The path to completion may be the fastest but there does not really seem to be much human game play as far as I can tell. Correct me if I am wrong. Also it is pretty slow. The seizure screens irritated me too. Going to have to give this a no.

Ok I have placed the movie in userfile to replace this one. Should be 19 frames improved over this one due to using a damage boost at the end of 7-2. In this improved movie I did the following: -Damage Boost in 7-2 which saves 19 frames overall since it also removes need to delay after the godzilla fight to get a good cycle so I can get the additional 20 kunai pickup. -Stylize start of 1-1. Missed it for some reason. Added in blocking shurikin with physical attack when you have no kunai. Thank you random youtube comment, no idea that was possible. -Added a little nonsense in the 2-3 boss fight with walking backwards. -Stylize 4-1. This one had several revisions and I guess my old messing around was removed before. -5-3 has more nonsense with rolling along ground in double jump state and moonwalking. --7-1 slightly more messing around. Walk off of float and almost die. -Added nonsense during the fight with Zeed. --Changed some jumps from normal forward jumps to backward jumps. When you jump up near a target such as an enemy or a box and press UDLRB it will do a backwards jump. -8-1 killed an extra fool since I had one more kunai from an errant B I pressed somewhere in some level I cleaned up. -Cleaned up inputs a good amount. http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/62045177127782182

Great routing but the main issue is that there just is not a lot going on visually so that hurts entertainment. From your notes it looks like a lot of effort was put in though. Going to give this a Meh. I have a rpg in mind that will probably go to vault like this one too...

So I realized a slight improvement at the end of 7-2 with a damage boost at the end. Was writing notes when I understood I should be able to do it there. This actually gives a good cycle on 8-1 Rain, so no delay needed after godzilla either. The new one should be 19 frames of improvement. Going to try something else on 2-3, and if not then clean it up tomorrow and place it here as a userfile for whatever judge takes this to replace the existing.

Had been waiting for this one for awhile! Very well done. You made really good use of having two players and added in some funny 2 player interaction which I always enjoy. Yes!

I have to vote Meh for this. The video with the subtitled notes and the sped up abort missions made for a good video. However if this was the full 30 minutes with only 3 missions played it would be more tedious to watch. I will say the missions that WERE played were done excellently. Maybe some day we could see a full play through?

I liked this but I kind of wished it felt more like both cars were going wild equally. A lot of the time it felt like the second car was just kind of along for the ride.

[3874] SNES The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past "full inventory" by fmp & Yuzuhara_3 in 52:52.44 Very impressive from any perspective you look at it. [3358] GBC Pokémon: Yellow Version "arbitrary code execution" by MrWint in 05:48.28 Blew my mind. [2741] Genesis Sonic 3 & Knuckles by Aglar & marzojr in 26:53.06 One of the first and best Tases I have watched. [1649] NES Mega Man 2 by aglasscage, finalfighter, pirohiko & Shinryuu in 23:48.51 This long standing 2010 one. Watched this one several times over the years.

Brunovalads, this script seems very interesting however I think it's so generic that once a conversion to bizhawk is complete it would be pointless to use this tool. Once it is converted there would be no need for placeholders because there would be nothing to replace. At least that is my take on what a conversion would look like. Any other useful scripts you have come across? ---- Edit: And also some of the functions in that generic script would be quite useful even as tiny pieces in a script collection. Also Zinfidel mentioned about ScriptHawk which is a collection of scripts which would help.

Hello, I am creating a form in Bizhawk to help non programmers use Lua scripts. Specifically I am using a form of Moustache to create files that contain placeholders for variable values. These placeholders are found that then a list is generated that a user can then input values into. Once the values are input, the user can generate the output file. Process should be: 1a) Generate the Lua Moustache template file (programmer/scripter task) 1b) Open Template File 2) Input Values Into Placeholders 3) Generate and Save 4) Load in LuaConsole --------- However in order for this to be a success there needs to be USEFUL, GENERIC-USE Lua scripts! So I wish to ask the community what are great examples that I can use. I have a couple ideas of what might be useful scripts. 1) 2D Distance Between Two Objects 2) 3D Distances Between Two Objects 3) 2D and 3D Position of Character 4) Nice Canvas Display of Some Values 5) Some Very Common Random Generators Algorithms with a Seed as the Placeholder 6) Sure others with more experience would have good ideas. Tonight I will create some code to create some functionality to convert a RamWatch file a Lua folder to display RamWatch values. I have no canvas code ATM so it will be nasty Lua for now. Warhippy it is interesting how we both did something with the map. https://puu.sh/F1d7x/8cac8deaca.png I had realized the warp early, and then discounted it due to having to wait for the birds for orbs. Then the lack of sword of orbs made it slower. Should have gone back and tried it again. Anyway, here is some stuff DrD2k9 and I had found. ---------------- Extra Jump Height in Small Form - Jump with Turbo, basically alternating jump and not jump will allow extra height. Wall Jump in Small Form - On some vertical walls pressing L when you up against a wall will then allow you to jump. I suspect the left and right widths are not exact so if you switch quickly you embed yourself and the game thinks you are in the ground allowing an extra jump. Upward Vertical Wraparound in Small Form - If you are able to get enough height you can actually jump up and around vertically. Fall / Death Plane Bypass After Killing Flying Dragon in Small Form - Suspect this has something to do with lag from all the generated sprites. After killing the dragon and all the pieces break apart if you fall into the pit you will instead do the wraparound from the bottom. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9MMQIvT8TLQ&feature=youtu.be Jump into Edge of Moving Blocks in Small Form - You can do extra jump on the side of the moving block to gain extra height. In fact you can also do this for a time on the underside of the blocks...even though that makes no sense. Ex: if you jump up hit the bottom of the block with the turbo jumping you can still move forward while on the bottom of the moving block for a time. Damage Boosting through Blocks in Small Form - Think everyone found this. Enemies that move through the object and do not allow you to escape back out are ideal. Short Vertical Jump in Large View - Under some circumstances in Large Form your sprite will be half embedded in the floor. After getting damage boosted forward it is possible to get jump while half in the floor which can be used to boost of a couple enemies low to the ground more quickly. Roof Boost in Overhead View - While it did not seem any use it is possible jump into the white tiled roofs and then get boosted forward if you do not get stuck. These tiles are destroy able which might have something to do with the behavior. Yoshi Lure - If you hit him after he first appears he will much more quickly start spinning after you. Yoshitsune Double Bounce - This seemed to be faster than the single damage boosting, but the heights of Yoshi's jumps vary. Anyway with this you essentially smack Yoshi while he is on the right side at a certain height. This will make him jump higher. If you then position yourself correctly you can then do a damage boost, then an additional bounce that does not damage you further. Second form of Yoshi. Benkei skip? - DrD2k9 believed he had found a skip for this guy when he had the rod...but I think for some reason he lost the inputs. Kind of hesitant to put this here since it was up in the air if it was a legit skip or not. I had messed with trying to damage boost past him but was not able to get it to work.

Aran Jaegar, I read what you wrote and have a hard time understanding. If you wrote very short responses it would help. Also, you use too many complex sentence structures and run on sentences.

I have a strong feeling that these people have no idea how a tas is really made or what effort goes into it. There seems to be a lot of extra effort to make a tasbot run actually work, since I watched a bit of a stream where dwango I think was trying to get smb working. Particularly that one person seems strangely against tasbot but offers no suggestions for improvements except saying it needs to be something crazy and unique and highly technical and saying he would rather watch rta. I think the criticism of wanting to see tas only runs of games that are wildly different from rta runs is a good tack to take. Also to have the presenters fully explain what is going on and why it is actually impressive. Acting like you don't know what is going on I found confusing personally since if it desynced there would be no way the run could even finish. A future game to show could be that new Megaman tas, 100% super metroid, or Zelda 100%. Basically something really wild and obviously tas only.

One improvement would have been to have also tassed a couple Mario maker 2 levels that were played during the event. It would have really highlighted the differences even more.
