Well thats good for hosting and all, but as a viewer it doesnt bother me how big the file is Ill watch it. I mean thats what torrent is all about. But its cool, not like it matters since I got my problem fixed. Btw, how much of a size reduction we talking about here? Is there some kind of figure you could give me?

Good news everyone. I figured out the problem. The new Nvidia drivers are messed up. Drivers version 77.27. If anyone else is having the same problem as I was, here is the fix. 1. Go to the Display Properties control pantel 2. Go to the Settings Tab 3. Click "Advanced" 4. Open the nVidia driver tab 5. Click "Color Correction" 6. Set “Apply color changes to:” to "All" 7. Set "Color Profile:" to "Advanced Mode" 8. Click Restore Defaults If that doesnt work, try rolling back to the last version of the driver.

Well I just got the Simon's Quest vid by Walkerboh. And jsut got the same messed up problem. Which is odd because it uses Divx 4. Used Gspot to see what the problem was with that. Not only did it tell me my Divx 4 codec was misconfigured, but that the video was currupt. I used the Archive.org link to get it instead of the Torrent. As far as misconfigured thing I dont understand that since I dont know how to confiure it in the first place. Edit: btw just used Gspot to take a peek at the Castlevania time attack by Phil and Genisto and Im getting no error involving Divx 4 configuration...odd

Nah I sure havent fixed it. Whats really messed up about it, not only were the h264 vid messing up, but so were the normal avi vids after I installed ffd. For example, Castlevania:CotM, and Bionic Commando. Both were fine until hte installation of ffdshow, then afterwards they were blury and the color was all crazy looking. So I uninstalled ffd and they worked fine. Im going to try and reinstall it , maybe something messed up along the way. Codecs can be really fickle from my past experiances.

ffdshow-20050803, as far as settings, I just checkmarked h264. I have codecs for jsut about everything else. After it installed I looked at the options and didnt see anything that I thought would fix it. Though ffdshow is new to me.

Ok, so I got the most recent tetris video. Noticed the link about codecs, so I read up, got what I thought was all the needed codecs/player. I got ffdshow and mplayer. I made sure to ge the newest version of both. I checked the other threads, but none of them helped e out with my problem. That being that the video plays....but looks horrible. Its like someone drew tetris on my screen with a crayon, and then tried to rub it off with their hand. Any clue why it looks like that? Another question. Why switch to some obscure codec that seems really hard to use, I mean videos looked fine last time I came here. Just a question I have no idea about the pros and cons of the old types vs. h264.
