I wonder which of these games are expansion pack and which aren't, because I've noticed generally expansion pack equates with desynching, so maybe those can be first to remove (or at least mark) from list...

Poll: despite this obviously going to be superior to SDA, do people want to see this finished? it's clearly a slow game, Fire+Fire does seem quite boring to viewers, and while this is good for me to run to keep me sane with no desynchs, it seems like a waste if it won't receive a lot of attention, despite being a N64 game. I'm not giving up, but... should I even bother?

The problem is that while I am currently 10 frames ahead, that difference is going to be lost easily in the boss fight since the luck manipulation works differently than I had hoped. I only have one good frame to enter with a perfect sequence, and both eggs bounce meaning I have to jump on them from above the nest, which wastes a little time, plus two people potentially working on one run = competition = Arne wins by a very slight amount. But meh this should be in the DKC2 thread. Onto this run- I'll take a look and should have feedback by tonight or tomorrow.

yeah, that suprised me a little. It's the reason I'll never play Wario in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

I'll investigate comicalflop's strategy of using read-only save states for the desyncing areas and see how well that works here.
I'm actually not sure if this is correct, as I figured out my Starcraft test run desynched because I was reviweing from the beginning of the level. when I got halfway through, I ran the thing from the reset and it desynched, so this might be incorrect, I'll have to investigate more. But definetly review it often, especially since you've reached the "desynch" area. Desynch area makes me think... maybe it is certain areas that desynch, my rayman 2 run desynched at one laggy part frequently and Guanobowl had his run desycnh a lot when doing the ganon tower glitch. I think you might have something karma-ish going on with your computer/emulator since you've played Gex with very little desynchs and so far MM with little trouble.. but we'll see, report what happens.

ok, I was just wondering if they could be gotten faster, so good to know that the mechanics are different from Mario and Rayman where you can collect items by hardly even touching them. TTC was awesome btw.

invertebrate, reptile, wahetever they're all the same lol I'll take a look today maybe, can't wait to see a 30 second improvement Edit: One question I have... how big is Banjo's hit detection? I ask because I'm looking at collecting the notes, and wonder if turning before you hit the note and just barely collecting it by one frame is possible, like collecting coins in Mario 64, where you turn before you touch it and can still get it

Tatl is normally white, and Tael is purple, but here yeah it's yellow/pink in the AVI, emulator color problem.

Nah I got it. It's a little weird, earlier it just brings a white page completely full of text... The vid was great... one thing I have noticed is that side hopping up an incline is not as fast as in OoT with link, perhaps even slower than normal backwalking/spinning. I don't know though, visually it looked slower.

Loved the WIP. Can't believe i haven't been following this. I agree with Comicalflop though. If those shots wern't taken into the ground then you would have 100% shot accuracy at the end.
Those shots make enough noise to get guards to open doors for me. Every shot fired has a purpose, whether or not it connects- guaranteed.
Aha so it's not just itchy trigger finger. I just had to watch these vids over and over, I couldn't get enough I saw a few minutes of the SDA run with all the floor-watching and hated it, but saw this and totally loved it.

I thought if he did use savestates and slowdown, and if it didn't desynch that it would prove that it wouldn't in the future... *shrug*

has 007 World is not enough been considered? I read that it's not as good, with an autoaim that's not beneficial, slower reload speed, slightly different gameplay, levels that are different, but that in some cases the same run/shoot mayhem remains, would a TAS of this be as good as the original? Oh, and of the AVI's Silo is my favorite... goes to show that when you sign up to work for a bad guy, apply for the scientist job with the whitecoat so that when the TASing agent comes in he doesn't shoot you in the head at blinding speed.

Yes, but in general make sure the game emulates well and, more importantly, does not desynch when making, there is nothing more frustrating than that as AKA and myself can attest to. A pattern I've noticed is earlier N64 games that don't have the expansion pack don't desynch. Later games that require it will look great as TASes, but we'll have to wait until Mupen is upgraded for those games to be dominated.

BEST TEST RUN EVER. Um yeah I know it looked sloppy and all, but not bad for 0 rerecords. No desynchs whatsoever, so this is doable. What is questionable is it's entertainment value, nobody has heard of this game before most likely and while it's not slow, it's not impressive either, unless someone finds TASing it to be fast.

wow those rocked. only thing I noticed is extra shots taken with the soviet gun thingy (because I know all about guns and their names NOT) I know it's an autofire but sometimes shots are made into the ground for no reason. Besides that those were really fast, headshots took like 0.1 seconds and were perfectly aimed.

The cape is in of itself very good to watch. However, we viewers have become completely accustomed to watching cape shortcuts, since the 120 run and 11 run use them exclusively. As seen in the very tempting castle run, alternate shortcuts that normally weren't thought possible with tiny Mario look pleasing because we're used to seeing the cape bypass such obstacles.

yeah it's in sentbox. I sent it maybe 16 days ago, maybe more. I know for a fact he's the quiet type, so I really don't know what it means.

oh yeah I have this ROM... I thought it was emulated very well. The controls are notoriously difficult, especially when trying to turn at top speed. As with many other games, it begins to get better the more the game progresses. Don't know much about if this game has skippable parts or can be broken, or if any% or 100% should be done.
