Well, it isn't just a translation patch. It removes all the debug crap to make it as if it were complete. Unless you're using a different version.

for your information, the www isn't redundant as it can be used to make the difference between one site and an entirely different site. your original post already proves this. The WWW has been there since the beginning. No sense in being a hardass about it. "I refuse to have a proper internet address because I think it doesn't matter." Well guess what, it does. What SHOULD happen is that browsers refuse to take an address without a subdomain.

if gameplay videos are a violation of the terms of use, exactly what CAN be shown in the gaming category?

That screenshot has me wondering how the score system works. comparing it with my own playthrough on youtube, you have 1/3 the time, killed less stuff, but my score is only about 2/3 of your score.

I know that, but they aren't exactly worth getting to.

you people speak as if the combo system is OMGIMPOSSIBLE when it isn't at all. I can frequently get 16 hit combos, except maybe on one or two songs. In any case, the combo system isn't very useful as it will almost always take longer to do the combo than to play without them. Using them to manipulate what happens after a normal attack is about their only use, or at least only taking a few combo hits before stopping it. Since the combos appear to gt less power after the first few hits, the end result is that combos help more for regular players than speedrunners.

Why do you keep insulting me?
Why do you keep pretending to be so smart when others already know exactly how to deal with the situation presented in a more efficient manner than you do?
Your only contribution to this thread has been to insult and attack me in a completely stupid and childish manner. When I clearly asked you why you are doing this, you refuse to answer, and instead keep insulting me. I can't deduce anything else than that you are just an infantile moron.
Might as well say the same about you then, as you're unable to comprehend simple things others are trying to tell you.

Then you're just basically agreeing with what I said, that you're wrong and choose to be because of what you are. Thanks.

So I guess super mario bros is a giant cutscene then, since you have to move in that game too. Also, definition: A cinematic sequence which helps further the story without giving the player direct control.

whut. this game doesn't have cutscenes. and the levels don't have names. they have numbers. Those are passwords. At least play and understand the game yourselves before checking out the TAS. >_>

opening a folder never does anything. I don't know where you people get that.

In my opinion, the soundtrack is kind of a letdown. Especially the percussion: I don't think they used the noise channel as skillfully as they did in Rockman 2 and Rockman 3. The eight stages' music have a Megaman5'y feel to them. I think it is funny that they reused some themes from MM2 though. :) Awaiting to see a SDA speedrun of it...
Probably has nothing to do with what you're saying, but I should mention they didn't bother emulating NES sound in this game.

What is this thing supposed to look like when i've got it up and running? Are there any keys that aren't documented? I've been trying to prepare this thing to potentially watch movies with but things seem off, not the least of which includes certain hotkeys listed in the text file not working. I think it might be significant enough to think it's not going to work if I try to play a movie on it because I probably don't have it set up right.

I screwed around with one game (ddonpchj.zip) yesterday, and the movie desynced about 30-40 seconds in. I might have an idea on the reason: I played most of it on 20% speed as opposed to frame advance, but the music always played at its normal rate (huh?). I take it FBA doesn't slow down all emulation at the same time, so there are disrepancies in processing time, resulting in incorrect lagging.
Having just fooled around with it(FBA) now, I found other games where the music doesn't slow down but the game still played perfectly after I replayed. It seems to be a thing that only happens with those particular games from those particular companies that have problems, I guess?

Not actually looking to TAS this, though any of you are welcome to try... But I'm TRYING to work on figuring out how to tell when something I've done meant something, completion-wise. Not everything you do counts for something, but not everything you do counts for a whole 1%. Now while I've found some values that show the % and a number that seems to increase whenever you do something (7E00C1 and 7E00C2), you still have to enter the menu and press select+X to display your % before the values there get updated. I'm puzzled over the whereabouts of the real thing, if it even exists. I'm hoping to use this info to give myself a list of things to do to get 100% in the game, but at the rate this goes having to check the menu so often, it may never get done. If anyone would like to help untangle the mystery (especially if you plan to create a 100% TAS) it would be much appreciated. I just hope I didn't find the only option.

I'm still waiting for an emulator that can properly record input from Cave's games. There aren't many supported, but I want to see someone get the highest possible scores for those games. >_>

There is one game with a definite "end" also, by the name of Solaris. The game itself is comprised of a bunch of maps connected in a mazelike way, where every object takes you to a fight or otherwise a warp jump. The object is to get to the blinking star in one of those sectors... It can take quite a while to finish that game (probably moreso to do EVERYTHING in the game, as everything happens in real time, whether you're there for it or not. some systems' bases will be under attack before you even get to them... Managing your time would be a big challenge.)

Why? There are a few games that seem to never stop getting harder as you play... Example? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mXK54HS5bQQ

well, as I said before, doing things that way may well be the only way to do some things. Questionable reliability is just one of those things that you'd have to live with. In any case, they wouldn't be acceptable anyway, so it would still be good just for fun.
