll patch up a video encode soon.

Ok, this is a very weak yes after a lot of consideration. The game is really weak and horrible, the music makes it almost unbearable and the sound effects are shit at its best. However the glitches are cool enough to put this up from meh to yes, and it's not too long.

Did you do any comparasion on how "slow" the driving levels were compared to how many shots you fired? Still haven't made up my mind on what to vote here... Also yes, that was the door.

You did miss shots in both driving stages, any reasons for this? And you didn't jump to enter the door labeled with red and an arrow... was it slower to do so?

The issue here is most likely that people either a) watch the obscure runs and dislike them, and does not want to vote no, as voting no makes you a bad person who slays kittens, or b) does not watch the obscure runs because they don't know the game, and suppose that they will dislike it, and once again, the fear of voting no. The issue here is also that you are forced to explain your No-vote, and with people (not just the author, but fans of the game (which more often is the case)) sometimes go apeshit over a No-vote on their favorite game. If you are so sure that you are "not going to like a run", watch it, confirm that you disliked it and do some contribution by casting a vote according to your opinion. And oh yeah. You might turn out positively surprised. I'm not saying "EVERYBODY SHOULD WATCH EVERY RUUUUN" but with so many great contributers who encode pretty much every run for even the most obscure systems, take 12 minutes of the time you'd spend snickering at icanhazcheezeburger or stalking hot girls on Facebook and watch a run starring something which can hardly be defined as a human being. Do this every now and then, especially for runs which seems to have gone forgotten, and you'll do some contribution to the site.

Fuck yes, this is what Turrican would look like if he was a tiger-demon-beast-ninja-warrior-hero and not a machine. I voted yes.

I have to agree with you, this game is too much of the same thing. It didn't cut it for me, so I have to vote no, sorry.

Afraid I'm going to have to vote no. The fly-stages were the ones that killed this game for me.
