I know that I downloaded the basic pack, not the MEGA pack... and how do I change those Codec settings? Tried downloading the mega pack- I couldn't play the movie at all. Downloaded the newest ffdshow- still same problems.

Hm, maybe I can hex edit that in, you can get almost all 4 pigs in one gulp but I died... and I dunno about the whole transparency issue, it doesn't bother me too much and in the later water levels I think the water does natually become transparent for you to see better, I remember seeing clearly in test runs of the water levels. I think that only small bodies of water are solid blue, because precise maneuvering inside them is not nescessary. But I could be wrong.

Grassland Level 4 complete Definetly the fastest and most fun level so far. Navigating in the caves was no trouble at all- I don't think there were any time wasters, in fact several time-savers were found. Of note: In the first room outside, Coo slides down some blocks against each other to create a very weird sliding affect down the pyramid blocks Using Stone for fast vertical descent- saved maybe 10-20 frames Swallowing an enemy mid flight does not slow down speed if you get as close to the enemy as possible Mini Boss fight- Oh my god I loved this. The invincibility unfortunately makes the music not play, but I hit the boss on the first possible frame with stone to kill him very fast. More caves- found fastest way to hit those blocks and keep going as Coo- took damage twice, the first time strangely, by getting hit and the next frame mounting Coo you don't have the knock backwards affect of being hit Thoughts on run so far?

Hmm, maybe it is just because my laptop has not been turned off for a while, and has too many programs running... I'll try that.

I just downloaded all the new codec and stuff... still same problem, as soon as level 1 starts in the AVI the sound is half a second ahead of the video. Positioning to a new section of the movie resets the sound, which will again desynch in the next 1-5 seconds. I think I may be running too many programs at once, but I've seen the AVI's of movies here and some of them never desynch, some do some of the time, but I have yet to see my own run play perfectly.

Hm then I don't know what movie you're referring to, that's the only one I remember involving web skipping with the Skultula

You must start from a reset of the game, with all empty game files.

For everyone that enjoyed this, be sure to watch through the WIPs and process of my current TAS of Kirby Dreamland 3 100%. While probably not as exciting or amazing as the DKC2 102%, it's by no means a slow game, and it's beginning to get really fun to make this one, and relaxing as it is not as hard to make. After that is probably Kirby 64 100%, and maybe improvement on this run after that.

No, I think player status is if you've made a published movie, I've seen many members that are players with less than 100 posts.

Hm I merely noted that item collection is slightly faster with it and wondered why both don't use it.

Does anyone remember if the port of this SNES game to GBA is any good? I'm strictly a SNES player but someone suggested me to do a GB TAS of Donkey Kong Land 2, and in my research I found Super Donkey Kong Country 2 for GBA. Should I try a run of this, if I find it?

I noticed that one run uses boomerang and one doesn't. is there a decision for this? is it for the difference between 100% and any%? What's the latest progress on these two beautiful runs?

My plans for V9, if anyone is wondering, are not for a while. I am going to give it a few months, work on Kirby Dreamland 3 100% and Kirby 64 100%, and then after a while I'm going to start this again. Most likely there are some levels that are already optimal, so I'm going to try and paste that input into V9 (although that hasn't worked for me before, maybe with the improved SNES movie slicer I have it'll work) and if not, then I'll work on each level making it 100% flawless and 100% entertaining. Reasons for waiting: I want to make the two next TASes first (Kirby Dreamland 3 is starting to get really fun/interesting) and, more importantly, 1) I want Arne to show what he's been working on, and if minor details in his levels can be applied to mine and 2) I want V8 to be the published run that everyone sees for a while, and it'd be poor form to make 2 DKC2 submissions that'd have to be looked at, published, and encoded all over again within a short time frame.

Fractal, I thought your WIP was awesome. Since I have not seen DeHackEd's movie I don't know where it is that you save seconds, but it looks good nonetheless.

I'll take a looksie after classes tomorrow at Ripsaw Rage. I thought I had imnosia, but I just went to bed too early in High School, but now that I'm going to bed late working on homework and TASes I'm falling asleep better. And taking naps. And sleeping through my alarm and missing the first class of the day. (Only happened once) Yeah, but that one minute with Squitter is going to be pure arachnid orgasm. Make it the best that you can mate ;P Haha page 6 of this topic is just you and me posting so far lol At some point my member status is going to switch to player right?

Grassland level 3 complete As expected, Coo turbo flying is very fast. and I have decided to not use Gooey unless it really saves a lot of time to use him, so this is going to be the lamest (not in a bad way) 2 player TAS ever. And now it is a takes damage to save time run as well. Abusing Coo throughout the run as much as possible is going to be best, except of course when I have to get some other animal to get a heart piece. The next level is going to be tricky, because of the caves with very low ceilings :( but I did a test of the boss fight, and Coo with stone is a very fast boss fight indeed (and that was unassisted) After this, I'll probably do an any% run abusing Coo like the speedy owl he is. It'll be very similar to Kirby's Adventure NES, with the abuse of UFO.

As time goes on and I complete more TASes, if no one else does this I will truly spend a great amount of time to really see if I can complete this. Currently with workload picking up, working on other TASes and other stuff I cannot do this, but I promise to bring this back and fully try once I have more time and no other TAS projects.

I agree that the 22 minute run is better, becuase it's a better TAS i.e. shows the game beaten extroadinarily with wonderful reflexes and acrobatics, instead of a glitch. 22 minutes of entertainment vs. 10 seconds of glitch/4 minutes of text = no contest

Now I just need to find out why my AVI's sound/video easily desynchs, it's probably CPU related and having too many programs running at once Also, make sure to rate it after voting/viewing

Not only is Frank Caliendo great, but I saw the one Red Sox game on TV where Dennis Leary was commentating for one inning. That was extremely funny

When using a gamepad, are you able to configure frame advance to a button on the gamepad? I don't remember if that is possible since my PS2 USB adaptor died out quite some time ago. If that is possible (with Mupen at least) then I think I'd start doing a couple of N64 Tases.
I would as well- I'm sorta cheating out by doing Kirby 64 100%, of which there is no need for the analog stick. hehe I also don't have any such controllers to plug into the computer, I use my keyboard.

Here's level 2 completed Grassland level 2 Found some time savers compared to the test run, and discovered that swallowing an enemy and shooting it in midair does not lose any speed, good to know
