Now that we have greatly expanded the consoles that are TASable, we have a lot of new uncharted water. Perhaps we could explore a completely unTASed, unspeedrun(ran?) game on one of these platforms?
Why can't we do this normally? I almost always prefer a new run than an improvement.

If you want to submit the run here, I recommend that you use the U version for 2 reasons: -I think the U ROM is less laggy; at least it seems that way to me, when comparing with BoMF's old testrun. -Unless the J ROM has some sort of time-saving trick that you cannot perform in the U version, you should use U. Also, if submitting, you should definitely start the run from power-on, not from savestate. Any of the cutscene skipping stuff is nice and all, but that all requires SRAM. Honestly, the run is going to be good enough on its own, a few cutscenes here and there is not going to be that big of a deal, especially since long segments of time are spent inside the levels, unlike say Knuckles Chaotix where 30 seconds of gameplay is interspersed between 2 minute cutscenes.

I don't think that left+right, or up+down works the same as in the J version of KSS. Flame glitch didn't work... and based on how the game handles holding 2 opposite buttons at once, I don't think any of the extreme glitches from J version will transfer here.... especially since I'm guessing physics were probably taken from the U version.

Rerecords are included in TAS tools for a reason. Why don't you fix these errors if you know they exist?

Out of curiosity, this run is 30 seconds faster than the currently published run. Why didn't you submit it when you finished it? Also similar, didn't you fully complete MM6 as well and then not submit?

Edit: OOPS! My mistake. Here is your old run. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1428156819/mega_man_3-MEGAMAN4%20WIP1.fcm All 34 minutes of it.

Once something is uploaded to microstorage, it is always there. If you remember exactly the name of the .fcm, perhaps you may be able to find the exact link to it, and DeHackEd can browse through the database and find it.

According to this, it looks like that boost you got can be done almost off any ledge.

If you have a bump, you should get that checked out. I'm Doctoring as fast as I can! I hate to sound like a broken record, but I'm steadfastly working on this, and it's slow work, so stop asking. I just completed the 3 Immature Tetarti operations, so it's still a long haul. Because after this is the mature Tetarti, then the 5 Pempti operations, then chap 5, then chap 6 which is basically a repeat of chap 5. Oh, and This is weird. Edit: Pempti is FINALLY done. On to Chapter 5.

Looks good! Fast paced, and the end result is what I expected. I also liked how you noodled with the stylus before the next puzzle would fall into place. it seems a little weird that you can finish the puzzle before it falls into place; that ruins the difficulty of it a little bit, but oh well. Fix what you need to fix and finish it, I say!

I really don't see why so many people don't realize that some people posting WIPs forget to include the entire link when posting the file. If you see &%$%$#^$#$#.m64, simply highlight the entire thing, and copy-paste it into a new tab, rather than only clicking what you see. It probably will synch for me as well, so will watch tonight. Edit: So it looks like if the last part before the .m64 is ), then the .m64 isn't included in the link. So, let that be a lesson to anyone loading something to microstorage, don't have (3) or something like that be the last part of the file name before the movie type. Aaaaand that's a fricking fantastic WIP.

I am now 100% certain that every time I go away on vacation, an awesome run is submitted without my knowledge. Good run, you kept the antics going constantly, used new tricks/glitches, and put those bosses down in the dust. What I expected of this game, yes vote.

Well hiya there Marina lovers. I posted a WIP in IRC, and I thought it'd be uncouth of me not to put it on the forums too. Gold Gem WIP (goes up to 1-07) Now ordinarily I'm not the WIP showing type, but I'm posting this to further gauge interest in a full gold gem run. Due to a massive discovery I made today, I'm hexing in 2 improvements to 1-03 and 1-05 (not featured in this .m64) Enjoy!

Can anybody get The World Ends With You to not crash? in 9.2 it freezes at about frame 7,000ish, and in 9.4 the 2 screens switch every other frame (which is immensely bizarre, I might add.)

"Our work is impossible to beat anymore in it's current situation" This is a mistake. You guys have pushed this really far, farther than the vast majority of games on this site, but seriously, a game with this complexity will always yield new things. Woodman stage was really the only one that was like "well, this is really new stuff and material woohoo" but the rest really did feel like the old movie. But props for improving the old one by such a good amount. yes vote.

Specter, can you do 2 of 2 things? 1) Post however far you got in your msot recent 105% WIP 2) Mention any time saving tricks in the physics of the game; it'd help funnyhair and I need to update the DKC trick page. If you can do these, danke!

Is there any part of this site that hasn't been tainted by this kind of behavior?

IIRC the reset command does 2 things. 1) In Windows, it resets the emulator, not just the ROM. Which is not how resetting is supposed to work. 2) in Linux, the reset command causes Mupen to close. (I think)

Yes. Be patient so that I can Be Doctor and operate on you. (thank you NxCy for pointing that out to me.)

Done with Triti; and starting Tetarti. It's not fun, because I need to do the same operation 3 times out each Tetarti, and stupidly after slicing I need to wait 3 seconds before injecting. And then after that, it's the doubly-not fun pempti missions. As I've said before, since I'm working this summer and doing other stuff, progress is going to be very slow. So just.... be patient.

I don't think it would be that interesting if you're going to be space flying (that's the fastest way to beat a course, although you would need to obtains parts & create a car - or use a file that has them unlocked), although if it's going to be a snaking tas, that would be more interesting... (still, it would have the same problem of creating a car or unlocking a good one)...
The really neato part about this site is that someone choosing to TAS this game could decide to use a blank file (like we should) and then snake their way through all of the courses, avoiding all space flying strategies. Voila!

These operations are hard work and this summer has been very slow progress. Like a bad case of diarrhea, you'll just have to wait it out. Moving on to chapter 4, which means I'm halfway through the game. (except the second half is tougher.)
