Finally beat Psycho Mantis. Changing the starting position just before the blackout seems to have done the trick.
Great job! Nice to see you've overcome that obstacle. Good luck on the rest of the run!

To be honest it is my opinion that there be sepparate branches (pal, ntsc).
In this case, I don't think it would make sense, since the fastest times on PAL and NTSC are less than a second apart.

There's no need to be rude to the author. He or she put a lot of hard work into this submission, and it actually beats the published movie. It just doesn't beat a submission that the author probably had any way of knowing existed. You shouldn't assume the author is a child, anyway; it's possible he or she just doesn't speak English well. You had to learn to TAS and optimize and learn the rules too, so give this person time to do the same.

In the movie's page there's a "rate this movie" link where the rating appears. OTOH, this link only appears if you are logged in. Maybe this should be changed so that it's always visible, but if you click it while not logged in, it jumps to the login page (and from there, if the login is successful, to the rating page)? (If this is too laborious to implement, then perhaps the link could just jump to a page saying "you need to be logged in to rate movies.")
Just to be clear, you must log in on the main page, not the forum, to rate movies. They are two separate sections of the site, two separate cookies, etc. The "Rate this movie" link is at the bottom of the list of links like "FCEUX movie file (.fm2)" and "MKV file via BitTorrent".

Also, the "real name" field in the submission text of your Super Mario 64 DS run is "Michele", which in English is a girl's name. I really should've done some research; according to this page, Michele is a girl's name in English and French, but a boy's name in Italian. I apologize. It was an honest mistake.

The GBA version also has Luigi who has different mechanics to Mario. I seem to recall there being interest in the recently rejected SMW GBA any% submission topic, in seeing a Luigi run. A run combining the changes of a new character, a new goal (All dragon coins/100%), and an new 'updated' version of the game offers enough variation to the vanilla SMW SNES runs to be worth doing In my mind. Taking those goals individually, into separate runs... Not so much.
This sounds like a great idea. The run would be really optimized and very entertaining. I hope someone considers doing this.

Well, I managed to watch it on the emulator (since my school blocks nicovideo, and I'll be here another hour), and I think it looks really good! It's very fast-paced and entertaining. I think you should submit it. The only issues are that it starts from SRAM (which is OK if you have a judge's permission and have a verification movie) and that it's the Japanese version (which must also be fine, because your published Amazing Mirror any% used the Japanese version of the game).

So nothing happens at the end if you get all of the Dragon Coins? That makes it sound like an arbitrary goal, and I don't think it would be accepted.

What's the point of getting all of the Dragon Coins? Does the ending change at all? I think it will be entertaining to watch nonetheless, even on YouTube. But I'm not sure about the goal choice.

So... what system are you doing next? :)
I nominate the Game Boy. SNES would probably take forever since there are so many games with so many songs in each.

Wow, even autofiring A doesn't allow you to reach the third shard in 3-3! Looks good so far. I just finished the game 100% myself, and I can't wait to watch you battle Miracle Matter and 02.

Apart from this is a pretty unoptimized run, this version is bad compared with the good old nes version. Voting no.
I agree. The original version is preferred to any remakes, and we already have a good run of the original published. Voting No.

I'm not sure what could be better than that Silver Surfer song. It's anyone's guess until they reveal #2 and #1. I enjoyed the obscure titles of this list, as I hadn't heard most of these songs before. I'm really glad this list was made.

For overall routing, a good place to start could probably come from the routes players have made who have run the game on SDA.
Miles was nice enough to link me to his route (which was planned for a real-time speedrun, but it works for a TAS too). It's an almost perfect route (I haven't found anything improvable yet) and I will definitely be using it. It's really great that TASers and speedrunners get along so well now, or else I might not have ever seen this route.

Hopefully emulation problems/errors won't prevent you from completing the whole run. Good luck.
Thanks! I think all of the emulation glitches have been fixed, including the graphical ones, so I should be able to complete it.

It is a full encode. It's just in segments.

You can watch the run in segments in diggidoyo's YouTube playlist.

Wow, that was fast! I don't think it's very entertaining, but it's short enough to be publishable. Nice job finding that glitch. Voting Yes.

This is really well done. It's very entertaining like the Mega Man run, though in a different way. It has high technical quality too, even though you had to overcome desyncs. Yes vote!

Well,I used PSXjin to record this movie. So the movie should be pjm format.
Microstorage accepts .pjm files. It's not listed on the script's front page, but PSXjin movie files can be uploaded without problems. Also, your original spelling of "training mode" was correct before you changed it.

Well, at least he tried. The rerecord count is 9138, so unless it was faked, he put some effort into this TAS. Hopefully, we will see better optimized submissions from him in the future.

Rchokler, you need to post the link to the movie file on Microstorage, so someone can download the new movie file and replace the current submission movie for you.
